新加坡 SBS Transit Volvo B10TL Volgren CR222LD body 雙層巴士 飄洋到香港 - EP08 HK Bus Channel 20201122

#新加坡 SBS Transit #Volvo B10TL (香港稱為 Super Olympian) 配以澳洲 #Volgren CR222LD 車身的雙層巴士，今年初退役後，於8月上旬運抵香港。消息一傳開，香港、新加坡兩地的巴士迷以至坊間出現一陣子躁動。縱使新加坡人從當地傳媒報導得知有香港的私人收藏家將之購入保存，仍然對於一部退役巴士為何飄洋到香港感到莫名其妙。
Volvo B10TL / Super Olympian 12米雙層巴士，對於香港人並不陌生。但逾700部當中，只有九巴其中的21部，裝配澳洲 Volgren 車身。至於在新加坡，Volvo B10TL 的數量僅寥寥52部，是 SBS-Transit 車隊規模近 3000部巴士中的「稀有物種」。
這部退役巴士飄洋到香港，全因收藏家車主 Dennis 與及他認識多年在新加坡的一眾友人的努力，背後的故事，未必感人，但值得細味。

This is SBS9844Z, I remember taking this exact bus on service 55 and now it's enjoying it's retirement in Hong Kong rather than being scrapped like it's brothers.

If people can drive retired public buses in Singapore,we will see some of the old buses such as the Volvo Olympian,the volvo b10m strider and the volvo b10ble.At least it is good that some buses are preserved in Singapore such as SBS2988M

Is it very difficult to keep a retired bus in SG? Is the Laws allow? Or the bus company won’t sell the buses to public?

@@HKBusChannel The government claims that there isnt enough space if we were to preserve buses, so a lot of them just goes to the scrapyard. Besides, bus spotting itself is not really recognized and circumstances for bus spotting itself is fairly harsh here compared to HK. At most we are able to buy bus plates or parts from the scrapyard, but instances of an entire bus being preserved is very rare.
