I'll wait for a reissue where they correct the back part of shoulder piece colour to green, add 2 peg in points for the waist/chest, darken the grey for the legs and deepen the grooves between the chest grilles to resemble more of the air intake for the heli mode. Meanwhile i will stick to my Apache.

My favorite Masterpiece Springer. I had MMC, Fans Toys and Xtransbots but sold my MMC and Fans Toys versions. The plastic replacement shoulders are so much better than the diecasts as they save a lot of paint chippings from happening. I waited for the shoulder replacements to come in before even transforming him.

Great review Ben, X-Transbot Springer is G1 Toon . Fanstoys springer shoulder pads are too big , there is No yellow on springer legs and No tires shows when he's in robot mode . People who comment saying fanstoys kill it Go watch transformers TV series season 3 . X-Transbots nailed G1 Springer

The landing gear is not loose...the two tiny tabs on each wheel are supposed to tab into the slots when you fold them out, so they lay almost flat.

Have to disagree on XTB’s color accuracy. That neon green matches the original and modern toys, but the animation model featured a more earthy green, which is featured on the FT figure. The neon green isn’t a deal breaker, but those hip ratchets may be.

Probably the best looking MP Springer in my book. However, I think I'll wait for a "fixed" re-release to come out. No way I'm paying that much for a figure to come with paint chipping as standard.

Did you buy it yet, as it now comes with replacement shoulder pieces? I had to email TFSource for it but, I finally got it. BBTS mails it with the item now. He's definitely my favorite Springer. I had Fans Toys and sold him soon after my shoulder replacement pieces came in.

So disappointing. Every time Xtrans almost kills it they end up with QC issues. The paint the hip hatchets the lack of holding the sword is a huge miss. I don’t get it. So close to knocking a figure out of the park then boo.

I prefer the look of the XTB. I nearly always prefer the look of the XTB, the proportions, the articulation, the accessories and features. Yet I never really buy their products because so many people end up having breakages and QC issues, and the transformations are often so very frustrating and overengineered. So I end up buying the Fanstoys versions instead, and following that I find myself looking at the XTB and wishing I had that instead and it worked without any problems. Gorgeous looking products though, and this is no exception.

They could have easily implemented a tabbing system for the chest. It's so close to being perfect, but the one mistake they made is a fatal one.

One? The back is a disgrace considering their ultra magnus is genius looking. They've put zero thought into it. The chest is terrible.

@@sw1000xg and because of it, we have a very easy and straightforward transformation and proportionate shoulder pieces. That's more than I can say about Apache, which also has a prominent backpack, but a messy transformation in the lower section, shoulder pieces (and arms in general) that are too big, and terrible looking legs.

@@sw1000xg I have it, and that assessment that it has 'zero engineering' is far from accurate. It is well engineered otherwise, but the one flaw they made was a terrible one, which makes it all the more infuriating.

MMC Saltus doesnt have any ratchets in the legs and as a result it cant hold poses due to all the diecast it contains and its the only design flaw i can compain about with Saltus. Virtus seems to be even heavier and i dont think it would hold very well without any ratchets, maybe ratchets with more teeth would allow more stance options

I've yet to find a third party springer that can do his Cybertronian car form right, it always looks to bulky, and not how the sunbow cartoons make it look.

Same. Even if they could get the G1 toy aesthetic I'd be happy with that but third party car modes just don't look good to me, some of the helicopter modes neither. Still waiting for that MP one day.

I like the less bulk on the arms but that's about it. It looks like they just couldn't fix everything and finally had to release it was is or lose more money. No tab on the chest, paint chipping, etc. Just rookie things.

Bloody Hell he's Big!! (Probably the title of someone's Sex Tape) Great video Ben, that clear circular blade is screaming out of an Airbrush, make it look like 4 blades in motion!! I love the look of this guy mate, the proportions are almost spot on, and, I dont mind the backpack. I always thought Fans Toys had massive 80's shoulder pads. I've never been a fan of springer, but this guy looks the part!!

I'm going to ignore all the QC issues and the cost cutting moves, and I still can't buy this Thing. The Torso area is all wrong to me. The air inlet has to be smaller than the solid top half of the chest and XTB got it Reversed...it looks too buck toothed. Maybe V2.
