7:00 The warlock was already done with the quest, the hunter showed up, no one asked for help, the warlock wanted to be a good guy and help the hunter anyway. There's a full video of the interaction, can't remember the guy's channels name though but it's in the comments of the original video. The hunter was clearly clueless, didn't even do damage other than some melee swings and I think he shot one arrow, so warlock basically died for nothing while the hunter feign death and lived on. Warlock's video was titled like "never help anyone in HC" so he learned his lesson, don't worry :)

I'm the lock at 6:22 the clip is complete on my channel. Context: I had killed falconcrest already (you can see in the questie tracker) and intended to kill Otto, the weaker. The hunter then came into the room after I had killed Falconcrest and I said I'd help him take Falconcrest on (he didn't ask, I offered). Turns out he couldnt handle the guy, used feign death and I got what I deserved for helping randoms, he surely survived, all he had to do was hearthstone out after the reset. Glad my clip got to start a discussion, the truth is, when official HC launches there is no way to police interaction and cooperation in the open world. TBH I didn't think I was infringing the rules at that time but I understand now that I did, not because it iss written in the rule, but because of public opinion on the topic. And I'm not saying that I don't agree with the current "no cooperation" rule boundary, but the "you're only cheating yourself" gets the discussion nowhere and is just a way to make you feel better about your own achievements of following X rules, by diminishing others' who didn't. You gave Jones a pass when he obviously got helped because he is a streamer, so where exactly is the boundary? If there is one, does it even matter?

Na you guys hashing it out is what's against the rules. Sucks about you dying for trying to help though.

And if you go to the end of his last video (with lastwarrior), he literally asks for help outside a dungeon because he went stupid and pulled a lot of mobs... So not even he follows the rule, but he'll call you out for it
@RaimaNd Жыл бұрын
Don't the rules say "don't ask for help"? Because then no rules were broken. You just OFFERED to help him.
@LeprosuGnome Жыл бұрын
@@RaimaNd exactly. I interpreted that way back then, but communication towards collaboration seems to be out of the rules now... Tbh I still don't get it lol

@@josephdotson2393 The rule specifically states world and player buffs, and assistance is permitted as long as you do not ask for it. They very clearly defined that asking for help is the problem, not receiving help. If you go up to someone and offer to help them there is nothing against the rules with that and by extension if you have offered help then there also shouldn't be any issue with communicating after the fact.

Its kind of a dangerous game to argue how to ask for help against the HC guide lines. Xaryu asked for help from non dungeon related mobs from his dungeon group in moonbrook. he asked for help. Its a fine line of who helps who on their journey.

6:12 How does she have both Target Dummies (requires Engi) and Nifty Stopwatch (requires Alch)? She has find minerals up, so she's clearly mining/engi. But Nifty requires a Frost Oil. Maybe the Nifty icon wasn't the stopwatch trinket and it was just some other macro icon?

While it's definitely against the rules to explicitly *ask for help* in the hardcore ruleset, I don't think it's technically against the rules to *receive help*. However, I do agree with Xar that it's not in the spirit of the hardcore challenge to collude with other players on how to take down certain mobs together. Technically though, if neither of them ask for help, under the current ruleset of HC, I don't think it breaks any rules. Maybe there should be an additional rule where you can't collude with other players to kill things together, but without that rule in place, I don't think that this is breaking any rules. That said, I'm highly in favor of adding a rule not to collude, because like Xar said, it's not in the spirit of HC to be getting help whether you ask for it or not. That's just my 2 cents on the topic.

To the people in chat who say it’s only cheating themselves, that’s not true. It takes away from the people who do it without cheating. It lessens the accomplishment of those who came before and all those who will come after. Cheating in any form needs to addressed to maintain the integrity of the challenge.

@Squall598 Жыл бұрын
Druids are superior tanks until level 40, that's when warriors shine brightly with the right gear. Also druids can perform better with average gear compared to warriors, who need good gear. Warriors with good gear at the right level dominate though.

It matters. It should matter to yourself most of all. No one is asking you to come do hardcore. You are doing this for yourself. If you are doing the hardcore challenge, you are agreeing to abide by the rules. The rules say no asking for help. If you manage to get to 60, sure, you survived and you 'technically' have a Hardcore 60. But you will always know that you don't actually have a HC 60. It's gonna bug you. When you cheat Hardcore, you only cheat yourself.
@kylesmith987 Жыл бұрын
Except he didn't do that. He offered help to another person. The rules specifically state you are allowed to get assistance and give assistance you just cannot ask for it. If you have already offered your help up to someone else then what is the issue with communication after the fact. People are way to nit picky for their own good. This is a game and its meant to be fun which means people can enjoy the challenge however they see fit.
@Joel_bjornfors Жыл бұрын
Why does hardcore need to be so toxic that if two of you have to kill the same hard mob at the same time, you are not allowed to talk or you get flamed by streamers like this? Not like it makes anything better for anyone else
