These quick builds are by far the best design permutation from AMG - I'm really excited to play these both officially and unofficially with quick builds :)

These would have been perfect in the old point system. Now, I am not sure if there is enough granularity. Hol is a YWing, so having the stress will be very limiting for him - especially since you cannot mitigate with an R4.

@@fieldmarshall No argument from me there. I'd certainly welcome back the granularity of at least 2x the points. But I do want to commend AMG where they seem to be taking steps in positive direction. Limited 'game-breaking' quick builds has potential in almost every system 2.0/2.5/Objective/Scenario play.

While I haven't played X-Wing in years now, and not sure how I feel about the squad building changes overall, I do really like the idea of Quickbuild Pilots with unique upgrades the standard ships might not have. It's like Legendary items in some RPG games, you can't enchant or modify them, but they each do something unique a normal item might not be able to, without replacing the usefulness of the normal item's versatility.

Does anyone know if that Death Star trench terrain piece they used in the game play stream comes with the battle of yavin expansion? Looks like it was segmented pieces so could easily fit in the box

The wording on Sigma 7 confuses me. "During the system phase, you may spend a charge to acquire a lock on the defender." Who is the defender? The defender isn't declared until the pilot engages in the combat phase.

Yeah good catch. Surely it should read "an opponent's ship" or "an object".

There were a few cards that AMG had stated during the live playthrough that had incorrect wording. The final product will have clarified terms

Are the BoY pilots not compatible with the standard game???? That's what I thought, and probably more appropriate for a more thematic pack.

I'm pretty sure that these pilots are confirmed to be compatible with the standard game; just tailored for the thematics. It's a common game design move you normally see from Games Workshop where a campaign book can have major competitive rules updates. This one lets AMG explore some new rather unpredictable and interesting combinations without letting us theoretically break their pilot abilities with upgrade combos that in turn cause nerfs and changes.

So far these have all been stated to be Standard legal. Will see in the future if any get Restricted or Banned to Extended.

I really wish I could try out all the stuff that has changed with X-Wing lately. Unfortunately, the game is completely dead in my area.
