Great video as usual Bobby. I have the xtb so maybe there is some personal bias, but I would have scored it 5-4 xtb. Switching sculpt and scale. For sculpt I think it looks better with more surface detail, yet matches the toon better. For scale if matched with zeta superion it's a half inch shorter, which I think menasor should be, but about even at the top of the antenna. Would have liked to see dx9 next to zeta if it's taller that definitely wouldn't work for me. P.S. loved the grimlock video you deserve it.

One of the best comparison vids I’ve seen. Way to go. I already committed to XTB because of how much I liked the scale of the 4 limb bots with the MP autobot cars. But I’m dreading the transformation of menasor. As a stand-alone it seems the Dx9 has better playability owing to more stable posing, and the threshold to combine and un-combine is lower.

I have DX9's. When I first saw what Menasor looked like and how tall he was in comparison to Xtransbots, I knew that was the version I was going with. Wasn't even going to waste my time or money chasing Fanstoys

Based solely on this video, I have chosen ... poorly. I chose the XTB based on the pro's mentioned in the video AND I preferred the scale of the bots and cars over the larger DX9 Stunticons. That was the one thing that kept me from going with DX9; the size of the bots and alt modes. It's a shame that, for me, XTB seemed to be "the one" for the win in my book, only to see them fumble in the end. I won't lie, it hurts. At least I can enjoy them individually.

Way back in the beginning of the Menasor wars I decided to go with DX9 based on scale first and cost 2nd thinking they would be the middle of the road option for cost...boy how that cost changed! Also, I didn't want to wait for Fanstoys to complete theirs. My guess is that if FTs is stable in combined mode their gonna take 1st. Either way glad we have options for what is my favorite combiner.

As always great video!! Personally I think there so different..it's really hard to compare. Personally I think the overall look goes to the X-transbots. But the overall stability goes to the Dx9.

I went with FT and XTB. FT was a no brainer. Even if the combined mode didn’t work I’d still use them for bot mode. I rolled the dice (and it was a gamble) on XTB for combined mode over DX9 because I wasn’t a fan of DX9 Menasor’s frame aesthetics (namely the visible gears on the elbows and the big lower legs). However, I now regret my decision to go with XTB over DX9. After the price of Dr Egg and now their Menasor’s surprise frame price and build issues, XTB’s reputation has been harmed in my eyes.

Honestly, I didn’t earlier, in fact, I steer towards Emgo because his geekiness is appealing to me, and when it comes to reviews, I have a better success rate. But you are one up on the ratings now. I love how you included your girls in the voting process, while emgo complains about his cat hairs. Kids over cats any day of the week, but once someone gets their dogs involved… what can I say; I LOVES THE PUPPIES. Thank you. I like the look of this one better because of the look of the arms compared to Atilla particularly at the elbows, and the proportion of the thighs to the rest of the legs. Height is also an issue with my Zeta and TW combiners. I'll probably have to hold out for someone else. Thanks for another set of great reviews and comparison.

I think I’d be happy with either of these. I’ve gone with FT, so we’ll see how that turns out. After all this though, I think I’d prefer a combined only action figure than having all the parts-forming. I like how they do combine, the principle of it, but I’m just not sure it’s worth the compromises when so much of the figure is parts-formed, and the body bots just end up being plugged in at the back, not even being required.

l went all in on Dx9 because of the size of the combiner, but am now even happier because of how stable he is in comparison to what you've shown with XTB. I custom paint most of my MPs, so the large panels of the Dx9 create more options to work with, especially breaking up the gray on the front shins/legs and chest. My take is it's always easier to enhance color with paint and accents with some gunpla-type etching than it is to re-tool stability, engineering or the anything to do with size. For me, Dx9 Menasor for the WIN (... well, until FT comes through with theirs).

All that stuff coming apart while posing and the trailer detail showing is why I don't want fanstoys to transform. I cycle my figures out so I put them back in the box when not using them, I'm going to hate having to transform the fanstoys when it gets put away.

So glad I went in early with the DX9 for combiner mode (Wish the combiner car legs were able to click into the front). Thanks to your previous comparison review. Fans Toys will stay in their respective bot modes. And I recently picked up XTB “Youth Version” because I like the toy aesthetic and the packaging. Doubt I will buy that trailer. Other than waiting on FansToys & XTB last bots, I’m happy to close this chapter on Menasor. On to Predaking and Defensor.

XTB's bots not being in scale is *purely* a subjective call, because the Stuntacons aren't definitively one size. For every shot suggesting they are Seeker size (DX9) there is another indicating that they are the same size as an Autobot carbot.

I've seen someone pose the feet without the long heel part. It was just folded in, and it looked good. Cannot attest to how it affects the standing, I would guess it does to an extent, as I don't have it in hand yet.

Aw man, you had one DX9 thigh right in the last video, now they're back to being mistransformed. It really does look so much better if you do it properly. (EDIT: And now they're right in the close ups. Huh.) I dunno what the XTB black plastic looks like in person, but in photos and videos, it looks like the cheapest, ugliest, nastiest garbage I can imagine. It looks like the kind of plastic you use for packaging. I was going to get the XTB set when it was first announced, but I bailed when I saw that godawful bandaid plastic they used for breakdown, and I honestly feel like I dodged a bullet. The price, the nightmarish transformations, the unstable combined mode, the awful proportions that make him look like a toddler on steroids, the ugly metallic purple on motormaster, the clip-on wheels on the legs that made them look like pinewood derby cars, I really find nothing redeemable about this set and this combined mode, and feel bad for folks who didn't see that until they were too far in and got got by the price gouging and are now compelled by sunk cost fallacy to try to pretend it wasn't all a huge mistake. The DX9 one isn't perfect, but at least they didn't price gouge me right at the end, and it's stable and looks better next to the zeta bots. Menasor war over as far as I'm concerned.

I've been all in on the Fans Toys set... But, I was tempted to swoop up the Dx-9 figures, just so I could have a completed Menasor on the shelf until Fans Toys' last figure finally arrived... But, I ultimately decided to double up on Fans Toys, so I have 2 of each FT release. Although I'll have to wait I'm glad I made that call. I think when this is all said and done, FT is going to win in Bot, Vehicle, and Combined modes. So fingers crossed this set is everything I think it will be... But now I'm thinking about going 3 deep on FT, so I can have 1 for Bot, and 1 for each combined mode, because the Toon and Studio Ox versions are just so different from each other.

Yo quick question I ended up getting the XTB Menasor with the left arm and left leg XTB figures and the right arm and right leg DX9 figures by mistake.....Is that going to matter because of size differences when combining them???? Please let me know yo?

I think that was pretty fair. DX-9's better all around. The only reason I'm sticking with the XTB is because his looks. For me, It just looks better. But I'm not looking forward to that XTB nightmare transformation. 😓 I'm just going to get them in combine mode, put them in an A stance and there they shall stay forever. That was my initial plan... XtB for combine mode and FansToys for individual robots modes. But, that could change if FansToys mange to pull up a better combiner. I don't know... this whole XTB trailer debacle has been one huge let down. Makes me worry about their upcoming Defensor set. Is that one going to be like their Menasor? There's always the MMC one, but that combiner is going to be the size of their Bruticus. Too small. We'll see. Thanks for taking the time to make this comparison video. Great work as always. 👍👍👍

I like elements of all 3 sets and my dilemma is figuring out which set to display in what mode. I like the overall aesthetic of XTB best, but scale is an issue in various forms. I love DX9’s stability and durability, individual bots are more poseable than FT, but combined mode isn’t visually appealing. FT is making some good looking individual bits and has great materials and paint, but the individual bots are the least articulated and the combined mode renders do nothing for me.

Good Comparison Review. I can't wait for the 3-way battle. I chose Fanstoys for my team. I really like the Alt mode for the XTB Motormaster, to be honest, but I just can't buy any more XTB figures. What's the saying....fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.....no more XTB for me after Boost and Hatch. I really like DX9 Build quality...I have never had one that didn't feel solid and well made that I can think of....too bad that they have disappeared.... I really hope the combined mode for FT will be better than XTB and look better than DX9. I guess time will tell. I feel like parts forming IS necessary to make a combiner stable and doesn't bother me anymore. I like the accessory gimmick on the XTB vehicles where they did a nod to the original G1 vehicle weapons that were included with the figures. As always enjoy the videos....

Great versus. I think the aggravation factor is huge... these are meant to be transformed and posed and combined, after all. If it isn't an enjoyable experience to move them between modes at least occasionally, what's the point of having all that engineering?

The irony in that the XTB's smaller size would probably fit for those who collect 45cm combiners (Jinbao's KO OS Predaking/Bruticus/Devastator, Jujiang Superion)... and yet those collectors probably would not be able to afford XTB prices.

I hate that I can't argue with a single point here. I have the XTB. I am still happy with my choice, albeit I think XTB needs to send out some replacement parts and upgrades FOC. I'm not holding my breath. I'm messing around in CAD to make some "fix" parts of my own but I'm wondering if there is anyone else out there more qualified that is already on the case. But Intimidator is an ultra stylized version, completely not G1, so the comparison makes no sense, even disregarding the size. I do own it and love it, I am using it with my legends scale collection, the size is perfect for them

I like the darker colors on Monolith, but that transformation to get the combined mode was such a mess. If I had my choice I'd go with DX9, but the G1 toy version.

Not that one would ever pose a combiner with their legs pointing straight back and i’m pretty sure the tensioned joints would behave the same way, AND i’m only mentioning because it’s part of your usual routine when it come to range of motion, but you only tested the range and durability of the legs straight forward. Never straight back.. which you usually do... “for the full monty / run”..

They could've essentially just turned the trailer inside out in a fun, intuitive manner, but no, they just had to incorporate that less-than-useless "base mode" that no one cared about. Parts forming and too G1 in the bad sense for both. I can see why there’d be a market for that aesthetic and/or sentiment/ideology but can’t say they resonate with me. If I wanted something that G1 might as well get a statue or some Hasbro RED / super 7 ultimates thing. Has the historic accuracy and doesn’t carry the pretence of any substantive transformation ingenuity or even plausibility. Haven't transformed my XTB into monolith yet. I think it will require a large coffee and many swear words later... It looks better than dx9 tho , even though dx9 is bigger. I hope my monolith dosnt fall over. I hope xtb learn from this and make a better defensor.

I'm not really impressed with either Menasor. DX9's set is fine, but I want something just a little nicer, more "premium-looking", I guess - I've tried to convince myself it'll be good enough, but I just can't quite do it. X-Transbots got the look a bit better, but with the absolute mess that is the trailer, poor design choices (the ankles, the knee screws, and the base mode, for example), the false advertising and lies, and the numerous QC issues, it convinced me to sell my set. FansToys are the only one left but you can't even get them for reasonable prices. Dragstrip was going for almost twice the price only a day or two after release, which is to say nothing about the rest of the set. Pre-orders are pretty much impossible to get (I've been trying for about a year now), reissues cost way more than the original MSRP, and it seems even well-known retailers are getting into scalping (again, just look at Dragstrip). As much as I want them, they're just not worth almost twice the price that they should be, and I refuse to support that scalping behaviour. So I guess I won't be getting a Menasor any time soon, unless FansToys sorts out their stock issues and reissue pricing, amongst other issues.

Crazy Menasor wars. I bought the first DX9 release and sold it, bought all the XT bots, bought all the FT bots so far waiting to make a decision about what to keep.
