Nightmare's been getting a lot of attention in the comics recently. More so than in many prior years. That can only mean they're planning on bringing him to the MCU and want to increase his exposure to make that inclusion more impactful.

Although this is correct, we might not get to see him in the MCU for some time and since we got Clea at the end of Doctor Stange : MoM, it's far more likely we'll see Dorrmammo before we see Nightmare.

@@liam7930 When he appears is besides the point. We've seen the MCU remix things or combine characters so there's nothing to rule out Nightmare being in the Dark Dimension. Dormammu himself has also had underlings who were significant characters in their own right.

@@KryyssTV That's true, I don't think Nightmare has worked with Dorrmammu before, but like you said * the MCU has been known to mix things up. So maybe we could see them team and to a point where Enternity has to step in. Enternity is supposed to make an appearance at some point

Jean also entered the Mind of Knull and dug out his origin while looking for his weakness. We've now seen 4 Omega level Telepaths take on the Eternals Unimind and win against dozens of Eternals working in sync in a telepathic battle. I think what Marvel is slowly developing to is Omega Level mutants are like Mini Cosmic level with a Unique Specialized power with limitless potential. Jean and her Telepathy, Iceman temperature manipulation, Jamie Reality Manipulation, Exodus Telekinesis, Magneto Magnestism, Storm Weather/Elemental manipulation, Vulcan Energy Manipulation, Elixir Biological Manipulation etc. In their areas of power they can be multiworld "Cosmic" threats or deviations to Eternals

@@Dezzyyy Hello, Exodus gives a good explanation of Telepathy and how it works in combat during Immortal X-men #5 which I'm sure Rob will be covering soon. Telepathy is a power that relies on raw power but also skill and willpower are huge factors in how effective a Telepath is. Knull's is far more powerful, skilled and definitely has stronger will than the Eternals, his symbiotes that are linked to him were capable of overtaking a couple of Celestials, The creators of the Eternals and controlling them. Rob covered that story arc it's called King in Black. Knull was attacking the mind of Dylan Brock, son of Eddie Brock(Venom), because Dylan could control symbiotes as well Knull wanted to overtake him. But Dylan kept hearing a voice in his head pushing him to fight and not give up. The voice was later revealed to be Jean Grey who began to use Knull being in Dylan's mind as a way to attack Knull and enter Knull's mind to search through it trying to find his weakness despite him knowing she was doing it. Mutants, in particular Omega level mutants have no limit to the heights their Omega level power(s) can reach hence making them potentially more powerful than a Cosmic Entity like an Eternal or beings beyond the Eternals with that same power.

Honestly, I'm not that much of a fan of Marvel constantly taking the brakes off of everyone's powers. Like, with more than half of the X-Men being omega-leveled and having no upper limits, then it just becomes a battle of gods rather than a battle of people trying to win despite their shortcomings and limitations.

Imagine a run where Death has gotten fed up with souls being stolen from her realm and makes moves to reclaim them. I'd love to see how the Marvel universe, heroes and villains alike, handle death itself coming directly for them.

Why would they have to kill Ben Urich to wipe his mind of seeing Cyclops alive? Professor X and Emma Frost and the Cuckoos would both just cut that information out of his mind to keep everything kosher. Jean Grey, Rachel Grey and the Psylockes could do it, but they might need some convincing.

Readers tend to forget how powerful a really good telepath can be. There was a great example of this in The Legion of Super Heroes a couple decades ago. The villain was one of their earliest villains, he had a hypnosis power, which he used to take over the Earth. Saturn Girl (telepath) walked in on him. He ordered his two bodyguards to protect him (Legioneers Ultra Boy and Mon-El -- think of Superman, only there are two of them). The telepath just looked at them and they dropped.

Personally I kinda disagree with the Jean Grey vs Nightmare analysis... It really doesn't matter about her being omega level telepath or anything. It's just her strength of self. In Nightmare's realm itself, like actually IN the dreamscape, he would *absolutely* rule supreme. We're seeing him encounter her in her own dreaming mind. It's been shown before that a person with a strong enough willpower and strength of self can ultimately overcome Nightmare in their own dreams, because in the end you're the most powerful being in your own mind. Or something like that. Like everything else over the years that really varies with who's writing and what the story needs. 🤣

Exactly, because Nightmare can’t literally toy with the Beyonders in his own realm, and base level Jean is not Beyonder level, her omega level telepathy probably just helps her know that there was something going on in her own mindscape/dream

@@steffanofumo you do realize that Omega level telepath, is she wanted, could do anything she wants right? She has no limits. She could literally make a beyonder do her work for her if she really let her powers go. That's what telepathy is, it's the must underrated power, when it's the most powerful superpower besides like having total control of existence and etc. An Omega level telepath could control a universal reality warper quicker than the reality warper could control the telepath.

The problem with Jean was she was originally the boring damsel in distress/love interest for the team of boys (and Xavier for some perverted reason) then she was suddenly given a power up and a role outside of her original one with the Phoenix which made her very interesting. Now the Phoenix-Dark Phoenix storyline is to this day one of my favourite runs but when they brought her back 6 years later she kind of went back to her original role with X-Factor so how do you fix that…well make her essentially a God but a nice one who will rarely use that level of power again which eventually became dull again until her death. Then she became so much more interesting as the WPOTC as she was really one of the most powerful beings in the omniverse, able to create and destroy realities with a snap of a finger but more importantly Marvel only used this God like character sparingly which kept her interesting as you never knew if or when she would pop up and when she did it was only for a moment. Jean now without the Phoenix is somewhere between how she confident she was at the start of Phoenix saga and how she was by her 2nd death, really playing the leader role for the X-Men ever since X-Men Red which is a fresh take given it’s been a Scott/Logan show for over a decade before this. I’m interested to see what they continue to do with her however I am very aware that she is the most perfect host for the Phoenix and the only WPOTC so it’s only a matter of time till the two get back together.

Rob, what's the level that's beyond the level that's beyond Omega Level, because with only a little "extrapolation" base level Jean Grey eclipses the Infinity Gauntlet! Jean > Nightmare > Beyonders > Living Tribunal > Infinity Gauntlet (Nexus of Nightmares was just bad). Actually, this makes Jean the most powerful character in the Marvel Universe!

I just assumed it would've been Mystique posing as Urich talking to Cyclops because the council expected him to do something stupid... but I probably missed something here or in another video, because I haven't read the comics myself (or any that I'm sure feed into this arc). "The council murdered a journalist and replaced him with a modified clone" is way more entertaining, but man, it's a little convoluted in addition to being super dark. Which... probably means it's correct.

You watch the new Predator “Prey” movie….. what do you think of the filmmaker himself saying that he had no idea of the back story to the 1915 flintlock that Danny Glover was handed at the end had a comic backstory until after the movie was done? How Star Wars sequel trilogy not having a story mapped out not even a structure that was cohesive for all 3 movies? I feel paramont was a bit more committed to source material than a social cause (nothing wrong with that, Naru was strongest female character since Alicia Verkanda’s underrated Tomb Raider) Now we are seeing how Disney has taken over so much and now its just them holding the bag like taking to many liberties with writing and sticking to source visuals because they have possibly ran out of ideas. They are great at quality visuals but the PC writing is chipping the polish they had.
