Yes my brother. I've seen that some hmong people are the most negative people in the world. Only wanting to destroy life and ruin lives of people out of jealousy. Family is the ones who will step on you when your down. Fake love you when your up. Hate you when your right and destroy you when you're not on their side. You've learned a hard lesson and I've been in your shoes before. The most important thing in your life now is your new wife, children and your belief. Choose your friends wisely and stop helping people. Go on living and love your new wife and children. Raise them up right and teach them to be smart. I look at life differently now that I’m older. Friends have their own place in my life. My kids/families and husband have their own place in my life and they’re my first priority and I hope that they feel the same way towards me. Friends, when you need help, they’re nowhere to be there for you but that doesn’t apply to all friends, there are good friends and bad friends. It’s best that she left you earlier, just imagine if she left you when you’re sick and in bed, then there’s no one to take care of you. Everything happened for a reason.

Sorry that happened to you. You sound like a really nice person. You have to understand that Hmong people come from poverty and when you have money, unfortunately some are very jealous like you owed them but at the same time everybody is after wealth and fortune. We all want to be educated, be tall and handsome tall and beautiful, have more than enough money, loved by everyone. I am just glad to be born and have a normal physical appearance, and in good health. Live your life, help others if you want to not because you want something back. Ignored the ney sayers. I totally agree with you. My husband worked 2 jobs and I never thought to cheat. Even if he was gone 6 days a week, he still spent one day with me and my kids. We still went on trips.

You are a good man. The situation sucks, but I'm glad that you were able to see from your ex's point of view, which made you a better husband to your new wife. That's the thing about life, though, right? You live, and you learn. It's amazing how people always want to be in your life when they need something from you (like the thousands of dollars you lent them)...until they don't need you anymore. However, when you need them...they are nowhere to be found. I hate leeches. Proud that you stood your ground and didn't fall for your relatives' words. You are a good man for staying by your wife's side and for doing your step-son's wedding. Not a lot of Hmong men would have the courage to love their step-sons/kids and even stand up to their relatives. Your wife is really lucky to have found you. Though there were some tough moments in this story, it makes me happy to know that there are Hmong men out there with a strong backbone. I wish you and your family the best, and God bless.

These are some of the reasons my husband and I don’t associate with relatives. We focus 99% on our marriage. We figured that relatives only need us when they need something. When they don’t need us, they don’t bother us. We know figured early in life they’re only using us. We don’t live up to others expectations but our own.

Brother always know that no one is for you unless it is your wife, children, and parents. Everyone always have a say but no one will be there to support you financially, physically or emotionally. Hmong people will only acknowledge you when they need you. It’s so sad that our Hmong people are like this. My dad use to be involved in a lot of Hmong organizations an d family gathering but when my mom had a stroke everyone disappeared, gone like the wind. The only people at the hospital was us children and grandparents. Love yourself and no one else. Us Hmong people really need to change and support each other. Unconditional love please.

I’m glad u realize that your family comes first. My husband was the same way. he had his major surgery, everyone was scared he was going to call for money. No one visited him, no called to see if he was ok. Alwase put your family 1st. Relatives and friends will not be the 1st one to be by ur side.

The hate is real. Growing up, families didn’t like us either because we had a lot of siblings, and mostly girls at that. But now that we’re all grown and see those same family members, their tune has changed. They now say my mom is blessed to have a lot of kids and girls at that; jealous that my mom receives a lot of love and attention from her daughters.

I think life humbled you because in the beginning you were like your relatives, cared too much about fortune and face. It took cancer and losing your first wife to make you realize that its your immediate family and the love you have for another that matters most. Glad you got another chance!

There's always some kind of jealousy when someone has what others envy. You can't really be friends with other couples. Through life and death, the ones that really matter is "your own" family. But, the wife is a maum dev because if she truly loved her husband and wanted his affections, she would've talked to him or pleaded with him.
