Yes, it starts recording when the ignition key is set to ACC or ON and stops recording within 2-3 seconds after the ignition key is turned OFF or removed. Obviously, the included power cable should be plugged into the 12V cigarette lighter socket for this to work.

im usually the one being blinded by your kind of vehicle tho the people usually have the decency to turn there lights off that or ill back up so close to them that the lights dnt bother me :) will check your channels for vids

I'm glad to see your smiling the whole time, but leave it to me to notice you look a little pale the whole time... Do you use the GPS on this? If so, does it drain the battery on the camera even when turned off?

Unfortunately, I don't get to use the GPS much due to the internal battery drain issue. It's a circuit design problem in the DVR.
