Get a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) And a good one, as a content creator no reason not to have it. Have your PC / Stream PC and Internet Modem/Router all connected to it. Then in the case of that happening again, your power goes out, the UPS kicks in and you can safely logout, most UPS can run for an hour on battery backup.

I think if you are in combat and get DC'd, your character should still be able to auto attack. I think you couldve killed that mob with just auto attacks. That way (maybe) you could log back in in time to save yourself instead of having the character just stand there and get smacked.

@Tmoney67000 cmon man... Obviously nobody knows when they'll have a random power outage. But imagine this, the internet goes out for 30 seconds while you're in the middle of a flight path. You log back in and you see your character fell to its death when you DC'd. You'd probably be pissed because it would make more sense for the flight path to finish its course. I think being in combat should work in a similar way. It won't save everyone, but a simple auto attack( no crits, no actual abilities, no heals, etc.) makes sense while dying to a mob with 15% hp while you were at 90% because your character stands still during a crash or power blink does not.

That's why D3 HC works but WoW will not. If you die in D3 HC you can level up to 70 within seconds and you have a accountwide bank and can equip BiS gear straight away again to blast further. That's not possible in WoW. I'll 100% not play WoW HC at all. I already don't have much spare time to play games and then I wouldn't want to waste my time with a character which I'd lose. That only works for streamer because they earn money from it and for people with a lot of time for WoW.

How about the following: If you disconnect/logoff while you have less than 10% hp left and the mob you are fighting is within 5 levels of you, and has at least 50% hp; you do NOT get a redo. Since this is clearly you about to die. But if you are fighting something like Xaryu was in this video, with near full hp, and mana; with the mob dying quickly - you get a redo. (Could also do a flat out %hp comparison. If you have 51% and the mob has 50% you don't die. - but you drop down to 1% when you relog.) Can also add additional conditionals such as: When you are fighting 2 characters or more, the moment you drop below 80% hp without either of the mobs about to die (

There is no way to make a distinction between a real disconnect and a "fake" one. If I pull my ethernet or unplug my router, I will disconnect. How could Blizzard tell whetever it's legitimate? Streamers aside, for "normal" players, it's just impossible.

The only current options that i am aware of, is equipping items in your ring slot, which would mean you lose one item with stats while playing. This is why “renewable” solar/wind energy can’t work - it’s unreliable. The grid was designed to work 24/7/365, not just for days the weather works out. And of course the solution is a diesel generator haha. @@Khagrim When I played PoE hc 3-4 years ago everybody used a TCP disconnect macro. The game was supposed to disconnect you too but it was very unreliable. The macro was not super reliable either, most of the time it would be smarter to move your character away rather than macro out if it was an option. PoE is a hundred times more fast-paced than WoW though, 100-200 ms disconnect on stand-by would be very easily abuseable in WoW.

Its a community based game-mode and it makes sense because it's a personnal challenge against the game you're playing, not your internet provider or electricity. I think they should add a weekly reset to rez one toon so that way the deaths are meaningful but it doesn't make you lose progress entirely. Or maybe even longer like 2 weeks?
