X vs Zero but with Japanese voices

After seeing UltimateMaverickX remake my childhood I had to look for things to nitpick and well I wanted Japanese voice acting because anime.
Once again he made the perfect animation and I just threw some Japanese voices on there

I love that the "What am I fighting for?!" shout was used during the flashes of X and Zero's moments together because it adds a layer to the scene. In the original, it was done to emphasize that no matter how hard X tried to steel himself, he couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger on his best friend. Now it doesn't just do that, but it also provides an answer to Zero's question, even if he didn't see it at this point in time. He fights for those who believe in. And he believes in X.

What I always loved about the UltimateMaverickX fight is that it shows X's fatal flaw in the final stage of the battle: his kindness. And that if it weren't for it, he would be the strongest in the WHOLE SERIES. It is stated countless times throughout the series that X is a pacifist and is constantly on a mental battle with himself over if violence is necessary or not; if he's doing the right thing by being a maverick hunter, in contrast to Zero, who is always a "strike first" type of guy, who hates mavericks to the bone. X is also stated to posses UNLIMITED POTENTIAL, something that isn't ever stated to be the case for anyone else, throughout the entire series, but his kindness and pacifist nature keeps him from realizing his full potential, as he always holds himself back. X is even stated to be the ultimate reploid by Sigma himself, and the number 1 hunter. And all of that is as he is constantly keeping himself in check, even if unconsciously, because he doesn't want to fight. That's exactly why I believe that X truly is the strongest in all the series, with Zero a close second, but still weaker. However, X's kindness puts him on par with Zero or even slightly below him. If X could just push his kindness to the side and fight with all he has, he would be unstoppable. And that is what is shown in the battle both from the original video and this one with voiceovers: X, for a moment, lost himself in the battle to the point he forgot he was fighting not to kill Zero but bring him back, and he overwhelms Zero WITHOUT ANY ARMOR EQUIPPED, and would have KILLED HIM, if for a fraction of a second his reasoning didn't come back and he discharged the charged shot up in the sky instead of Zero's face, which, in the video at least, marked a draw between them, or maybe, even a loss for X, since his shot at Zero may have been done in a way that it wouldn't kill him but just incapacitate him, while Zero, in that form, certainly went for the kill. Also, worth mentioning that in the fight in the video, X is certainly not fighting to kill Zero, but to try and bring him back, while Zero is full on murder mode, and X still holds his own as a force to be reckoned with. It takes Zero going at full power to be able to take down X, who's always holding back, and like I mentioned above, in the small moment X let himself go and reached to the depths of his power, he didn't even need any armor equipped to overwhelm Zero and almost kill him. Sure, its only a fan video, but it goes really well with the lore: awakened, or true form Zero wanting to kill X at all costs, and X just trying to bring his friend back. Just think about it: in the games lore, Zero is always a no-nonsense type of guy who goes on full power to destroy his enemies (even in his good form, he hates mavericks after all) and X, on the other hand, is always holding himself back. It's scary to think how much stronger X really is. X also shaped Zero's morality to the point that, even if he was created by the rival and enemy of X's creator, he still upheld the ideology that X had of bringing peace, to the point he died for it. Zero always trusted X to know the right thing to do, which just shows how much he believed in X and saw him as a true hero. I know that Inafune wanted Zero to be the actual Megaman X, and that the actual X we got was because Capcom didn't want a main character that was to different from Megaman, but still, I love the X we got way more. X has been my favourite character from all the Megaman timeline ever since I was a kid, although, back then, it was because of his design, his armors with different skills, and nowadays its more because of how much of a great character he is.

I used to think Zero was stronger because he never hesitated. Come a few years later, after reading your comment, I am convinced that X has always been stronger than Zero--both physically and morally. You are correct that X shaped Zero's morality. In this sense, X was, in fact, just as much as Zero's mentor as Zero was to him. Zero taught X that sometimes, you have to fight for what you believe in--in contrast to this, X taught Zero exactly what he SHOULD be fighting for.

X has the Ultimate A.I. and unlimited capability for growth. He's essentially the result of successfully replicating a Human conciousness, combined with computer precision. He could very well have become the most powerful machine in the entire Megaman Franchise. However, it never came to that point. X was not designed with Combat in mind for his primary purpose. That's why he needs the armors to realize his full combat potential. It's an optional boost for him. Dr. Light wanted him to bridge the gap between Human and Robot. To see a world where they truly co-exist. Which is one reason X was given so much emphasis on the ability to empathize with others. He connects on a personal level, unlike any other machine out there with the exception of Zero. They're friends. Which as a human talking about two robots being friends, seems silly right? Zero appears to possess a similiar empathy capability to X. (It's speculated that Dr. Wily could have learned about X's design from Bass after he escapes Dr. Light's lab in Megaman 7) However, given his design was entirely based around Combat. He probobly has a similiar intelligence programing but with less Empathy. Zero was meant to be a destroyer. What I've always loved about the two of them is that they're complete opposites personality-wise. X is a Pacifist, and Zero is a Fighter. Zero doesn't require armor upgrades to compete with X in battle. In X5 the Fight against X is with the Ultimate Armor. And Zero is Red. (With the Virus if you got the Failure end) We don't get to fight Black Zero. When they actually fight, regardless of the story route chosen it ends in a draw. Zero is the first to regain conciousness to defend X from Sigma's attack. This tells me Zero was in better shape after the battle. I've always taken this to mean Zero fights Sigma first as far as the Game is concerned. X's character growth overtime is questionable because of how the X series was managed. I don't know how to think of the Timeline because of the developer's dispute. I personally include X6 7 and 8 (and would prefer to include CM) as canon for my prefered sequence of Events because X7 shows X going down the Bureaucratic path. Which I know people hated, but I agree with it being within X's character. Given how much he hates fighting, it makes sense that he would get frustrated after so many Sigma plots recycling the same conflicts without getting to the route of the problem. That's what X would do in a position of Government, rather than a glorified Cop fighting the same endless battles. (Ruler of Neo Arcadia perhaps?) The Zero series, can pick up after Zero's ending in X6. That scene though, can fit literally anywhere afterwards on the Timeline. I wish Capcom would do something more with Megaman already.....

Oh hell no. This is a novelty at best. It detracts from the original's pacing and matching of the music and some voices are just flat out badly done/timed like falcon armor/gaea armor giga attacks and even like the sigma flashback. Your choice of voices really did add a ton to the animation, and made me see the fight in a different way. 5:59 The use of Wily’s dialogue, Omega Zero’s infamous quote, and the sheer heartbreak in X’s voice makes it feel like both Reploids, in that moment, have became the worst versions of themselves. In Zero’s case, he’s became everything Wily wanted him to become, a mindless destroyer who existed only to carry out one madman’s vendetta. But in X’s case, it’s the complete opposite. Keep in mind, this is complete headcanon based off of the X4 Manga, but in that, the Ultimate Armor made X downright BLOODTHIRSTY. It felt like the sheer heartbreak of that, along with the fact that X couldn’t keep up with Zero using anything else, forced him to resort to its power, becoming the antithesis of Dr Light’s hopes. This likely is what lead to him going into Unlimited Potential mode, since in the Day of Sigma mode, X was running on pure instinct, no thoughts. So when Zero screams “WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOR?!?”, it feels like, for just a moment, Zero’s consciousness returned to him, and that’s why X hesitates, and fails to pull the trigger.

what I really don't like with this remake is when ultimatemaverickx changed the sucker punch to Nova Strike, the sucker punch felt more impactful IMO. also one feedback for the voices is on the "warning" phase. the music and warning alert go so well together that it reduced the impact when it was blended with voices.. now overall, fucking awesome!! the voices added so much emotions!

Kind of. In the games (16 bit one) when X is badly damaged, he begins to "pant" and his head crystal flashes. It signifies how his systems are struggling with the strain. The reason he gets more powerful when he's like that is similar to a human. Remember, X was designed to be the bridge between human and robot. So when his systems begin to struggle, he gets stronger similar to cases of hysterical strength in humans. Extenuating circumstances cause a person to show strength far beyond what a human can do normally. A good example is a car falls off the jack and crushes the mechanics leg, the other mechanic saw it, and in a burst of adrenaline, lifted the car up and held it up long enough for his co-worker to crawl out from under it. We can't study hysterical strength though, because the times it's shown are times of great fear, often deadly incidents.

In retrospect, the battle with Awakened Zero wasn't as interesting as an animated cutscene could have been. Of course, I'd want that to still be a playable encounter. I think that Awakened Zero should have been a more difficult and unpredictable battle actually.
