Works quite well David. Thanks for finding the fix

You're welcome! The controls feel less bright with the frame rate capped at 30fps I guess because of increased latency, but I don't think it's terrible for a semi to be a little less responsive to the controls. ❤️🚛 I'm glad it helps. 😎😍

VR? At the end when youre outside the truck there is a horrid stutter and you dont seem to notice it, lol.

I've not tried - many VR solutions make me feel ill or I'll get addicted too easily lol. I'll go back and check but I wonder if that's when I changed the status of Lossless Scaling? 😋😎

Hi David, thanks for the informative video.. it really helps for someone who is looking for smooth performance in ETS 2 & ATS... I have one query.. my game is running very smooth in 4k, 40 FPS without any issue but when I record the same through Geforce experience.., the video is not showing smooth as the game is running.. can you please help me to resolve my issue.
@DavidSteele5 ай бұрын
Your graphics card is working extra hard to game and encode the video. You could try limiting the frame rate to 30fps and/or reducing the encoder recording bitrate a little. Sometimes reducing the bitrate makes no difference to the perceived video quality but a big difference to the performance. I swapped from ShadowPlay to OBS Studio because my CPU appeared to be limiting how well the NVIDIA software was recording, and I wonder if ShadowPlay records at the lower rate not the doubled rate. OBS appears to record at the higher rate - may be worth a shot? Good luck!

@@DavidSteele thanks for the prompt reply... I have locked the frame 40 fps in RTSS and in the game. I have observed that when I open the lossless scaling and record the video..my video is not smooth... when I close the lossless scaling and record the video is smooth as seen in game... I don't know what setting I can do in shadowplay or lossless scaling..

@@t2patel Shadowplay likely records the video before you double it with Lossless Scaling, so maybe try using OBS Studio?

Hi. Would this work with 3x4k tv’s. I have those nasty dips, and because i need v-sync, its feels awfull when i loose a few frames. I7-12700k 4080 16Gb 32Gb 3200 3x43” 4k 60hz tv

It'll work with any type of display - you could try capping your frame rate to 30fps and doubling the rate. You may occasionally get drops but if your game is CPU limited, you've a more powerful CPU pushing data to your GPU. Good luck!
@DavidSteele3 ай бұрын
...I should also add that the application has been updated a couple of times since this video and now supports G-Sync and, perhaps by association on my own machine, V-Sync works much better for me too. 👍😎

@@niklasbille8729 You're welcome! Capping the frame rate makes a big difference to smoothness - my i7-10700K can't maintain 30fps in a rainy city, or a modern city like San Francisco in the dry, but beyond this limitation it's smoother capped at 30fps than letting it stretch for 60fps. Roll on DX12 support... 🤗

@@DavidSteele those Citys are tough. I have around 45-60 in there with rain. Now i have tried LS and cap 30fps and x2 Framegen only. Now its butter smooth in towns. 2 years of trying everthing, and finaly a fix. 😘

I am GPU limited - would this program still help?
@DavidSteele2 ай бұрын
Potentially yes. There's a small frame rate penalty associated with using the application, it was around 10% for me. Assuming you see the same reduction, if for example can normally see 40fps, you may only see say 36fps before doubling it. You likely wouldn't be able to double 40fps to 80fps, but you may be able to go from 40fps to potentially 72fps. However, any slowdown would be very obvious, so capping your game to say 30fps should ensure consistent 60fps gameplay. Your mileage may vary using 3X and 4X frame doubling! :p

@@DavidSteele I tried it, did different runs and tests. Not a fan. It is causing all sorts of artefacts (not compatible with snowymoon but even without it artefacts do happen), motion is way less fluid regardless of it stating being 60fps. It allows me to have 400% scaling on my native 1080p monitor but the negatives outweight the positives in my case unfurtunately. Glad I only paid 7eur for it. It might be of use for some other games so not a big loss.

@Obalcan these are all interesting side effects! Yes it's inexpensive, but still... I'm curious. Does it help smooth out a KZbin video at 30fps? It should... _should_. My more recent videos are all 30fps because my hardware can't sustain a native 60fps... 🤔
