This is a Xenon Xbox 360 which came to me like this. I attempted to read the NAND and get the CPU key dump in order to fix the thing, unfortunately the Xbox is missing the CPU key entirely, leaving me up a creek.
Microsoft used to send back to users consoles in this manufacturer mode that were banned and falsely sent in for repair. I assume that is the case for this one.
When I plug it into ethernet, I get error E52 on the screen.

Woah, what the heck?! That's even crazier than the three red rings with working video output 360 that you posted a year or two ago. I know it's been long time no talk, I have tried to reach out to you some time ago, but this damn youtube spam filter...

Oh you're still here! I never got the notification. Apologies for that. I never knew you were commenting. KZbin has been quite terrible these days. It's not just this website. Nothing too much going on. Job is going great. Have a lot more of these PS3/Xbox 360s given they're old and super easy to pick up at below market rate (market rate being Trademe)

@@realgroovy24 Dude, big surprise! I just dug out my Xbox 360 Slim ("Xbox 360 S") out of storage after last using it 2.5 years ago, fired it up today, and I am met with the red dot power button light of death! (red dot of death for short I think). The disc drive doesn't even open either. It's stuck closed. No video signal on display of course.

@@bestage9429 Damn! I suspect it's the XCGPU failing causing red dot. I would try reflow that main chip. Normally not recommended for the original fat models. Was it working fine previously? Disc drive issues after sitting are always the belt getting bent in a specific shape of the two pulleys after sitting for a long time. Sometimes the belt stretching, but not often on the 360. For that belt, you'd need to open the console and then spin the belt around the two pulleys in a different position to get rid of the bends if you know what I mean.

@@realgroovy24 Unfortunately I don't have any suitable equipment laying around to do a reflow right now (e.g. heat gun or hot air station). Yes, it was working perfectly the last time I dug it out and used it in April 2020. Later on I found out there's something you can do with Xbox 360s that have a hardware failure error, which is to retrieve a more descriptive, specific 'secondary error code'. Achieved by holding down the controller sync button, and then pressing the eject button four times, noting which lights on the power button 'ring' blink each time. The code I consistently get from doing that is '0032'. According to some sources online it seems to be something to do with a CPU power rail. As for the disc drive, you know what? When I fired the Xbox up first time in a long time, I had it placed vertically. It wouldn't open when placed vertically like that. Later on when I started messing around with the console a bit, I placed it horizontally and suddenly the disc drive would start opening and closing normally again. The tray now opens as it should in both horizontal and vertical orientations. I'm aware some types of rubber can kind of 'solidify' over time. Other types of rubber can 'melt' and turn into a really messy liquid kind of goo from what I've heard from other youtuber 'VideoTape'. For the record, my Xbox 360 S is a 'Trinity' revision with the 10.83A 12V power input/supply, and was manufactured in August 2010. I don't remember exactly when we got it, but somewhere around November/December 2010. edit add: It was moderately to heavily used for at least 6 years of its life, then saw quite little to almost no use the remaining 6 years. Btw thank goodness for PC apps like Horizon, as well as Xenia emulator. The reason why I dug the console out this time is to copy some Xbox 360 exclusive games on the console, to PC to try them out / play them via emulator, now that I have a PC pretty damn powerful and modern enough to run Xenia emulator. I took the HDD out of the console and plugged it into my PC via a USB adapter, opened up Horizon, and was able to retrieve the files intact from there. I've only tried Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition on my PC via the emulator so far, but it works pretty damn well. What further made my day is an Internet Archive dump I found of all the title updates to MC:X360E, from the 'first' update TU2 all the way up to the latest and final TU75. Now I just need to sort out my emulator folders as well as continue saving/dumping the rest of the files on the HDD onto my PC. If it wasn't for these PC apps and emulators existing then I probably would've bought another second-hand 360 for cheap right now. I'm going to just kiss my 360 Slim Trinity from 2010 a sad goodbye and list it on Trademe for $1 reserve. When I get back into Xbox 360 in the future, I intend to mod it / buy a modded one that time.

this is likely an old JTAG, someone flashed the wrong kv type which will result in this

I had opened it up. It wasn't JTAGed. Well, unless they opened it a second time and reversed the JTAG in the hope that would fix it. I'll try flash another Xenon KV on it, a few of them.

Following the previous reply, I remember it did have the Microsoft repair sticker untouched before I opened it. It's likely the console was banned somehow and returned to MS, only to be bricked completely. NAND reader did not recover any CPU key, leaving me up a creek.

@@realgroovy24 A nand reader wont recover a CPU key, you need to exploit the console via jtag or rgh and run xell to grab the cpu key
