I want an articulated X-Wing as much as anyone else, but the art department messing up is anything but unlikely. You already have the updated images, but when the article first released the Renegades spread had the U-Wing base with a scaled-up X-Wing ship token.

The first card in the TIE Reaper spread is Decoy, a 2 point EPT.

Super excited about this wave. Hopefully these titles give the T-65’s some maneuverability and maybe an arc dodger. On one of the S foils card I see a boost icon. My disappointment is NO K2-SO!!! I don’t understand why he is not in his expansion, he was left out of the Rogue 1 expansion, why would he be left out of this one? Very disappointed with FFG’s decisions to leave him of either expansion.

My guess is we'll see him included with the next rebel epic ship. Possibly the Hammerhead corvette for the Rogue One tie-in.

Saw and Finn on the same ship could be interesting. Add a blank with Finn, use a target lock to reroll, change all focus results to crits. Saw on the Ghost is pretty ridiculous as well, because now the Ghost has better, cheaper Expertise and the health to soak up Saw's self-damage.

You can see the symbol for an EPT on the upgrade in TIE Reaper's spread. It's picture looks like the artwork for Decoy.

I believe it is not a K turn on the x wing flip-able card but rather a talon roll, so as to keep the t-65's on par with the t-70's. Same with the other side which most likely gives it the ability to boost (like the t-70). overall great video and I already preordered both of these expansions :)

You are totally right. the foils will open and close on the x wing because the flip card like the u-wing flip upgrade card will have a foil open and close ability. I really hope they make u-wings viable so that I didnt just buy that expansion for experitse haha.

Yep, they just verified that the X-Wing has articulated S-foils in the latest news article about Saw's Renegades. Not sure if this expansion will do a whole lot for U-Wings, but it certainly makes original X-Wings a whole lot better!

As of the picture, there are 5 PS1 X-Wings and no non-unique pilots for the U-Wing. Could be an artist error, very interesting if not. Also interesting to see there don't seem to be any out and out U-Wing "fixes" - I know it's newer, but it's not exactly top tier atm so it would nice to see them get a little something.

Ah you're right. I was looking at the wrong and didn't even notice. 5 copies of the PS1 X-Wing confirms that it's 20 points (or less but that's unlikely).

On the other hand we have shots of two U-Wing bases and 3 X-Wing bases, so the cardboard suggests a 4-6 pilot split. I think it's likely there are two non-unique U-Wing pilots in there (or a non-unique and a K2SO?!) and the other art is either wrong or deliberately unspoiled.

The Cardboard Dungeon I am a little salty cos I just bought my 2nd t70, but I await your proper review of the renegades :D you've been pretty instrumental to learning what purchases to make game-wise, my first few purchases were so let off aesthetics (still worked out at least)

You are absolutely right - is is Decoy. Interesting choice to include. Maybe it has synergy with one of the other two unique pilots whose abilities we don't yet know.

I hope they add some decent weathering effects to the reaper. It's going to look a bit plain and boring for a large base ship otherwise.

That looks like the talon roll icon to me, so blurry tho.. you can also just barely make out some text where it sounds like you have an extra agility die as well

I didn't believe they'd actually make them. I thought for sure we'd get Blue Squadron X- and Y-Wings. But, Saw and his band popped up in Rebels and that show is getting close to the Rogue One timeline so it makes sense.

The Cardboard Dungeon A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. I can see them doing another Rogue One pack, possibly the Rebels getting a hero's of the rebellion or Scarif pack, maybe Hammerhead for epic. For the Empire possibly an Imperial cargo shuttle, or Krennic's shuttle. But all of these are hard to see in the near future due to the surplus of Star Wars films and media, with an evergrowing collection of new and even more imaginative starships. (Not a complaint in the slightest)

I now I already talked to you a lot on fb about my excitement over Saw’s Renegades and a new U-Wing, but the more I think about it, the could have just made it two partisan x-wings as 1) we never saw a partisan U-Wing in the movie, only X-Wings, and 2) with all the cool upgrades for it and a model that can actually open and close its S-Foils, people would get more for their money in my opinion.

Yeah, that's a good point. I think they included the U-Wing for a couple of reasons. First, it has appeared in Rebels with Saw's group in season 4. Second, most serious X-Wing players already own at least 4 X-Wings so it's kind of nice that they included 5 copies of the new non-unique pilot with this so you don't need to buy multiple copies. I just hope one of the U-Wing pilots has a great ability that will make people want to fly it. The original U-Wing kind of fell flat in that department. Best thing out of that box were the two copies of Expertise.

The Cardboard Dungeon Yeah I totally get that. I came into the game late and tend to fly T-70’s and rarely use my one and only T-65, but for veterans of the game, that makes sense. As far as the old U-Wing goes, I have a squad I put together with Cassian as the pilot that I think may change your mind about it if it ends up working well, I’ll let you know how it turns out!

skyguy683 My favorite build is 4x T-70s with flight assist Astromech and integrated Astromech. Its a strong list if you fly right.

The Falcon has the title that gives it Evade as well, but both it and the Ghost have solid lore reasons for it - Han and Hera are exceptionally skilled pilots and their "look at that piece of junk" ships have been extensively modified. The TIE Reaper is a bottom heavy, atmospheric troop transport. It's hard to imagine it taking any kind of evasive action...

Scrambler is defensive, not offensive. It makes you harder to hit when the affected ship attacks your ship at range 1.

Imperials have the best names. Krennics, "die result" feels like its saying "anything but a blank"? It could fit in so many builds to let a support/distraction ship become a shield killer.(or make an all the eggs in one basket ship even more expensive)

Blank is a die result. Guidance Chips is worded the same "you may change one die result to a hit..." and it definitely works with blank results.

woo hoo... Imperials got a Tie Shuttle (Bomber) with 2 shields, this is like buying the raider for palp, just cheaper and for dictator krennic... No, I take that back, The raider is amazing in epic, this reaper though, I don't see it making its way into many list.

I'll admit, I didn't see partisan X-Wings coming, especially this far out from Rogue One. Another Falcon, especially the cool "brand new" look we're seeing in Solo where the ship is actually substantially different from the Falcons we already have? That's a safe prediction.

I think they are trying to push the Imperial faction in a direction where it has a lot of options for, and wants to include, a crew-bearing support ship in a lot of builds. People have been asking for X-Wing fixes for a long time, and they've been trying to drop them in where they can - Integrated Astromech helps, Flight Assist Astromech is great. This looks like it has tools to get both of those plus the S-foil modification onto an X-Wing. Hopefully this will be the definitive fix for the ship. I'd love to see it compete in the same league as the TIE Defender.
