I gave Vader Marksmanship & Cluster missiles so when he comes across a big ship I can lock on and use marksmanship because he has 2 actions then on attack phase, I can discard the missiles to do two three point attacks and then if I roll focus icons on the 2 rolls, I can turn one to a critical hit and the rest into regular hits. (Note: Marksmanship applies to when attacking so it does apply to both rolls but only one focus icon becomes a critical, so if you roll 2 focus on the first attack, it becomes a critical and a regular hit, if you also get 2 focus on the second attack as well, it becomes two regular hits.)

I don't think anyone really likes a stressed Vader--it typically results in a lot of death by Force choke.

Concerning your set up situation there, the correct answer would have been to send the Y-Wing to intercept him. If this has an Ion Turret, which it should have, he will just annoy vader who will have to either break off and deal with him, or constantly be threatened by ion tokens. The rest of the rebel list would still have plenty of firepower to kill the rest of your list.

Any tips on bombers? As these are difficult to use and easily stifled by your opponent, some discussion on good bomber use would be helpful. Between being bumped and the expert handling upgrade, it's sure tough to make and keep target locks. Thanks, love the videos.

Just watching again, what do you think about using Expose on Vader? it helps make up for the sad 2 attack and he can still focus or TL with it. of course you'd be boosting/ barreling out of firing arcs before that.

Problem is, he can't boost...unless you use the "engine upgrade" modification. Great videos thought!!

I thought he had to have the (crossed wrench) icon in his bar to even use the "engine upgrade." What am I missing?

I guess this is why nobody ever flies up the center - because any set of ships on either side can fuck you up

Ive been using vader and a tie punisher (redline I think is the pilot) with squad leader on vader so that I can have the punisher both target lock and focus.

Can Vader do the same action twice? IE two barrel rolls? or Boost + Boost?

no. performing the same action twice is against game rules.

Around 5:43 you confused me...what are the pilot skills of the oncoming ships? You make it sound like DV can do his second action after the enemy moves.

i've run Vader like that, only i gave him outmanouver as an elite pilot talent, he dished out a lot of damage really quickly. i've also run him like that with Soontir Fel with push the limit, yeah he's stressed after keeping up with Vader, but he has a focus token if its needed

Hey I'm a big fan of this game and using Darth Vader, and have you thought about using him with an elite pilot card such as "predator" or "outmaneuver"? when being a decoy? I'd love to hear your thoughts on that.

Christopher Inch use predator and adv targeting. once locked on can put evade and focus. does great damage and can lock on to next ship

The only problem with this would be if the rebels have the Falcon, which is a great counter to Vader

how are you adding the engine upgrade to Vader ? his upgrades are missles and the medal icon thingy right?

ModificAtions And titles Modifications and titles are special upgrades that do not appear in any ship’s upgrade bar. Any ship may equip a modification or title unless the card is restricted to a specific type of ship. Each ship is limited to one modification and one title. taken directly from ff website

Well, actually if rebels split up or go after Vader with Y-wing, they can ionize him. Since I am a new player, my opinion may be wrong, but limiting Vader's maneuverability sounds good for me (if anybody can test it in 100pts game [I've played 60pts so far], please,do it).

It'll depend on the range, as usually Vader will be able to outmaneuver (depending on upgrades and the like) or if he just focuses and evades, suddenly you have three die to beat a high chance of negating everything. That said, it all depends on lists and deployment, if you have staggered your deployment to help with fast movers after seeing a list, then you may be okay, but then you could get slowplayed and be at rough ranges for soaking a lot of damage. It's one reason this game is so good looking, everyone has a counter out there somehow for something.

for like 4 points you could just bring a rocket. Something to try and snipe an important target other wise It's not really worth it

nothing about DareVader? I'm disappointed! I expected him to be highest on your list! Vader + Daredevil + Engine Upgrade. You can boost/barrel roll and then Daredevil (which does not count as a boost action) to get behind anybody, or crash into just about anybody if you need to avoid their shot

Every one wants to kill Vader, when in actuality Vaders Propercy is true. He is the one who kills the Emperor. He fullfills his destiny. Obi Wan was right about him all along. Luke would never of been able too kill the Emperor or Vader. Kill Vader and the Dark Side would win.
