Ego death is the loss of your subjective self identity (the thing that controls you in your daily life, via the ego). Ego death is achieved from psychedelics and intense meditation. For me when they talk about being in the river, they're talking about the flow of the higher consciousness that we're all apart of. The fall, life like they say, is that moment we're droplets, seemingly separate, just consciousness observing itself. Once we hit the water at the end of life we realize once again of being whole. The putting up the walls and the damns are us trying to control the flow of life. Getting rid of death, trying to find a way out. We open our minds to the whole, the knowledge of being One we free those constraints on ourselves be our true selves. We take life with grace.
