Nice gold enjoyed the video those dream mats do catch gold no doubt I use Goldhog mats thought about using dream mats but why fix something that ain’t broke lol told you before I think my daughter lives at Sims NC on Buckhorn Resivoir the gold I find on the river i prospect on here in Alabama is real fine gold haven’t found a picker yet but I’m trying again enjoyed the video 🕳️⛏️🇺🇸

o cool your at 1000! Thats one hell of a milestone. Love the dream mat, it catches almost every size gold. But all sluices lose gold to a point. You did very well at the creek and got that shiny! Awesome Justin. That was some very gold in this video. Love the smaller dream mat sluice you placed at the end of one of your cleanups. Hopefully you wasn't losing any gold? That was a neat thing to do to see if you was losing any gold. Keep it up, bud. 😆

I checked, there wasn’t any gold in that adventure sluice. Filming a video this weekend to test a theory “if I leave my sluice in the creek while filling up more buckets will it lose gold already in the sluice” should be a good test 👍

No, not necessarily. Depends on the water flow, too much flow with no material being fed through the sluice can wash gold out. The black sands protect the gold from flowing out of the sluice, and once those work themselves out of the sluice the only the left is gold and small flour gold can work its way out of the sluice next. I didn’t test this yet, because I want to bring 3 different sluice styles to the creek to test if this theory is correct, drop riffle sluice, dream mat, and the traditional carpet riffle sluice. The test will answer the question!

Never have understood why the bigger matt is not at the top of the sluice w micro matt flared out 2 inches wider

Justin, I have the 6x24 sluice box and I have the micro and the mini dream mats. Thinking about getting a larger sluice to run these mats in series similar to your setup. Can you say it’s any better than just running the single 6x16 mat?

Can’t really say to be honest, I just like to run the combo. It’s preference really. If I run a 24” sluice I’ll only use the mini cell mat, I wouldn’t use the micro because any gold that’s bigger than the cells will not get caught. But dream mat website does have a very similar sluice for sale right now.

Yeah man, it’s a slick setup for sure! And use the RPE in low water conditions, around here in the summer the water levels drop so much that it’s almost impossible to run any sluice other than a drop riffle.

I bet, 8-10 buckets of 1/4” material is a rough day, I can’t imagine processing down to 1/8” or less!
