So glad that you are back Matt, I really enjoy your videos! At DFW, arrivals from the west would typically be assigned a runway on the west side of the airport (18R or 36L). On the east side with a north flow 35L would typically be used for departures - 35C and 35R for arrivals.

Hello, you seem to have the autogate plugin installed but didn't follow the docking guidance system to stop at the correct place so that's why the autogate didn't come to your plane. We see at 25:18 the arrow representing your plane a little to the right... on the DGS panel behind the tow truck.

I've been in an A320 cockpit in real life and it looks quite different from the FSLabs but this flight factor looks 11/10 its 100%!

Hi Matt, Good video. The arrival runways into DFW are usually determined by the direction from which the flight is coming. From the west you can expect the west outer runway (36L usually and 13R occasionally) and flights arriving from the east, the east center runway (35C). Normally the inner runways (36R and 35L) are almost exclusively used for departing flights. The same thing applies if landing south. As far as speed on the approach, the Airbus does not slow down as well as a Boeing, especially the 321. Ground speed mini is partially responsible, but as a rule, if on the approach and passing 3,000' AFL, the aircraft should not be faster than 200- 210 kts. After passing through 3,000' AFL, select speed 180 kts. 180 knots can be maintained to 2,000' - 1,800 AFL before pressing managed. It will take the last 800' for the aircraft to slow down and be stabilized by 1,000' AFL. The flight modes of the sim may not be accurate. By pressing WIND REQUEST at 3L (3:44 in video) you are requesting the latest update for the winds. Once the new winds are received they must be inserted into the MCDU by pressing UPDATE INSERT (6R) after the asterisk appears. An asterisk indicates data has been received. You can reject the new wind data by pressing UPDATE CANCEL in 6L. At 4:58, You placed the DH where it was supposed to be. An ILS DH can be placed in the MDA field (2R). The DH field is used for autoland. Finally, I have to agree with Alexander Lagergren. The ride is rough. I understand that you know what you are looking for as you switch views, but for the spectator along for the ride it is almost painful to try to keep up with the speed with which you switch the views especially when switching from flight deck to cabin view. I would suggest leaving the view on the screen for at least one second. 2 to 3 would be better.

Hey Matt, this is a trivial thing to pull you up on but it was really triggering me. MDA- Minimum Decent Altitude, this is for non-precision approaches (VOR, GNSS). DH- Decision Height, used for precision approaches where there is a point on the approach you have to decided (ILS, RNP). So your minima should've gone into DH :)

I control at DFW the JOVEM4 is basically the North flow version of the VKTRY2 and at DFW during times when people are controlling plan the approach for Runway 35C, 35R or 36L. Runway 35L and 36R are departure runways.

28:00 those control surface animations are gorgeous, absolutely spot on. I'll almost certainly get this when it comes out, even if it's not quite there. In terms of features it needs a touchdown sound, and perhaps with that random skid they need to look at the ground handling - default X-Plane gives really weird nosewheel physics at low speeds, try a single engine taxi and you doughnut (JARdesign fixed this on their A320!)

Hey Matt, DFW does use autogate, but with autogate airports you must pay attention to the DGS or the marshaller, or the jetway will not connect. I think it has a +/- margin of 1m.

Matt is such a great sim pilot. I'm sure he'd ace it in real life. His landings are usually rough in the simulator but I've heard that some people literally fly a lot better IRL if they're good at the sim.

Nice video Matt, however some of your complaints are misguided, i'll address one specifically "I can't tell when/how hard we land because there are no audible sounds." XPRealisticPRO is absolutely fantastic for this. Not only does it add sounds but it also adds head motion which is extremely realistic when configured for your aircraft. Configuration is super easy too. If you're going to start doing XP often i definitely recommend it. There's also a free plugin that shows your landing speed and Gs.

When you talk about the airport being far away but clearly visible compared to p3d, which do you prefer in terms of visibility to the the runway?

G’day Matt, considering how late you left your configuration you where lucky. The 320 does not slow as quickly as you expect and the decel rates are very accurate. Even gear down the aircraft is very clean and until you get to config 2 and gear down as you found it will then slow down. Simple real world Airbus rules 2000’ you should be gear down and config 2. Any later than that and you will struggle particularly in an IAE which has higher idle thrust. Good vids mate..

Great video Matt i would like to see Flight Factor improve the sounds that are important to the immersion of being in an Airbus and the wing flex looks more 738 style rather than the way the A320 wing behaves and maybe fix the drag with gear down but they have done a great job with this aircraft :)

Another idea for a vid: Put yourself in the position of famous airline emergencies (flight 1549 miracle on the hudson) reconstructing the flight with accurate data if possible. Maybe see if you can recover without ditching?

I have recently purchased the Add-on B777 Worldliner Professional for Xplane 11 and I am having issues getting the planes to appear in the xplane 11 menu, I downloaded the file off of the aerosoft website, using win rar I extract the file to extra aircraft in the Xplane program but it doesn't seem to work, can someone please help me out to tell me what I'm doing wrong.

This is X-Plane not P3D/FSX so chaseplane does not work on it.

If you fly in America/Canada/Australia, just flightaware your route. pfpx never gets it right you have to do it all manually.
