Another excellent ride ! Curious to know, what is your plan on that closed bit of road if a large rockfall starts while you're half way along it ? It looks a bit perilous in some sections and like it could go at any time !

I'd be very interested to see the same route with the apex. I mean that's a wheel advertised as the everything wheel, right? How that would drain the battery. I guess it would be worse because it's a smaller battery, am I correct?

I would never take the APEX on a long ride because there is no seat. And, I no longer have the APEX so the question is mute for me.

My blitz does the same thing in regards to it being very hard or almost impossible to pull the tire off the ground at a standstill. I bet Ron would find it gets easier to do as he gets used to the new Xway. At first I couldn't do it on my Blitz but after getting used to the suspension I figured out how to do it, it seems to be a matter of different timing and more effort lol
@t3lva288Ай бұрын
Yea I’ve been riding my blitz for a while and it’s a lot more harder to do compared to my buddy lynx
@ryangross5446Ай бұрын
@t3lva288 I've noticed spring suspensions usually have more pop in them compared to air even after adjustments. The spring just has more spring I guess lol

Hi Marty is the xway as tall as the ET max?
@grb1969Ай бұрын
One simple upgrade to the hydraulic or air suspension systems would be to have an electronic valve that’s controlled by two force sensors, which would proportionally switch between your preferred dampening presets and zero dampening. When the shock is weighted due to street perturbations, normal dampening would be in effect BUT when the rider initiates a downforce (in order to assist in jumping an obstacle) then the proportionality values would eliminate dampening to maximize the spring rebound to become jump-assisted (for curbs, speed bumps, etc. {This tech already exists and it’s stupid-simple, so almost no engineering necessary.} If incremental changes are the norm, then this would be the next step towards improving the existing design… IMHO. 😊 I’m still hoping for a Bose style electronic suspension w/ 30-100cm jump-assist but that will require the MTB or MC industries to implement at scale before trickling down to EUCs. Those crappy Boston Robotics droids can jump several feet, why can’t EUCs? 😊

Hey Marty, out of curiosity was your tire PSI around 28 like you usually run? I think you're probably right in that the thicker and stronger magnets are sapping away some of the efficiency of these newer wheels. The older wheels seems way more efficient from my experiences, id imagine it's a combination of smaller magnets and more conservative firmware, since 2 or 3 years ago the demand for acceleration wasn't nearly as strong as it is now and wheels could be more tuned for range and efficiency. Awesome video and the Xway looks really good to me
@ElectricUnicyclesАй бұрын
Yes, I put ~30psi in the tire.

@@ElectricUnicycles I run about 36 in mine and have gotten 52 miles out of the 2400wh battery averaging 27mph. I'm happy with the range but I wonder how the new Panther will perform range-wise.
@ElectricUnicyclesАй бұрын
@@ryangross5446 What is your riding weight? ~50-miles at 27-mph for a 2400wh wheel seems extraordinarily high based on my experience (for flat ground rides). My riding weight is ~200-pounds.

@@ElectricUnicycles 145lbs haha im a stringbean. that ride in particular i also rode seated to try and conserve the most battery. other than that ride id say i usually get between 40 and 45 miles comfortably

it's a faster acceleration compare to the Blitz ?
@ElectricUnicyclesКүн бұрын
I thought so. I think the Blitz is faster at the top end but I don't think any wheel currently is faster from standstill. If you really enjoy acceleration and don't care as much about the top end, the X-Way is the way to go.

It's interesting to me that it feels less stable higher up. Reason is I've watched a number of "tall" bicycle riders that ride custom bicycles 6 feet in the air. They all claim balance is actually easier high up. like balancing a pencil on your finger is harder than balancing a long tube from Christmas wrapping. Or balancing a hammer vs a rake. But it might be that the auto balance part of EUC makes it different.
@ElectricUnicyclesАй бұрын
Yeah, I'm sure the dynamics of the electric unicycle is significantly different than bicycles or balancing a pencil, etc. But the fact remains that for us stability is increased as the feet get closer to the ground
@LegitSpeedDesignsАй бұрын
Two questions...1) Is the range worst than a ETmax? 2) Are you charging on 210v @ 19amps? Didn't think 110v could do that....
@ElectricUnicyclesАй бұрын
Yes, as I mentioned in the video, I was plugged into a 240-volt outlet. I do believe that it has worse range than the ET Max, but that's just a hunch at this point. More to come hopefully.

@ElectricUnicycles I was considering this wheel honestly but knowing that the range might be potentially worse than the et Max (because that's what I have right now) is a deal breaker for me. Sherman L might be the way go go. I've noticed on trail rides I'm always the first to run out of battery I have to turn around and barely get home at like 3% riding 40 to 50 miles average speed 20 on trails 35 to 42 on road runs to the next trail

Lemme see someone drop into a half pipe and ride it out to a 360 spin up the other side and ride back down... then I'll be impressed. Otherwise you might as well have an electric bicycle so you can carry more stuff and if you run out of power you can pedal your ars out of wherever your stuck.
