I was always worried at 1 2 or 4 years id falter but now I'm 5 years clean, down 100 pounds and 1 rank 1 title in wow. I had zero interest in playing WoW for my entire life until I came across a video by a guy named Xaryu about Hardcore. So yeah, that's exactly what I said to myself. I play HC mode on like every game I can and I have ever since Diablo 2 way back in the early 2000s. Brings a level of intensity and excitement that you can't really find playing normally. So to answer your question, yes that's what we think to ourselves. Had a brilliant experience exploring Azeroth for the first time with the risk of permadeath, and although I haven't hit 60, I still have an unofficial HC lvl 44 and an official level 30 that are both alive. But I will be starting fresh again tomorrow and hopefully I can put more time in

But my best friend raids and from watching him as well as others do raids, they seem like a very vital piece of gettibg thru those. @@MrMcSnuffyFluffy no they don't mean that, cos it wouldn't actually help. They literally just don't know how it works. You're not overtaking a warrior's threat in a fight that long with growl, especially if turned on when Sardaco was yelling like an idiot

Defense under-leveled Moving instead of auto shot/auto attack weaving. If this guy had BM talents his pet would’ve eaten everything and he lives! MM is the hardest Hunter spec to play correctly in classic imo.

I went HC during the first Rag kill (made it to 60, had fun, died being stoopid with some friends in BRD) and petri is dumb as hell. Grats to the first dude who figured out it works - but nothing works if nothing matters. Ugh, sorry. Had to get that off my chest.

Sardaco is the kiss of death. Again. If Sardaco took the time he spent whining about them jumping in ahead of him and just jumped in and added his dps to the fight, right away, the warrior would have lived. No question about it. Also, Sardaco was not "at half mana" - his mage had about 80% mana, plenty for that fight, even with the add.

Hello, personal accountability? The warrior made two severe misplays. As the tank he sets the pacing, and one of his group members was clearly not ready. His second misplay was jumping directly into combat with a hydra AND the boss at the same time. I've been to Mara plenty of times, you can easily jump down in a spot where you get no aggro from anything so you have time to gather the group and get ready for the boss. I agree, Sardaco could've saved the warrior but it wasn't "easy". It was an extremely sketchy pull and the healer almost got oneshot. Losing your own hardcore character because of someone else doing stupid sh*t is not on anyone's wish list.

Yep, that is more like a personality issue than a gaming mistake. Instead of just going with a suboptimal play and doing the best to play as a team and help the group, he just hesitates, whines and becomes one of the reasons why they didn't suceed.

Not gonna bad mouth decisions made, but don't just put it down to the War, Sard could have jumped in a bit before, he can teleport befor running to the spot they jumped from, and then took 20 secs to think about it, He is a good player and has like others been F by others, so its gets tough to enter a bad situation sometimes, even if you want to be nobel about it.

You probably haven't even got to lvl 60 or raided in HC. Petri is expensive and only usable 50+. You can be griefed hundreds of ways and it can never be your fault. Not being able to petri would make griefing way more common when you can wipe 40 people and they can't escape AND you can just feign death or vanish to get away yourself. People still die plenty with petri and there are tons of oneshots in raids. It's better than people not doing any dmg and instantly HSing without even trying. People complaining have never raided in HC or done dungeons with randoms. Without petri you can be screwed and griefed so easily. People complain about things and they never even raided in HC. Xaryu should lead a raid at lvl 60 with pugs and see how quickly he would get griefed with 0 petris. Not using petris is fine when you trust everyone around you, but that means you cannot do dungeons with randoms and you cannot trust anyone. Especially 50+, without petri it takes 1 person griefing and vanishing/feign deathing to kill you 100%.

The community and blizzard have both agreed that you should not be able to teleport to safety while under the effect of an invulnerability or immunity spell. Allow Petri and anything else. But the moment you are immune or Invulnerable, the countdown timer to kick you from the instance pauses. Also, if you disconnect (alt+f4) while under the effect of an invulnerability or immunity, your character will not leave the world while it is active. The countdown to your character logging out on the server side should not start until the invulnerability has ended. Literally all it would mean is that mages put up ports to major cities at each pull, and keep them active if they fade. Someone would have a weak aura ready in minutes after the announcement to ensure 100% portal uptime. Strats would change to ensure the entire raid is positioned as close to a portal as possible. But it's way better than just pushing a button and closing the game.

To be honest I'm fed up with your bitching about petris. 1. game is full bugs (we got a bug when a guy after disconnect got teleported to C'Thun room and we had to petri out coz the bosses abilities will kill you otherwise 2. Griefers 3. problems with servers 4. problems with internet. So game is not perfect. Even with petri ppl still die and it's hard to get enough ppl for every raid.

I agree. Members of raids still die, even with petri's being in the mix. Even "just" a single Naxx raider lost means the loss of a hundred+ hours (easily, if not far more). Multiple such losses are crippling to a raid team. Not to mention petri's cost a lot (25g+ per) and there are many circumstances where they don't end up saving you (either you use the petri too soon or its a rare mechanic which hits through petri or sometimes the player just plain forgets to hit petri in time or at all during momentary panic). Without petri there would likely be no raiding scene in HC at all, or very little, and I don't see how that benefits HC. Even if most hc players are never going to raid, the idea that you might, someday, raid is a sort of distant possible goal for many players, somethign to strive towards. Without petri that distant goal really doesn't exist in hc at all. Also, you can't even use petri until you're 50, so it's a non factor through level 49. I dunno, I see why some, like Xar, don't like it, but it serves a role and it's a legit item in the game, so I have no beef with it (though, for the record, I have never used one in hc, icyc).
