Does it use a standard Kalita 155 filter paper? Also would have liked a shake function, to level the bed, before brewing. Great video, now I'll wait for your fellow brewer review before buying either. Also can it be plumbed in? I'd put a couple of these in my cafe

It can use a standard Kalita 155 Filter 👍 or XBloom filters are purchased in a box of 100. I’ll have to see whether you can program a Shake in before the bloom 🙏 the XBloom cannot be plumbed, the XBloom Studio can! Unfortunately Australia is yet to get the XBloom Studio m, only JUST received the XBloom 😅

Unfortunately XPODS are in the process of implementation to roasters in AUS. Yet to have a good range, but it’s coming. It would be great when it does. The ones I had, were shipped from the USA 😕

I bought my chemex for $40 in 2016 and still my favorite coffee maker. Hundreds for pour over is madness 😂

It’s automatic and I think it has its place. It’s not a Nespresso pod machine, the coffee from this is delicious 😅 and for the use case of convenience in a transient space of people wanting coffee it’s pretty neat. Love the Chemex btw!😍 some of my top brews ever from one

One thing that could make or break the success of a machine like this is if roasters in Australia would supply xBloom pods with their own RFID chips. America is big enough to have a market for roasters to justify supplying these pods, Australia the market is much much smaller, not only because of population but our coffee market has a strong espresso based drink bias compared to say North America and Europe. Filter coffee is amazing when done right, but that message never cut through here.

Very good point Dane. We will endeavour to communicate when these Aussie roasters jump on board and begin shipping. Would be a big bonus for the Xbloom agree. Although, even manually brewing, I found it super easy and delicious, though the expense of this, is likely not an attractive or large market of people.

Interesting you say this. Certainly I’m left with more questions than answers, though the coffee and convenience was the one thing I experienced, that met my expectations on this machine.
