Born & raised in Philly I had the pleasure of eating a lot of great cheesesteaks from 1960-92! The same list of tourist traps still exists! I don't need to list my current favorites as I live in Miami these days but for sure Jim's or Geno's or Pat's is not & never been on my go-to list. For example, Woodrow's is less than 1 block from Jim's on South Street & a real winner! Angelo's is top noche because they bake there own rolls! I noticed that Jim's roll probably is the cheap Amoroso roll! Very few cheesesteak shops in the Philly metro area use the premium Scarcone or Liscio or Carangi bakeries!
