Bobby Skullface L So just got my copy in the mail.... There are tons of stress marks where small panels connect to the legs. Almost scared to transform him. The fingers are very floppy and can't really hold a pose. Plastic feel a bit too brittle for a $180 figure. They did fix the rachet in the upper knee but now it's so tight the knee unplugs from the shin when ever you use the joint. They did fix the toe articulation and included a non light piping eye piece (!).. I can see why people are wary to purchase Xtransbot pieces. Def not up to par compared to Fans toy or MMC.

hey Bobby just got my cyclonis and I think they heard some of your comments because xtransbots included the option to take out the light piping and insert painted eyes, keep pushing the paint they are starting to slowly listen wonderful reviews keep them impartial and informative

Excellent review. Cyclonus is possibly my all time fave TF, but I think I'll keep holding out for something better, can't justify the price and I'm not sure how much I even dig this. Thanks again for the honest critique, they are hard to come by these days.

Did you happen to notice if he has any lights, a switch or a battery cover anywhere? Seems like the light piping was not present in the earlier test samples or the initial renders. All of the etailer listings still have this in the description: 3x LED light-up components including the eyes (batteries are not included). Seems like for 180ish dollars, he should have lit eyes and somewhere in the cockpit (because how cool would that be to have galvatrons silhouette backlit with those red windows...!)

Personally I know it's a Hasbro figure and the quality is what is is but my favorite Cyclonus is the one that came in the reveal the shield two pack with Hot Rod. Also a good figure. Just upscale that mold with better paint and id be super stoked.

I recently bought X-Transbots Andras and had the same final fit issues in alt mode as this guy...you are so right, it is annoying because you love the two modes, but hate the transformation...even more annoying is the fact that seams pop out while you are looking at the alt mode! It never really feels completely transformed. This is in stark contrast to my recent purchase of Unique Toys Sworder, which is solid and firm in the transformation. My favorite purchase of last year was actually Unique Toys Provider, once again with a solid feel and transformation that you would expect from a $120 to a $170 toy. I love Eligos, but hate the transformation. Come on, X-Transbots! We want to love you! I do love the way the seat in the cockpit is spring loaded and pops up when you lift the seat back.

Great review, dude! I hope they'll adress these issues before release! They actually did pretty awesome overall on their figures. They've nailed the esthetics on Apollyon, Andras and Eligos. Would be nice to see them do Prime and more Autobots too. The bad thing is that they've managed to put me off on the quality aspect. The tolerances are all over the place and some of the engineering and materials seem fragile at times. Im just to afraid to mess with their expensive product. But they're doing good though! They just need to fix some general issues with their products.

Good stuff! Thanks for the review. I am excited to get this guy, but that xformation is the pits when you get to the fists into the thruster. That nose cone business ate me up too. There is a flap inside the neck joint that becomes part of the jet control/dash, so it does work. But I don't think it is in the instructions. The knees are technically a double hinge. That lower joint I assume is a by product of transformation. The actual knee is a strong ratchet. So strong, in fact, that it pulls the slot off the tab intended to hold that lower joint giving the impression that it is the joint proper. Once you get the actual knee going you get your 90.

The face details aren't deep enough to cast shadows, and the pink colour washes out a tonne of detail over the whole fig. Im sure it's an accurate colour, but doesn't translate well IRL. Might benefit from giving the extra face a thin GW ink wash.

Gotta say, that has to be one of the cleanest jet transformers. Lets hope that the final iteration clears up some of the last issues.. Great review as always man. Few questions: 1) Which target masters from xtb have you reviewed? Only one is the scourge one? Do you mean the blue special version of that? 2) Is there any reason the face and parts are light pink plastic? IIRC the G1 cartoon had more of a purple to it? The face I definitely agree looks terribly lifeless, perhaps the colour and somehow the plastic doesn't look "solid"?

Jaraxel 1) the scourge, cyclonus and they had a little exclusive one at tfcon I believe. He may have been blue. Can't remember. 2. Color is in the ballpark depending on what animation cell your looking at. I think a finished paint application would really bring it to life. 2.5 materials are fine.

You really botched the transformation. There's a piece at 17:21 that needs to be flipped around that forms part of the cockpit. Without flipping that, the head doesn't have enough clearance. That's why you couldn't get everything tabbed right around the head. The legs onward.. I just have no idea what you were doing, and neither did you. You made it really hard on yourself. I'd recommend watching benscollectibles video. Maybe READ the instructions instead of bragging about how you aren't going to, then give it another try. Don't get mad at them for a "bad transformation" if you refuse to learn the order of operations of it. Transformation was WAY smoother for him and he got a much better alt mode out of it. Sorry if that came off harsh, but man... it was tough to watch.

I watched Ben's video. He has a lot of quick cuts during the transformation to jet mode, so we don't really see a full continuous shot as he works through it. He even stated at the end of his transformation that the legs didn't "quite peg in as firmly as I'd like" so I don't see how you can suggest his efforts were "way smoother". Bobby clearly wasn't even the first or only reviewer to note a discrepancy between the instructions vs the actual transformation.

I dunno, there's just something i find really off on this one, I'm not crazy for the sculpt overall and that gloss finish makes it look really cheap to me. Personal taste it has to be said. The transformation sucks again tho, Badcube get a lot of stick for theirs but i find that BC design that way on purpose and its an exact science, where as XTB almost look like they couldn't come up with a better solution so just kept adding parts till it worked. Not feeling this at all. Great early look vid, would be good if you get your hands on a final copy down the road ans shoot a 5 min update/final thoughts one too.

nice review once again. tbh, if u Don t read the instructions, you can't comment on transformations being hard😂. that said, I do agree with it being x transbots' Achilles heel: I luuuuv apollyon, just because I don't need him in alt mode. this sculpt however looks like the best cyclonus one to date, so I need to be able to use him in botmode with galvatron or ultra magnus, or in alt mode with the scourge on the flight stands. even though it s the best one at the moment, it's a bit too much plastic for me. and I would ve liked a better color. this feels like a daka toys Kronos version of cyclonus, with an appolyon transformation. I would like generation toys to do a cyclonus 😃👌

I like this guy a lot... But, I can't stand that light pink coloring they used for the arms, legs and face. Regardless of whether or not it's "toon accurate" it just make it look a little too pastel for my taste. I'm hoping they do a second release with a white replacement for those areas, then I'm all in on this guy. (actually post transformation footage doesn't look too bad maybe under strong fluorescent lights that pink gets washed out a bit)

Let me say that first, I don't own any Xtransbots figures. And the reason I don't is because the transformation is so over engineered that its just not fun. I have yet to see someone transform one of their figures and say it was enjoyable. I enjoy transforming figures from one mode to the other and putting them in a nice pose on my shelf. I think this will be a pass for me. As awesome as he looks, if it's not fun, you might as well get a statue.

Oh , and another thing...I get a litlle annoyed by these commenters who get after you for not using instructions. Come on, we're guys! We don't look at instructions, that's why we go to You Tube and play the videos to transform these figures. My instructions for Eligos are literally untouched! Good review, Bobby, for me while it looks good, it's just too boxy and inorganic and lacks the sleek and organic look that most of the season 3 characters tend to have, just look at those feet as well...MEH, it looks like Allen (Unique toys Springer) and the fact that it's from XTB makes it an instant pass. Good review, and like Kelly Phillipsen says don't cave in to the idiots who just can't handle the truth and want to hear amazing reviews and do another apologetic review I came hear for the truth, Bobby!
