Considering her circumstances, her yearning for connection really leads her to develop empathy. Honestly Rogue is among the few characters in media that feel truly human and her situation, I mean when you think about the nature of her powers, you feel bad for the poor girl almost immediately. Living a life where you can’t kiss or pro create with another with out the possibility of killing them really is a terrible fate. I could see Rogue wanting a family of her own with kids to raise with whom ever she sticks with, but can’t have that life, due to the nature of her powers, which seem to make her want it more.

@@user-ManofStyle1 Wouldn’t know if it could possible. But this version of Rogue is perhaps the most complex and tragic version of the character as well as having the most realistic reaction to her powers. On the usual hand, it would cool to have powers, but on the other what if those powers had too many drawbacks that you get their powers and their memories , you also drain them to the point you might actually kill them as well as risk losing your sanity to the point you don’t even know who you are anymore. Rogue’s powers are always a double edged sword and that’s her tragedy. If someone brave enough makes a spin off of this version of character, it could focus on the humanity and her need for human connection. Unlike most mutants, Rogue is the only who needs to be rid of her powers, not just to have normal life, but because she dosen’t want to hurt anybody. She knows who she is and what she is capable of. Even if she accepts it, she just can’t deny that as long as she her powers, she is a danger to herself and those around her. All that power, she knows what it is capable of and fears it, so hopefully this hopeful spin off will explore that aspect in a way she either has to find a way to truly control her power, find ways to work around (like a power nullifier that would turn her powers on and off) or just find a cure. I would also want her to confess for feelings for Scott, but letting him to stay with Jean cause she knows that his choice. There could also be a story arc that focuses on her feelings for Scott and jealousy towards Jean, but hopefully Rogue could find a way to let go of her resentment towards her, knowing they both love Scott to pieces. If there hope for a story like that, it would hopefully give Rogue the happy ending she deserves.

Not to mention if Scott picked her over Jean, Rogue would've been more understanding and wouldn't worry about him cheating on her like Jean since she knows Scott is a very nice guy as well as a very loyal individual. Rogue's jealousy of Jean is often directly strictly on her rather Scott. Jean may have known Cylcops the longest, but Rogue tends to be more trusting and understanding of him, not to mention she knows Scott's already a player, it's just that he initially didn't settle on anyone at the time. Rogue gave him time and she wanted to spend as much time with Scott as much as she tried, but was afraid to hurt him due to the nature of her powers and that he settled with Jean.

Well, in the comics Scott and Rogue are completly different characters, they have no history together, no chemestry, and almost to none meaningful interactions, so there is no point do it in main title. In the show i believe, whole thing was a huge "will-they-won't-they" tease, and the end plan was to pair characters as canonical "Scott x Jean" and "Gambit x Rogue" couples. It's all probably because of 90's X-Men influence.

@@user-ManofStyle1 But, to be fair, romantic relationships in comics can be a mess, not say a joke. I mean, Rogue has literally dated Magneto and even freaking Black Widow in comics, and every now and then Jean Grey's dead (again) and Cyclops is dating someone else (until she somehow gets revived and he goes back to her). From that perspective, I don't see a problem with pairing up Scott and Rogue, they could just be like an "alternative universe" thing. Kinda like Nightwing's relationships in DC, in his solo comic he dates Oracle but in "Titans Academy" he dates Starfire, at least as far as I understood it (which can be incredibly confusing to a reader, but I guess executives don't care, as long as they're making money LOL).

Have you read the interview with director Frank Paur? He talked a little bit about the Scott x Rogue thing, and the way he said it kinda leaves us to assume they'd be together in a future season, but I re-watched the series again and it's a tad hard to believe it. I mean, by the end of Season 4 Scott and Jean were already an established couple, pretty much, and they apparently were setting up the Gambit route for Rogue. I'm not saying it would be impossible, 'cuz nothing really is when it comes to fiction lol, but that'd be going against the direction they were taking the show towards to up until that point. If what he said was true, I wonder how they'd play that out... Not that he was lying, but maybe that was his vision for the show, which maybe did not match the vision of the other directors for it.
@user-ManofStyle13 жыл бұрын
First. Happy Fool's day to you) Second. I've only heard that someone said to someone that is all supposed to happend in season 5, but nothing concrete. Third. I have an idea.(TLDR version, lol) Season 5, timeskip. Rogue and Gambit are a couple, but it's complicated, because Gambit is a f#@kboy who isn't all there, and Rogue in need of emotional support, and being nostalgic for times with Scott starts to hang out with him again in "he just a good old friend" way. Meanwhile Jean becomes more powerful and because of it starts to become more arrogant, overbearing and entitled(Like Megan from Young Justice season 2), which slowly makes her relationship with Scott to go south, then he reminisce about good old times he had with Rogue, starts to hang out with her more in "she just a good old friend" way. They reconnect, but then it is Scott who first starts to develop feelings for Rogue (while she being oblivious, mirroring the past) even fights with Gambit for being an asshole, and in the end he confesses to her, and she asks for a time to think about it. Jean seeing all this, feels betrayed by Scott, and this would insure her already growing decision to join the dark side and embrace the Pheonix power(Main story of the season). Later Jean becomes Dark Pheonix for a first time, she fights the X-Men, and would kill several of them including Gambit, and that explains why Rogue is wearing a long jacket in "the future X-Men shot", it was Gambit's jacket that she wears in memory of him. Then X-Men and Brotherhood are joining together again to save the universe, and it's all plays out like episode "Power Surge" mixed with "Ascension" but on the grander scale. At the climax, Rogue absorves enough of Jean's powers to make Pheonix weak, and X-men destroys it but Jean doesn't make it alive, because Rogue absorved to much. We see that Rogue absorved so much in fact, that she can't absorve anything anymore, and all she has now is Jean's powers(and her memories, and maybe feelings?) and that's explains why she could fly in "the future X-Men" shot, and why she doesn't wear gloves, she can touch now. After everything Scott and Rogue are feeling conflicted about each other and themselves, but they will (suggestively) hug each other, and we end on the note that they will figured out something, eventually. Well, that's how i pictured it. any questions?
@guilhermevianabarbosa8033 жыл бұрын
@@user-ManofStyle1 There's an article with the written interview on "marvel.popgeeks.com", where there's also an interview with producer Boyd Kirkland. Basically, Paur said that the reason why Rogue had a crush on Cyclops is that they had similar backgrounds, she thought Jean was mean to him, and he was the one that reached her and brought her to a better environment of friends and family in the 1st place. He also pointed out that scene within Prof X's glimpse of the future, where we see the grown up X-Men, and he implied that Rogue didn't land near Cyclops randomly, which kinda sounds like there were plans to make'em a couple in a future season (although he never said it'd happen in S05, and it'd honestly make no sense to, since it took them 4 Seasons to put Jean and Scott together - they wouldn't throw all of that work away so easily). @@user-ManofStyle1 It's already April here in Brazil as well, it's just that I'm really bad at keeping track of time xD I'm not that well versed in X-Men, but one thing I'd do if I had creative control over S05 would be try to expand the universe of the show a little bit more, I mean, we already had Captain America, why not bring the rest of the Avengers, as well as other hero groups? At least little easter eggs to build up to something greater later on (imagine the X-Men and the Avengers fighting Thanos on their own version of Infinty War, and how awesome that'd be!). Also, bring more villains, we'd need more challenges to our heroes after all. Maybe even have an Avengers Vs X-Men Saga in S06 or 07, or something, where Rogue absorbs Cap Marvel's powers which, somehow, stabilizes her own mutant powers and gives her control over them, allowing her to touch ppl. As to making "Scott x Rogue" true, I'd take advantage of one of the things Paur said about Jean's personality, that she doesn't know what she wants. Which is true, when you think about it - back when she was dating Duncan she'd get jealous of Scott with other girls, but wouldn't break up with Duncan nor confess her feelings to Scott. I'd go for the "Jean never really loved Scott, he was just the only one she found to 'fill the void' Duncan left when they broke up" route. I'd probably make her fall in love with someone else, maybe Angel (idk lol), and live a secret romance with that person until she opened up to Scott about it to break up with him, which would probably leave him devastated and not wanting to date anyone so soon. Meanwhile, if Gambit got somewhere with Rogue, I'd make her realise that, although he's not a bad person, he's not exactly the type of man you'd choose to have a long term relationship with - and he'd agree with it. So they would both part ways in a friendly manner and move on. They all would proceed with their daily lives, fighting for mutant rights and hero stuff, and Rogue would be a friendly shoulder to Scott since they both got out of failed romantic relationships, so they have something in common to talk about and get them closer to each other. Some time would pass and Rogue would notice she still loves Scott with all of her heart, and since there's no Jean involved this time, Scott realizes that, he sees the truth in her feelings and kinda starts to feel the same way towards her, until they finally end up together. That's basically how I'd do it! I wouldn't kill off anyone because I think that's one of the cheapest/laziest narrative ways of pairing up characters. Also, comic characters are being killed and revived constantly, so it'd avoid stupid romantic sub plot conflicts and unnecessary drama, such as love triangles, and crap like that. (I absolutely hate things like the "Cyclops x Jean x Wolverine" nonsense we have in comics... LOL)

In RxS development i think Scott should be more initiative, proactive, and not just Rogue waiting for her Senpai to eventually notice her because opposition has gone. About love tringles, killing the characters end ect. I think it's not that those kinds of tropes and cliches are exist is bad, it's because they are misused most of the times, or just badly exicuted. @AsianShadowrunner8 ай бұрын
Whether it was from the original series or this series, I was never a fan of Jean Grey. To me, she was overhyped. Even today. As for Gambit, sure, I get his slick New Orleans charm. But I also thought he was overhyped. I always loved Rogue, both in the original series and *this* series. And, call me crazy, I shipped them hard here. They had a *ton* more chemistry. I didn't like Scott in the original series but I *actually* liked him in *this* series. As a Dawson Creek fan, I always thought Rogue was Joey Potter, Scott was Dawson, and Jean was Jen. Rogue pined for Scott but Scott was obviously clueless. Rogue was the quintessential *underdog* and I rooted for her to get Scott. Bah, the *least* they could have done was give the two of them a kiss if there was no shipping! Well, I guess I'll leave it up to my imagination that they *did* wind up together somehow. Also, I have a thing for goth girls so seeing Rogue as one was icing on the cake!

Actually, the director of the show did say that in the future Scott and Rogue ended up together. Jean was going to die in the Phoenix Saga, permanently, and he'd get with Rogue after that.

I like Scott and Rogue together here but i understand why they didnt do it.

Well, they were going to make them a couple in season 5 after Jean died from the possession of the Phoenix, but it got canceled.

This series is in such a strange bubble. Its well made, but it has its own continuity, it doesnt fit into any other genre of the x-men story.

I know she's unable to touch, but id risk it for Rouge. I do miss the the Southern belle side of her from the 90s. But this goth thing is okay. Kinda wish Peter Parker was in here just to get her focus off of Scott

Who voiced rogue from X-men evolution?
@eamonndeane5873 жыл бұрын
Megan Carey Black. Unfortunately she had to retire from acting because she got cancer in 2005 and the operation removed half of her tongue (drastically altering her voice and hampering her communication abilities). Fortunately she's been Cancer free ever since her last operation and been able to raise her family .

Hard to see them as a couple. First time i saw them was in the film & he's looked way too old. They definitely do look same age here though & its cute but of course its not happening.

While I did enjoy the love triangle, I feel that Lance might have been a better choice. I would have liked to see how things might have turned out if the punk and the goth tried to be in a relationship. They'd eventually end things, and Rouge would find herself being drawn to Gambit. Scott and Rouge have shown to be better off as good friends.
