The way I would fix multi energy generation is to batch their generation, where each batch is of size equal to the number of distinct energies in the deck and every energy must be present once per batch, just with its order randomized. Generate a new batch when one is exhausted. Examples of energy order ( "|" separates the different batches): 1. Fire (F) and water (W) deck, so batch size is 2: F W | W F | W F | W F | F W | ... 2. Fire (F), water (W) and lightning (L) deck, batch size is 3: F W L | L F W | F W L | W F L | ... This would still make for situations where you can have the same energy twice in a row, but also guarantees you'll get your desired energy in a batch, allowing for some plays based on that knowledge. You'll never get the same energy 3 or more times in a row though.

This would make multi-color energies have a minimal downside. The RNG element across all of each turn of energy generation is good enough penalty for multi-color deckbuilding theory.

With the multicolor energy problem they can fix it three ways: Introduce more cards that can help multi color decks. Or have us control the percentage of how often we see one energy over another. Introduce a special energy mechanic similar to the irl tcg. Multi color is also a problem with the normal TCG but it's aided by trainer cards and special energy cards that help get multi color decks rolling much easier.

They should have three energy percentage slots. Every three turns, one of each will be given to you. This helps three-energy decks a ton but forces two-energy decks to pick a favorite.

I like the energy percentage idea, but I also think it needs to be a changing percentage throughout the game. So say you're running a fire water deck, and you choose to percentage to be 50/50, you can equally get either energy first .. But each time you get a certain energy, that chance of getting it again reduces by 10%.

Honestly I think just adding Energy Search (card text: choose an energy color. Next turn, your Energy Zone will generate an Energy of that color) would be a huge benefit. You can run a standard Water deck and just have Energy Search to get Fire for Druddigon, you can run a legitimate two type deck and use Energy Search for consistency, it would open a ton of deck options.

Hate to say it but id just run a moltres ex and keep the water and fire energy. Maybe drop fetch and a drudge. Attacks with 3 energies or more need help with ramp just cause theres 1 and 2 energy damagers out there just lookin to start steamrolling you by their second turn.

I'm not sure how much they can do to fix the energy zone, although a change I'd like to see is the option to cycle between the main/baby energy, that way at least there wouldn't be quite as many situations of being one turn off from getting the right one. Maybe extreme, but maybe even make so the main/baby energy are also never the same, and with cycling that would mean duo decks could just always have the right energy and only trio deck would ever risk getting screwed. For Dragons in particular though, some kind of trainer that mimics the function of a rainbow energy might be nice.

To help with multi energy decks, once/if you've pulled maybe 3-4 of the same energy in a row it will have to switch to an alternative energy, with this mechanic you can also then stratigies if you know what energy your going to get next.

The thing is, true RNG DOES work this way, and true RNG is bad game design. There should be a limit to how many times in a row it can roll the same energy before it HAS to roll a different one. Because technincally speaking, with true RNG you could get 15 water energy in a row, and that's not ok. xD Maybe next expansion we might get a trainer that gives any eeveelution an energy of it's own type, but that is wishful thinking. xD

I run an all 3 Eeveelution deck. Managed to bluff a Flareon by getting an Eevee set up with 2 fire energy against a Celebi player until I finally drew it, second card from the bottom

This might be kinda stupid, but honestly to give multi energy decks a real chance in the meta, I think you should just be able to choose on your turn what energy you want your next turn. Either this or having an alternating energy system where you always get one of every energy you select before getting duplicates of any energy. I think choosing which energy you can get next would give your multi energy decks the ultimate freedom to thrive. But who knows maybe that wouldn't be balanced.

The "50/50" energy chance feels fine as is, but it would be nice if every 3rd or 4th energy was the player's choice between 2 of the energy types in the deck randomly selected. A majority of the energy would still be random, especially if it was every 4th energy, but one of the energies would at least be more consistent as to allow more viability in multi-energy decks without making it consistent enough to run type heavy cards(i.e. Gyarados ex, Gengar ex, Blastoise ex, etc.).

I'm currently having fun with Jolteon/vaporeon. I added in Dragonite just for funsies, but honestly step out Eevee, and apex Jolteon/vaporeon barely needed it. Dragonite would end up on the bench like a ticking time bomb

2 things, they definitely need to fix dual energy decks, obviously. they should also add what energies were used with a deck for those that wanna copy a fix could be you pick the energy you wanna prioritise in the deck example, this deck has water and fire, due to misty you’d prioritise fire but that still allows you to get a water energy

Any reason why we can't just have a predictable cycle of the two or three energy we choose and assign an order to how we want them? I feel like 95% of the dragonite decks I go up against get their energy allocation by their 4th energy anyway and it doesn't seem broken, but eevee decks dependent on their energy draws especially Flareon seems unviable.

@Xatumi The goal is to establish Druddigon with attack if you do not see an Eevee line. I play Taurus and apply 2 energy as quick as possible. I've held games with Druddigon and Taurus only. Very fun deck! I'm glad it's getting recognition

Multi color is just so bad currently, I personally have never lost to any of these. You're just putting yourself at an intentional disadvantage. When Drudd could oneshot me if it had one more water but "Oh thank God, his next energy is fire" I can't help but laugh. Hopefully they introduce some trainer cards or gives you a way of choosing what color energy you generate, because adding another element of RNG to an already heavily RNG based game is setting yourself up to fail.

@cypi6210 I use 1 set of tentcruel set an 1 set of salandit, both for poison. 2 eevees. 1 flarion 1 vaporion 1 kangaskhan 1 lapress ex 2 professors 2 leafs 2 pokeballs 2 mistys And 2 potions. The potions can be swapped for other stuff if ya want, like a x speed for example. The vaporion an laprrss ex both providing self heals and high hp an damage coupled with misty make for great tanks mid to late game. Kangaskhan is great for keeping the other player in check while you work out your hand an energy costs. And the flarion is great for one doing good damage as a finisher as well. Combine all that with the poison, forcing the other player to continually retreat or take added damage, makes for great control of the game. Imo. Currently, there's no real counter to poison in the game. Having it from both sides, makes it really good. Its basically a delayed Sabrina with a added damage factor, that continues if the opponent doesn't react properly. Which is cool. Hope that helps
