As a Hongkonger, I love visiting Shizuoka again and again. But before the new direct flight from Hong Kong, we have to land at Nagoya or Tokyo and transfer trains or drive to Shizuoka. It's now more convinent to access. Hopefully there will be new train line to either Kanaya-eki or Kikugawa-eki, to connect with JR Tokaido line easier. (I don't think JR Tokai would build new Shinkanzen station nearby the airport.) Besides spectacular view with Mt. Fuji at Fujinomia & Fuji, famous onsen region and nature landscape at Atami and Izu-hantō, fresh and tasty seafood from Suruga-wan, anguilliformes from Hamana-ko, dumplings from Hamamatsu, etc. I hope the new airline can bring more tourists and income to Shizuoka people in the future.
