I don't know that Doom is ultimately bad. He has his own morality and code of honor. And gods themselves acknowledge that Doom should rule the Earth for the greater good...
@Panthror2 ай бұрын
@@saadamehdi2848 Well, Marvel mostly has him be the "bad guy". Also he does the bad things for what only he thinks is good, whereas an anti-hero does the bad things for what everyone can agree on as being good.

Doom was either a comically written Villian, or an anti-villian back in the day. Now in recent decades, doom is either a schemer, but a true bad guy acting as a good guy, or hes an anti-hero in the most loose of senses. Unless you invoke anything involving Latveria. Then doom genuinely is a good guy in the context of Latveria, but everyone else? Nah. Hes still a bad guy unless there is something to gain. And marvel is pretty tongue in cheek about that now

I think Doom quite nicely embodies "True neutral". He does anything necessary to achieve what he deems important, regardless of good or bad.

That bit you did about Doom and compared him to Black Panther and Namor reminded me of a quote from Maximus: "You're used to dealing with heroes... But what you don't have much experience with is kings. And that's your problem here. You can't think of them as normal men. You can't even think of them as behaving human--that's thinking too small... They are larger than that, bigger than that... They exist above other men because they were born that way. Authority began at the cradle, you see. Their very idea of morality is different than what you are used to. The people--their people--expect them to do violence to ensure a certain amount of peace and prosperity. And like gods, they are also expected to commit murder... So the people can sleep at night knowing they are protected. "

I can genuinely hear the pain in your voice. Sorry if that sounds rude or anything. My best friend had his life taken in a horrible, sudden drunk driving accident and I guess I judt recognize that voice. The before and after... i am....i was... the exact same way.. Its like a part of you dies with them. People say the same ol quotes and sure time does make it a bit easier but man. I hate that this life is so limited. There is just so so much to explore. To learn. So much we could all be doing together but there is just so much pointless death and hopelessness everywhere. I see empaths just being beaten down into the dirt and it tears my heart out of my chest. I genuinely care about others being in pain and maybe that makes me a fool but id rather live in a world that give hugs instead of punches. Im so sorry you had to experience that pain and that you now carry this weight. I cant say it will get easier or go away... but i CAN say you will see him again and it will all even out eventually. Just the curse of mortality I suppose....or what we are led to believe anyway. Much love brother

I've just finished reading this story a day or two ago. It's an amazing read! Well written with impeccably drawn fight scenes. This story needs to be adapted somehow to the MCU.
@baladas8398Ай бұрын
I remember reading this comic when it came out. I'm 72 and I've been a fan pretty much all my life. I remember buying Fantastic Four 1 when it first came out - I was about 11 years old. I couldn't afford all the comics, but I used to read them at the drug store. I'd hide behind the rack and spend an hour reading the ones I couldn't buy. The druggist was pretty cool; he probably read them himself. Anyway, this was an epic story and you do an excellent job recapitulating the storyline. Your enthusiasm is infectious. My memory isn't the best, but I seem to recall Mephisto's power vacillating at different periods in the Marvel multiverse. I seem to recall him losing to some other characters who weren't as powerful Doctors Strange and Doom, but perhaps that is only because he fought outside of his own realm.

Dooms one and only interaction with his mother is her damning her own soul willingly to reject victors apparent treachery. He saved her soul but in his eyes he lost the love of his mother. 😢 *im crying*. I hope shes looking down from heaven and sees Victors deeds. That Doom would never be so cruel and evil. I hope Doom sees her scorn as a lesson to keep in his heart. I hate to see Doom go so far for dominance in other comics, but his mother i hope can be a pillar of his morality. I hope one day Doom and his mother can be reunited, and Victor be givin the reward he deserves, The love and admiration of his mother. 😢 This story is genuinely on of my favorites of all time.
