TIG Root on 12” Carbon Pipe for Advanced TIG Welding!
Welding can be a technically challenging job. It will take time to master how different welds work, control weld pools, learn how to hold your tools steady and create results that look smooth and are strong. Welding can be a physically taxing job, which is why being strong and able to endure some difficult workplace conditions is a great skill to have. You may also need to stay in one position for a long period of time while welding and may have to work even in adverse conditions like rain, snow, or other bad conditions depending on the weather, so both mental and physical endurance will be very beneficial during your career. Whether you’re a novice welder just getting into the industry, or you’ve been working in welding for years, it’s always good to make sure you’re working on your skills - and building skills are sure to make you a more appealing candidate for any welding job.

I love this guy's instruction. Answers most of the questions I have. Backfeeding is still tough for me. I have a harder time not falling out/thru like I do when I laywire. Is there a trick to "stay in the puddle" with back feed method when all it seems to want to do is fall out on me? Maybe just a boatload more practice? I just can't seem to make that work. Welcome to suggestions..

Definitely more practice, work on your travel speed , torch inclination, puddle control, and you’ll get there sooner than you think! 👍💪

I just found your channel, and now I'm hooked! I like your expression, "Burn to learn!" I was involved in fabrication work in the 80s but didn't weld; now I'm 60, and finally, I'm teaching myself TIG! I had a very frustrating session yesterday welding 1mm sheet on my old car; some were good passes, and others were horrible! But I have to remind myself I've only been TIG welding for a few hours! So, I'll now have your expression in my mind whenever I look at my welds and think, "Blimey, what's the point!" 🙂

What is the secreat or tricks of a heavy root boss
@BazusoHawk
@BazusoHawk 5 ай бұрын
The 'penetration' of your root pass is mostly determined by how far your filler wire is inside the pipe if you're doing the backfeed method. Focus on keeping your wire inside the pipe(behind the edge of your bevels). Also make sure to feed your rod and move your torch side to side at an even pace. If you move to slow or keep your torch in the center for too long you could suckback the root you just put in. Hope this makes sense...
