When I was a teen I listened to this on the radio and I thought the base part was so so pretty to listen to. I couldn’t get the name of the song or the artist back then so I kept trying to sing the melody into the song finding apps but couldn’t find it anywhere. in college I found it again and I think it’s just as nice to hear when I was little. Thank you

this song has always spoken to me very deeply and whether its about government or spiritual beliefs, my interpretation has always been that of A river of experience, all of us wanting to drink the good from it while attempting to protect ourselves from the bad. in the end we are all like fireworks exploding in A black sky only to fade back into the nothingness that birthed us, stop worrying about life and start living it.

This song is about how people can lose their identities and become just like everyone else. Some lyric analysis: "Life is a waterfall,we're one in the river, one again after the fall." - We all start off the same and we all end up the same. "Swimming through the void, we hear the words,we lose ourselves, but we find it all." - As we go through life we are told lessons, but we ignore them. We forget who we really are in the mix of seeking the synthetic lifestyle, and that's the price to lose who we really are. "'Cause we are the ones that wanna play, always want to go, but you never want to stay." - We always want to be part of the scene. We strive for what we want and when we get it, it still does not satisfy. "And we are the ones that want to choose, always wanna play, but you never wanna lose." - We want and want. We do whatever we can but if trouble is ever near we do whatever we can to maintain innocence. "When you lose small mind you free your life." - When we stop to see the full picture is when we really have control of our lives. "Life is a waterfall, we drink from the river then we turn around and put up our walls." - We take and take and in the end we give nothing. This shows how greedy, oblivious and inconsiderate people can be

holly fuuck still having the chills from the first line, Life is a waterfall, We're one in the river, And one again after the fall. goddamn... Just never heard someone putting it like that. So good it hurts. So simple and brilliant, how we are nothing like human, we are just some kind of energy, that we call atoms. Than we become a conscious human being, but it really doesn't matter cuz we just go back to how we were, and we are nothing like when we "lived" anymore. It's so insignificant yet we think of ourselves as the center of everything just cuz we have a conscious...
@vietnamcuongthinh5206
@vietnamcuongthinh5206 9 жыл бұрын
Szabo Tamas yeah, i dont think it called atom i think it called "life force" "chi" "consciousness energy" or "soul" its just so true how they put that hidden meaning in the lyric. im still trying to see through, to get the eternal prize
@SzaboDTamas-ki4wu
@SzaboDTamas-ki4wu 9 жыл бұрын
Nguyễn Thịnh Well I was referring to how we are built from the same stuff that the world around us is built of. And if we dig deep enough, atoms are more than 99 percent empty space and to a fundamental level we still don't know what causes them to stay in motion and what it is. The particles that makes up an atom are protons electrons and neutrons. And we don't really know what those are fundamentally. Some kind of energy/mass/wave etc. That's what I was getting at. I don't mean to be disrespectful but I don't believe in bullshit.

Szabo Tamas actually everything is in some system of believe. if we think out of the box we can see religion are some system of believe and science are also some system of believe. they are equal if we change the perspective not from our stand point in one system looking to another, but outside all of them. thank you for not disrespectful. iam truly an atheist but what iam saying is religion and science may be not the same, but they are equal, have some crosssection. specifically in the previous comment. iam saying all those souls those religious people talking about is actually is just what science people call energy like what inside our brain? what inside those computer is designed electric pulses. they are energy so iam saying souls are just energy. get what iam saying? its not like things not exist, just that sometime we stand in some perspective that make us thing it is nonexistence and am pretty sure those guys in soad do mindtrips. if you experienced those stuff sure you will know what iam talking about and why iam making all these reference and connection in their lyrics

Songinterpretation: We all are afraid of something, and we never want to face that. In our lives, we always want to enjoy and gamble for the better, but never want to lose. we never want to accept loss. We can never deal with bad luck and bad emotions. We can never face, that our relationships one day will fail, that we will die one day, that we will just lose this game, one day. That we will always just run away from our problems. We will only ever feel free, when we dont put up our walls and accept others as they are, even if they had more luck than oneself. We have to face problems and be rewarded only if we get the reward by ourself. Nothing will ever be handed to you that easily. You can never expect the best to happen and be mad because it hasnt been gifted to you. You must accept that it happened and just go on, cause live is a waterfall, we drink from the river and put up our walls. we are the ones who want to play and choose, we always want to play, but never want to loose. When you loose small mind, you free your life When you free your eyes, ethernal prize. Baltori

Best comment here! The only acceptance we are looking for in our whole life is the acceptance of ourselves. We cannot accept us as we are, we cannot accept that the failure is a part of game of life. If we can accept us we are gonna pull off our fancy masks and drop these walls. Rember that the revolution begins from us as individuals. Have a nice day from Greece.

"when you lose small mind, you free your life". In buddhism the small mind is the mind that cling to their thought, to their emotions, who isn't mindful, who can't see that in reality everyone and everything is connected, the small mind sees everything as separate (I am here, you are there) , as if all things are separate, because our senses see this. SO the small mind falls victim of the illusion that our senses give us (that everything is separate) and also becomes victim of the ego and of the many thoughts, without being mindful and present in the moment.

“When you loose small mind you free your life” - I feel means that when you let go of your current life circumstances and situations and realize there’s more to life and you were put here for something bigger than yourself and we are invincible human beings with no limit except the one we put on ourselves, then you will have peace of mind and be free from this thing we call society and all of its “problems “ it’s just an illusion we have to overcome to see Life.

Tony Quintana this is a very good outlook, but I think when you “lose small mind”, it correlates to ego death. Ego death is the loss of your subjective self identity (the thing that controls you in your daily life, via the ego). Ego death is achieved from psychedelics and intense meditation. Once you lose your ego, you are a “free” bird. You are your TRUE self after ego death, freeing yourself from the ego that controlled you all your life.

For me when they talk about being in the river, they're talking about the flow of the higher consciousness that we're all apart of. The fall, life like they say, is that moment we're droplets, seemingly separate, just consciousness observing itself. Once we hit the water at the end of life we realize once again of being whole. The putting up the walls and the damns are us trying to control the flow of life. Getting rid of death, trying to find a way out. We open our minds to the whole, the knowledge of being One we free those constraints on ourselves be our true selves. We take life with grace. This seems to be a good conclusion to the whole album, as the rest are bits and pieces of the same message. If you got this far, I appreciate you hearing me out. Love and Light

Hmm, interesting. This song always reminds me of the time I saw a small raccoon eating a bag of sour cream and onion potato chips. He was just sitting there munching away. He was a sloppy eater. It took me forever to get the grease stains off of the unicycle seat. Thankfully I had full insurance so I was covered for unintentional critter snack damage. Absolutely the last time I bring that little bastard to a bar mitzvah.

For me this song is about the labels society wants to put to you. How even the justice wants to determine what's wrong or right. They even want to control the way we dress and think,define us by race , skin color, nationality and religion . We can't let people tell us the right thing, We have to discover it ourselves. We have to aim for individuality and real hapiness.
