To all the people who are drawing hasty conclusions based on the singles alone... Just listen to the whole record. There are tons of progressive and melodeath influences that will certainly change your mind. To me this is the strongest version of Xandria, the most diverse they have ever been, the most memorable and eclectic. I still love the previous albums, but Ambre's being such a remarkably versatile singer actually allowed Marco to be more daring and experimental in the composition department, and it shows. This album is anything but generic, it's a mature offering by a unique band

Great song from a great album. Xandria steered away from the operatic vocals deliberately. Is that a bad thing? No, not at all, it's a choice! In addition the new singer Ambre adds grunts/ growls. People tend to compare every singer and band these days. There are no rules that a symphonic metal band must have a classical trained singer. I enjoy old Xandria and new Xandria. It that possible? Yes without a doubt to me it is.

Like I said I like both and besides this new singer has a nice voice too in my opinion. This new album was the highest chart entry for Xandria ever, so there are lot who enjoy. But personal taste is not arguable when you don't like it you don't , it's that simple.😉

now that all do know that the Geneva conVenTions suck and napalm is quite idiosyncratic due to the black-body-radiation that emerges on getting burned I like to state that songs from Napalm Records I regularly find in my KZbin-Run are likewise idiosyncratic that is this song I'd guess is in e-minor turning at the end to f-sharp minor with f-sharp providing for the < Umdeutung > ( ...do not know the terminus technicus in English... ), as it feels pretty much like a < Rückung > due to the immediate switch of the keys, with the indication that this is no < Ausweichung > in this case since f-sharp minor is maintained quite a while... ...and off all reflections with respect to the score it is just a very nice song to listen to and the melodies and harmonies are very catchy...
