X96H Allwinner H603 Quad Core 4K TV Box Review

Not the fastest of course, but great for the price with 4 GB RAM, 64 GB "SSD", 3 x USB, SD card reader, HDMI In & Out, AV, optIcal Audio, LAN socket, DLNA etc. It feels respondent and fluent, and 4K (2160) video looks great with my device. 😊

@@tvboxstop Well, It didn't, but I enjoyed your video anyway 😂 It's just a matter of what you are expecting / can expect given its relatively low price, and the other similar devices in this price range in my region didn't have the same or better features at the time of purchase ( they were mostly just 1 or 2 GB RAM, 8, 16 or 32 GB "SSD", 1 or 2 USB, HD, no SD-card reader and no HDMI-in ( it even works with Chromecast btw. 😊 ) ), so I have actually been pleasantly surprised with it 😉 Of course it's built-in start up menu looks horrible - as on most of these cheap Android TV-Box devices - , but it's fairly easy to install your own launcher instead. Thanks for the BIOS update + instructions - nice to have. 👍

Given that I've always used TV Box with Amlogic, I would like to know in general, which is better between Alwinner and Rockchip? One thing I never understood. I always enjoy your reviews, I think you deserve much more, thank you! ✌

Thanks Des. Allwinner used to be the better CPU but they have dropped in standard and allowed Rockchip to outperform them. Rockchip RK3318 this year is the worse I don't know what's going on with them. They are not competing at all.

The problem with rockchip is they use a cheap glue that holds the chip and its aluminum heat sink. And after some time the glue gets worn out and becames vv hard and acts as a barrier rather than a contact between the chip and the heat sink . The heat sink cannot then dissipate the heat from the chip. As the chip gets hotter the chip automatically reduces it performance to avoiding damage and hence the box starts startering and buffering..if you can replace the glue with aftermarket quality one immediately you buy it than you got a good box

Just bought a brand new X96H Android 9.0 tv box, everything works fine except for the google play store...when I launch it it's trying to load but then it crashes every time. I've tried several different google accounts, clearing cache etc. What can cause this? However I can still get into the store if let's say I want to update an app or something but the main page of play store is the culprit and crashes there every time.. Any ideas please?

No probs. In the old days, these things were not an issue, but since KZbin got into their KZbin TV product they started biting on anything that they deem a threat. "They say" that it is dangerous because it violates recent UAE laws for which they can be charged millions, but I feel it's more of a threat to their service. So either way it's very dangerous for a KZbin creator to engage in IPTV videos, streaming APKs, Kodi add-ons, IPTV boxes, or anything that would demonstrate to a viewer how to access free content that should otherwise be paid for.

No this box does not have Dolby Atmos hardware so no matter what player you use you will not get Dolby/DTs audio output.

They look good and I bet they are worth the price but I am honestly looking for a machine for a DIY project and that's a bit above the amount I want to spend. If you anytime come across anything less costly I'm subscribed so I'd be interested in finding out. Also maybe if you put a Dual HDMI on your spreadsheet more consumers and eventually more manufacturers would consider the option. Anyway keep safe and thanks again

Too many issues with this box, you are looking at the price and see that it is a good deal, but what do you intend to with a TV box in those parties.
