If you play football then you will understand how much mental pressure is there . People become anxious of commiting mistakes when they get the ball because they dont know which player is where. Same here, in this case xavi knows where the players are and what is the best step to take. One small mistake and there will be a counter attack. Xavi and other players scan everything thatswhy when they recieve or turn they dont lose possesion and it looks good on tv. Watch an amature on tv and youll see all the wrong turns and bad recieves as the players cant see the ground from a very favourable view . If you recieve they ball blindly then you will be trapped by oppositiions and if you turn blindly then there will be opposition player with a tackle. Even if you are not tackled you would not know what to do next and eventually mess up.
