So, I got the pay from x8r, really good so thank you. I am not a mechanic but read about fitting difficulties. I did this. I got the plastic below the steering wheel of, unclipped the clutch cable by squeezing it. This allowed the harder rear ball joint to be brought forward. I then got the rear joint fixed first by placing it on the joint and then using water pump pliers to squats it on easily as I was never going to do it with my fingers. Then put the front joint on in the same manner before putting the cable back on.. So this worked and for someone who is not a mechanic. The undoing the cable and the use of water pump pliers made it v easy.

Just done this on a twingo. What you need to do is remove the panel under the dash and the bottom of the sterring cowl. First get the old joint off and then disconnect the clutch cable so you can rotate the rear ball joint forward. Put the rear joint on and the reconnect the clutch cable, then pop on the front joint and you're done. Took maybe an hour as it is fiddly as hell. I used a pair of pipe plier to push the joints on. This video makes it look a million times more easy than it really is. 🤣

I just literally did this job on a Mk2 Renault Clio 1.5DCi. (Initially I bodge fixed the ball joint that fall apart with some grease and 2 layers of ziplock bag) Obviously you will still have one end of the dodgy clutch linkage ball joint to remove which was pretty hard to separate - I used a 14mm spanner wedged into the ball joint to ping it off but it was only just possible to do without bending the spanner. Fro me this was the ball joint closest to where the driver sits. I did not bother with dust covers as talking the manufacturer of the replacement product it is not critical and adding that would have just made it harder for the next part. As suggested by others I removed the clutch cable to get better access. Oh I wore a head torch but I guess you could wedge a torch somewhere to illuminate proceedings. My replacement link bar needed the cup to turned 180 degrees to match the old one - you have to loosen the locking nut to turn it. Grease both cups just around the inside edge to help getting it on. I started with the ball joint furthest away from where the driver sits and I could not get any pliers in to help so was just a matter of somehow getting both hands on the link bar and then pressing it on - this requires a decent amount of pressure to do. Put the clutch cable back in. The ball joint nearest you is next and for me was much easier as I could get flat head screwdriver in to lever the ball joint on. There is an extra retaining clip to super secure the ball joints that was relatively easy to get on the furthest ball joint and a lucky miracle I got it on the other. Talking to the manufacturer these are not critical. Twice a white plastic thing with a spring around it fell off from the clutch pedal that had to put back that is just fiddly and hard to explain how to do.

Great tips for fitting whilst on the vehicle! And can confirm this customer has spoken to myself and the dust covers and circlips provided are not 100% "essential" and the repair can be completed without them. They just provide an extra level of repair. - Georgina, X8R Ltd

How about showing this being fitted with the pedal box in the car please? I would say it looked a bit of a struggle trying to get those grease seals on & that was with the pedal box on the bench!

I have a 2005 model. This took me about 6 hours over two days it was a absolute nightmare of a job with a lot of swearing 🤬 some tips for doing this job. Get your self a extra long pair of mould grips. And remove the center pin holding the clutch peddle in place. It will give you better access. First do the rear section. Then pop the clutch peddle back on and do the one that's on the peddle. The pins are a bit fiddley. So take note of how they go on befor clicking the balls into place. You will not be able to click the balls into place with a screw driver, you simply can not get the angle to access it. I will make a video of how I done mine

I appreciate this is a 2 year old comment but, on the chance you can remember this job and are replying, how did you manage to get the end on the pedal ball joint? I have it on the other end but I can't seem to get the force/angle on it... Will taking the pedal off of the pin help or just make it harder to get it back in place? Many thanks

@@javonaziz5323 I just used a screw driver to get the old one of. The hard bit is getting the pin in the new ones. It's very very difficult access. And you will need to have a very flexible body. Unless yours happens to be a left hand drive where access would be a lot easier

@@Adventure.with.Robbie thanks for the reply. Yeah I have managed to get the old one off and the new one partially on. I just need to get the new one connected to the ball joint of the clutch pedal but I'm finding it super difficult to get it to click on. Is there a knack to it or is it just a case of force?

Hello, I saw the products of wiper linkage set in your youtube. Now, I got same problem of wiper linkage on my car. I have been trying to find any ways to repair but finally unsuccessful, it is except replacing entire one but really not worth to do that. I was thinking that no any reason convinced to me to do for my car that was bought as secondhand used car. I think that product can be fixed my problem of that. Now the question is How can I buy this products from you and can you ship to my place HKG.
