Pretty sweet modification! 😍😍 I'm totally jealous! Are you experienced with modifying electronics, or was this something you googled and attempted? Can I ask how long it took you to do this? I have never tried to do anything like this, and am just wondering if this is something I could successfully complete if I tried. You wouldn't want to save me the headache and modify 3 more by chance, would you? Name your price! Lol

It's been a while back and I am reluctant to open it up again. Below are the pics I took at the time. Pardon the unorthodox use of LAN cables and parts but those were what I had lying around. If any, the fan and all features demo'd in the video still works to this day.... so it's reliable enough for its purpose. i.imgur.com/HALh7rA.jpg i.imgur.com/OrpHglv.jpg i.imgur.com/Cfq9Bbl.jpg i.imgur.com/q1zFHG3.jpg i.imgur.com/l8gs5Zo.jpg

@orlypalomar
@orlypalomar 5 жыл бұрын
Broadlink now has full support for changing the temp setting. In that video, I was still using a go-between solution, running RM Plugin on an Android TV box, to send commands from Alexa to the Broadlink RM. But with the recent developments at Broadlink, it now has native support for changing the temp setting. Just say; "Alexa, set <name of your A/C> temperature to 24 degrees". And so far, based on limited testing, it seems to remember the last temp it was set to when you power it off. I'll do more testing in the coming days. I am still using RM Plugin for other things but have started migrating them slowly to Broadlink's IHC app.

Any command to set the fan speed manually?
@orlypalomar
@orlypalomar 5 жыл бұрын
If you use IHC, yes, I believe you can ask Alexa to set the fan speed to a certain setting (ie. low, medium, high, or 1 - 5, etc. Depending on the A/C model) I prefer mine on Auto and if I need quick cooling, I just tell it to "turn on Living Room AC Turbo"

Tried it just now. Apparently, you can't change the fan speed via voice control. I've never found a need for it so it took me this long to find out. Setting the temp works, though.

Yes. I did some research and it seems some newer car ecm's have the ability to cut fuel to all injectors even when the car is running in order to conserve fuel. Seems odd to me how this works, but apparently it's real.
@oj88
@oj88 10 жыл бұрын
When coasting at speed and with the gear engaged and your foot off the gas pedal, the car's momentum will keep the engine turning. The engine computer can sense this and so it shuts off the injectors. As you slow down and the engine runs down to near idle RPM, the injectors fires up again to prevent the engine from stalling.
@KingofFreestyleMusic
@KingofFreestyleMusic 10 жыл бұрын
How is it possible to get better gas mileage while keeping it in gear while coasting? In my manual I drop it in neutral to coast. That's around 6-700 rpm idle in neutral. While coasting in any other gear it would be above idle rpm, so theoretically I would be burning more gas. Also, how does an automatic car that is running and in gear stop delivering fuel to all the injectors? I would think that when a car is on and running it is using fuel. Fuel is required to keep the car running.

We can do this all day and I imagine that you'll still miss the point. The message behind the video is about creating awareness that people should be responsible in the proper use of their vehicle lights. Sure, I can handle the glare. It's annoying, yes, but it would take much more than that to blind me. However, it doesn't mean that the SUV wasn't in the wrong.
