Good place holders for if you don't have the articuno and/or eevee/jolteon. You can use a helioptile/heliolisk since heliolisk's attacks requires 2 colorless energy. And snom frostmoth instead if the articuno's. You only need 1 water and 1 colourless energy for them. And put your opponent to sleep and stall for turns until your dragonite is ready to attack

This deck is legit, its by far one of the best decks I've ever used. The ability to go early, mid and super late as well as having no downside of ex double points, 1 energy retreat cost for both jolteon and articuno and the ability to swing damage high is incredible. Not to mention being able to funnel energy backline for articuno with Misty to keep the upkeep of pressure is insane.

i went with dragonite + Starmie ex. That way I can use misty to power up starmie while I use my turn energy for dragonite. Plus when dragonite is powered up on the bench, starmie has free retreat.

I've been doing Dragonite/Lapras to similar effect. Lapras is just as tanky as Articuno but only needs a single water energy to attack, while still being able to get some crazy sweeps if you get lucky with Misty or just manage to stall long enough.

Its retreat cost is bad tho, so once its in there, its usually staying until its dead giving them a point rather than switching out at low health to maintain ur enemy points at none. So you have to then devote too much energy to get it out, while starving other mons. It’s better to just use something else in all honesty.

I haven’t tried this particular deck yet, but I’ve been playing several Dragonite variants for about a week now and I’ve come to the conclusion that putting energies on anything other than your Dragonite line is a bad idea. You want to be putting energies on your Dragonite line every turn or you’re going to lose the game before you even get Dragonite out. Dragonite doesn’t need another attacker. It needs a Pokémon that can act as a damage sponge and take hits for it while Dragonite gets ready on the bench.

Fellow Dragonite player here, totally gonna give this variant a shot! Dragonite / Starmie EX is pretty solid since you can sit on him during the early - mid game before you bring out Dragonite to close it out. I would also argue Dragonite / Normal is a solid path forward. Farfetch’d is fantastic going second and Kangaskan is great going first and gives another hefty body without evolving. Both can be searched by Poké Ball & are colorless so it makes the energy curve easier to deal with in this deck.

Sabrina might not help who you'll put damage on with Dnite but she still help stall and you still have other pokemons that would need her to damage the right pokemon, you need at least 1 sabrina in the deck.. a deck with 0 red card looses out on a very important part of the game, you need to be able to do red card your opopnent in the late game

You don’t a lot of deck are running 2 speed+ and low retreat cost pokemon so 2/3 times you will play sabrina they will switch, play speed+ then put their pokemon back. And in the later turns they will have high cost retreat pokemon if it’s a slow deck but by the time you will most likely have your dragonite build. One copy of sabrina is good but you don’t "need" it

I think the most common If seen is snom frostmoth. mostly for easy energy manage since those only require 1 water. I personally like us starmie ex if you have them. Using one water and relying on misty for at least one has been fairly consistent for me. Plus, the no retreat cost is nice when dragonite is ready. But those are the more common builds of course. This one looks fun!

Bro, I play it with two Dragonite and two Frosmoth and it works surprisingly well. If you get stuck in electric energies, you can play Misty on Frosmoth. And being able to sleep your opponent's Pokémon forever is priceless.

Sabrina is for stalling. One of the most important cards in the deck. In fact, I win like 60% of my match because of sabrina.

I use 2x tentacruel line. That way I only have 4 starters (2x dratini and 2x tentacool). Tentacruel needs 1x water energy and 1x any. For a 50 damage + poison with a 110 HP. Good enough tank for dragonite to set up while it itself would wear Off the other big pokemons the opponents may have

I don't have Misty (the most broken exodia card), so I'm gonna skip articuno 😢 will pick whatever option I felt usable. I learned that when you use setup deck like dragonite deck that take a while (four or five turns), opponent tend to pile up hand cards that he/she can't use. I slot in red card and preserve it until my jolteon or dragonite has enough energy, then red card before attacking. Opponent is very likely to have potion or whatever cards at that point that can't be used until being attacked. Red card give me a chance to prevent opponent from using those after my jolteon or dragonite attack.

Okay I think I know why articuno tech is good in dragonite deck. First thing, dragonite is not ex card. And your opponent need to score 3 points to win. Hence even if opponent take down your dragonite, he still need to take down your other two pokemon as well, just the matter of order. Articuno is also an amazing backup sweep card that can take the game if your dragonite can't finish off. When you have dragonite & two articuno / articuno + dratini out in the field, it prevent opponent from Sabrina your dragonite into active spot. The goal is to let opponent eventually defeat your other two pokemon, then you solo with your dragonite on field. This method makes opponent's Sabrina pointless the whole time. (Sabrina too op, but its obviously useless against solo field) When my dragonite is ready to attack, red card. Opponent shuffle whole hand back into deck, draw 3 cards, potentially drawing Sabrina / X speed which is useless against dragonite. (dragonite doesn't care) The biggest part is to give you a chance to not let opponent have Potion / Erika / Koga / high hp pokemon or whatever card that increase their likelihood of stalling to defeat your dragonite.

Missty is ONLY there for Articuno. Id drop those 4 and try the recent Dragonite/Aerodactyl keep build with Jolteon thrown in the mix tho, as i think its a SOLID 3rd option to sabrina into. I dont think on average Articuno would offer more than Aerodactyl. Its more energy, all on a gamble, and would you rather gamble a paralyze or just tossing their whole Pokemon back and they have either nothing on the field and lose or you now can handle their hopefully weaker backline 1 on 1.

x1 of each Pokemon doubles of trainer item cards, riachu ,dragonair ,electrode,x1pinchurchin, x1 pikachu ex, x1 farfetched, no rng flips but need to use pikachuEX early game or pinchurchin for early dmg, perfer pinchurchin esp when going first ,fill bench with electric, retreat for pikachu ex, hopefully it can get one K/o mid game with the poison from early game, then can x speed with 3 energy to raichu/lt surge, if major threats on opponents bench can sacrifice raichu for a build up of dragonair, hopefully, no duplicate Pokemon cuz it always effs me in the mid game when I don’t have ish for basic Pokemon, if you fill the bench with. Electric and don’t sacrifice a voltorb or something you won’t be able to build out dragonair in time to get energy for it(yes I know I could build dragonair early but then pikachu ex is nerfed to only 60dmg which won’t hold up mid game imho(costing 2 points as well when they get an unexpected evolution and toast pikachu basically bricking you esp if they have like hitmonlee or sum that can get at your bench(ps this is not meta but very fun against non meta decks)(pss fuck starmie and moltrez ex you may as well concede)gotta love “beginner” random matches(have gotten a few early conscessions tho) if you read this far I def suggest trying this build or similar(I would use some of the other electric 2step evo, but for me it’s just a bit too broken to be fun maybe just heliosk line as they do no damage to your own Pokemon

Vaporeon tech is very nice! Huge 130 hp pool, and self heal when attacking. Also compatible with Misty. Can stall some low attack power deck such as Weez gimmick deck / Venusaur ex deck 👍

2 of my decks are pidgeot dragonite and jolteon/dragonite. Might have to try the articuno when I get a misty. UPDATE: got Misty yesterday and added articuno and on 2 matches got 5 heads with Misty .. the rest were 1 or 2 which was fine and expected but the 5 back to back got me shook lol .. solid deck ngl

Why not kanghaskan over articuno so you can replace misty with potions? It is harder to retreat with, but it does a better job for early game wall and pressure.

When this app came out, I got all the cards on the 2nd day for dragonite. I was really dominating on the ladder playing with Zebstrika 🦓🐲⚡💧 I feel its B tier on the list :) and on top of that spreading damage counter is amazing. But it can brick when you have certain energies which sucks.

That's literally just incorrect. Maybe you got confused by seeing Pikachu EX and Pikachu non-EX being run in the same deck. All cards are limited to 2 copies maximum. No exceptions.

Honestly I would rather go with -2 Eevee, -2 Jolteon and +2 Potions, +2 Sabrina (or +2 Potions, +1 Sabrina, +1 Kangaskhan). If the deck is meant to be played as a Control/stall, I can't see a place for a more aggro pokemon which needs couple of energies and uncertain damage. Potions may help stalling and Sabrina could disrupt opponents, making them need to take action to still perform damage and buying us time to pump up Dragonite. That said, I love this Jolteon and would really like to see him played somewhere in the meta.

I've really tried making Dragonite work for me, but the game constantly gives me 4 to 5 of a single energy type in a row and I just can't anymore. I wish there was a way to set ratios of your multi energy decks so you could at least consistently make one part work

This deck will power up Dragonite even more
