Although Crowder is obviously meant to be an unlikeable character, and certainly fatally flawed with hubris and impatience, he's also got numerous admirable qualities, like being so fair-minded as to pay a man for trying to murder him. I greatly enjoyed this tale as a character study. "Only sentimentality is evil!" A line which the story portrays as false, yet I find myself agreeing strongly with the general concept, as a result of my own life experiences.

The script was originally presented on "DIMENSION X" on August 16, 1951. 28:56- "Tonight, hear Colgate University versus Georgetown University on the 'COLLEGE BOWL QUIZ', on the NBC RADIO NETWORK." **chimes**

This episode creates a picture of the naked face of capitalism as vivid as an oil painting by one of the Old Masters from the golden age of portraiture.

Love your stuff ! Sus and escape are probably the best that golden age of radio had to offer ! But I really REALLY enjoy Nightfall from the Canadians! Little bit later early 80s I think but masterfully done !
