X-Plane 12 MD-82 How-To | Cold/Dark and AP ILS Landing

I have been struggling for months to figure out how to do ILS landings with AP in this plane. Thanks to you I’ve done two of them more or less (watch your speed!) successfully. Thank you!

4:50 SYs A and Sys B are actually indicate the two ignition systems for the engine (system A and system B). But in the newer aircraft such as the A32X and E175s etc. When you start the engines it will use system A on the first start. But when you start it again it will switch to system B. Just some info from a Mech.

If you never figured out what the button that turns @1:30, it's the overhead light to the left of the control panel, below the speaker.

What is your procedure landing wise when you begin? Or what should I have ready for when I land?

Well you want to know what the field elevation is, when you will start your descent, and the altitude of any approach fixes along your route. Is that what you were looking for?

@@iamgraham_ you use flaps to slow down, so in cruise no flaps, then on approach you increase the flaps progressively. You should be at full flaps on landing unless strong crosswind then not quite full. Floating down the runway means your approach speed is too fast. HTH!

Has anyone ever experienced problems with the exterior lights on the default MD-80 in XP12? I’m having issues with that and can’t figure out why it’s doing that.

I like X Plane it does not need 432 updates to work ok like FS 2020.

Check the store to be sure but I believe it does - I've heard that a bunch of XP11 addon aircraft work awesome in XP12. I want that Rotate MD80 bad LOL

I cant figure out how to use ILS in X-plane, im using A330 which should be VERY easy to ILS land.
