Xavier Quijas Yxayotl and Guillermo Martinez Knott's Berry Farm 1990's performance at Indian Trails. Many don't know Guillermo and Xavier got their start at the Southern California theme park Knott's Berry Farm. With the park allowing them to create the show however they wanted, they quickly began building the instruments of their ancestors they had only seen and read about in books but had long since been forgotten. They began working in clay and bamboo to create mesoamerican flutes and ocarinas and (back then) used logs and deer for our drums. This was the catalyst for both of them to go on to become master craftsmen Xavier in clay and Guillermo translating these designs from clay into the wooden flutes you see him crafting today.
