Found out about the ground "healing" itself from my very first base when I went back to visit it after a long time being away. Had to dig the terrain away inside the base and even remove a wall panel to be able to get out of it. These days I build bases on pylons constructed on virgin ground and build them high enough that no horizontal construction will intersect the ground or any plant life.

I was wondering why my lower floors were filling up with earth every few days lol. So I also found you can't run long lengths of wire with out losing power but by putting a solar panel and battery in line the wire will now transfer the "big" power from the power source {ie electro-magnetic source) simple fix and it works.

That massive chlorine refinery isn’t possible anymore. The per-base limit is now 3 medium and 2 large refiners, rather than that huge farm of refiners. There appears to be no limit on the number of refiners on a freighter, but freighters have space limits.
@charlessmith54652 жыл бұрын
the freighter machines have also been kinda buggy for me so far (new to the game w/ thist most recent expedition, Polestar). I built a lot of stellar extractors but most of them quit collecting anything. 🤷♂️ And I built a few refiners and now once in a while one of them gets a big stack of copper spawning in its input and chromatic metal spawns in its output-even after emptying it multiple times and using it for other refining. So far the freighter farm rooms work the most consistently. Haven't had a major problem yet, mainly sticking with the quad planter rooms. The freighter space is massive, but maybe it's small compared to some of these elaborate bases. I think it can be 14 stories tall, and the horizontal limit is pretty large: you can have several thousand rooms. But I don't know if it runs into resource limits or other bugs depending on how you use the rooms. I also read that the freighter has some type of power limit, and each of the rooms draws a bit from that, but there doesn't seem to be a good way of seeing the power grid status the way you can with a battery on a planetary base. Hmm.

A lot of these tricks are really handy. Especially the wire glitch, as difficult as it is to do consistently; very useful for getting lights in some places the game doesn't normally allow, though I do notice it doesn't always work. It is a bit annoying that we have to use glitches (or mods) for some things, though. Like flipping some pieces upside down; you'd think there'd just be a button for that, but no. Or being able to pick which teleporter you're using with short range teleporters.
@HummingbirdSound4 жыл бұрын
A few of these things changed since the video got out, like the fact that you can use your multitool inside now, so you can deal with terrain that grows back, and even that happens way less now (grass and such can grow through objects, but terrain not so much; it will detect structures and build itself back under them and in some cases around them, but not inside, except if bugged). Also, the inside/outside boundaries have been loosened, since now building a roof on a structure will usually consider the structure is "inside" even if you delete a wall (my garage is as such and I am completly inside when in it even though a whole huge wall is missing). And we have an object which allows us to make wires invisible when not in build mode.

I've used those markers every time when I found a hotspot (because I always lack of some building resources and head back to my base before I can proceed) but I've never seen this icon. So I guess it came with the latest patch? About that teleporter cable: This is just an idea but here it goes anyway (haven't tested it yet). Let's say you have 4 teleporters A, B, C and D. Connect A to B and C to D. This should tell the game which ones to connect to each other. So you can only teleport A B and C D.

@XainesWorld4 жыл бұрын
@@scottishhighlander1602 to an extent yes, though it depends what cap you are on about. All platforms have a save file cap of 20,000 items placed total everywhere for a save, this is an insane amount, my biggest farms are only in the hundreds. If by cap you mean base complexity, this system works in localised spots, so the more concentrated everything is for placement, the more it is affected by it and extending the base out would lower the concentration of parts placed by spreading it out allowing for more to be placed in general. hope that's understandable, and not rambly O.o

Indium mining - why? Buy up all the wire looms you can at a station - (min 5.5 million units worth to get going) Station-tele to the next station and do the same until you have as many as you can hold, then go back to that first station. Sell them all, and buy them back. Go to the next station, sell them all and buy them back. Each station your profit goes up (up to selling them causing a negative 81% value, then its the same each time) Assuming random station economies, you should reach 100 million units in about 8 or 9 hops, which is less than 5 minutes. An hour, you should be at the unit cap - half that if you're doing the warps to reach new stations.

I've made a different combination lock using 9 push buttons and 3 wall switches, if you input the code in the wrong order it basically wont activate the auto switches. I also set an inverter to reset the combination anytime the wrong button is pressed as you did. The nice thing about using push buttons is that they are wired to not stay lit as you go. Just for the hell of it I also made sure that if the door is powered my vaults are not. I was thinking of making a sort of alarm if the wrong button is pressed, maybe using that strobe system you showed

This is great and exactly what I needed right now because I'm currently in the middle of working on several base builds at the moment aha. One of them being my, more or less, main base on my current playthrough, which is far from finished but the new, main objective is getting power up n running through it. The others are basically still in the blueprint design stage but I've been working on one that was a bit of a spur of the moment idea. It's gonna be a subterranean base near an ancient burial site on an anomalous planet, and I've yet to find the locations for the others but I wanna build my own space station-esk type of base as well as an Activated Indium farm somewhere. Not to mention I have yet to start working on an underwater abode because I haven't really done anything with what came in the abyss update. Aha well it looks like I've got a lot on my plate 😅. Surprisingly I am still having an issue with inventory and there not being enough of it, but then again I think it's more of a hoarding problem than anything else🤔🤣. I wish the lockable/powered doors were still able to be put on regular walls. Dunno if my game is bugged or if they removed it but Im not able to do that in this update lol

11:18 You can save and reload and it'll be back to how you changed it. I had it happen to me, just reloaded and it's fine.

8:30 If you use your Base Camera View, hover about 50 u directly above where you want to build your stack of generators/extractors. Look DIRECTLY down. You will place each device precisely centered above the last one. 27:40 Isn’t “conduction by proximity” just the longer way of saying “induction”? 😂

51:55 I know it's an old video, but I was wondering how long it took you to empty all the oxygen generators and fill all the refiners with chlorine and oxygen each time? Or is there a way to empty/fill all at once?
@XainesWorld4 жыл бұрын
The extractors when linked are combined, so super easy, the refiners are manual though, so ages lol

Thanks for the hiding wire underground tip! I bored a tunnel like 400u to run one for my oxygen farm.

Hey I'm new and just starting to get into base buildings, and for underground bases will it save alterations made with the terrain manipulation tool itself? Was thinking of doing a half-natural tunnel base but if it'll fill in anyway I'd like to know ahead of time. Great video, although building a cool base is very daunting for me.

Any ideas how to place half ramp next wall to create stairs like in 3:47 but with wall on one side?

About #25 I suggest square room glass tower and placing em generator using adjacency glitch to the battery snap points, 4 towers squeezed into one square

Number 5 is cool to know as my current base is about 30u away from a portal so I might move it over a bit

A wire when expanding is dirt simple if you drag it with you in route to new extension, wood shack works great like you said also lol.

I'm always worried I'll spend a bunch of time finding it after to delete :), but a great option, especially as no mats required :)

yeah I am having trouble with extending base size as well.. it will work up to a point; i was able to drop walls all the way to energy spot but when i came back to continue building it would no longer let me build anything (except stuff you can build anywhere of course), even where I had already built walls. I did not upload base but I did log off and back on as well as jump to another system to buy more materials before coming back and trying to finish base. In any case, i don't think it is working like it used to. My first base that required power right after Beyond was released I used this method with no problem to power the base. When I came back later all the power lines were dead and I couldn't build anymore either.

omg fantastic video! This is my second watch and still trying to soak all of this in. Great video without being a spoiler for us noobs. More switches and electrical wiring how to's!

So trying to do the adjacency glitch and could do it fine in NEXT, but for some reason i can't get it to work in Beyond. What keys are you hitting and do you have to do a remap to make it work?

Hi Xaine! First off i really like your channel and all the effort you put in to help us all! Kuddo’s!!! I have 3 questions, 1. How do i adjency glitch in om my PS4 (what are the buttons to push and in which order? 2. How can i expand my base borders so i can build further? 3. I have seen an older video and i think it was yours but i am not sure, it is about putting a sell/buy terminal into a buildingcube and make it snap into the side half of that cube. If it is yours could you give me a link because i can’t find it atm? Thanks again and keep up the good work! 👊🏼💙✌🏼
