Xbox Fam,, the fix is EASY, WAAAAY easier than any other complicated fix. RESET YOUR XBOX BY HOLDING THE POWER OFF/ON BUTTON FOR 15 SECONDS... If this does not work than do it again and unplug the Xbox360 cords from console for20-30 seconds. This Sync issue happens to me to this very day in 2024. Wife is playing Drago Age Origins & Singularity.

However, good job on the video. I do agree that the cause of these issues is usually electrical interference, or a short of some sort, either somewhere in the grounding, or in the actual RF/ring of light circuit board itself. I have had many controllers/units that simply would NOT connect wirelessly, thankfully as soon as the "play and charge" cable is connected, the controller will re-sync with the unit and, once done, should not need to be re-sync'd unless you connect it to another console.

MAKE SURE YOUR CONSOLE IS CONNECTED TO YOUR TV. Your system's controller will not sync if your console isn't plugged into the TV.

Same problem with mine, check the terminals for the battery they get corroded and once u scrape the corrosion off it'll work.. at least mine did

My controllers wouldn't sync either. On the 360 s I got them synced by holding down the sync buttons on both the controller and the sync button on the console at the same time. There is a button on the front of the console.

I can't believe I didn't check the console last year after I applied fresh thermal paste. When I reassembling the 360 Slim Console, I forgot to tighten 4 of the 5 Black Screws that hold the bottom plastic panel to the top metal bracket panel. So here's what the problem was. When you would try to sync the controller to the console, the sync button on the face would bottom out before it could hit the small on/off sync button on the logic board. I tightened the screws & the front sync button was lined up perfect with the logic board. Man I felt dumb there man... But glad I figured it out....

Adding another thanks- it was definitely earthing (whatever that means)- I turned my unit sideways and voila, fixed. Gotta love a quality $400 machine that is easily knocked out of sync by the subtle vibrations of the earth

You don't need a key not at all, you just need some sort of point or needle to push the tabs individually and they just pop and it's really easy

I have done everything this video suggested and yet my controller will not connect to my xbox. I have even went as far as what some videos suggested, putting another game into the console. It worked the first time but months later (now) my xbox refuses to connect even when i try that. I have no clue what the problem is at all.

i just installed modded rol and when i put my xbox back together i observed that my controller is not working neither the rol except when i press the sync button. i thought i broke my chip and lost all hopes of fixing it but when you told that there might be earthing between the circuit, i opened my xbox and saw that i have soldiered two joints together so i took my soldering iron and separated those two joints that was causing this issue. thanks

Still having this issue but oddly enough? I put one of my games and it didn't read as a game but as a DVD so I went into the dvd player. And after I exited out of it, my controller connected.

You can disassemble the 360 without a master key. I've done it many times with just a small screwdriver while gradually applying pressure to the case corner to pry it open. Never damaged any of the locking points.

Not trying to be rude, but the "sensor" you wiped clean on the left side of the xbox has absolutely nothing to do with the controllers. That is the Infrared receiver for the media remote. The receiver for the wireless controllers is the circuit board with the "ring of light" on it on the front right of the xbox. That is the one and only part inside the xbox that is responsible for communication between the controllers and the CPU itself.

the window and ir receiver is for the dvd remote. the board with the 4 led lights is the controller receiver. it probably has broken solder joints and might need replacing. wouldn't recommend pressing on capacitors. you could brake the seal or short them out.

I figured the controller board was the issue but thanks to the eraser trick my 360 has worked fine for one year now. If it break again I'll just resolder all the points and check the tracks for breaks. I included the 'blowing down the hole' trick because it actually works; no idea why but it worked for me a few times.

lifeschool My xbox wont connect to the tv at all through an hdmi chord or the avi chord and the controller will not connect to the xbox at all. I have tried all possible solutions and still haven't gotten anywhere with it. removing memory drive, wiggling disc tray, unplugging and plugging in all wires (including controlers) and all the above ideal solutions I have looked up. The last thing I have yet to do is call up MS. Any ideas before I do?

ha-ha, yes, my controller is very dirty. Thats how it came when I bought the machine second hand, and as I knew it would get into that state again I didn't bother cleaning it. I sweat a lot when using controllers, especially old type joysticks.

I think the problem is my controller, I recently bought a wireless gaming receiver and it wouldn't connect with my controller, I just tried to play on my xbox and now I can't seem to connect with my XboX either. Heres another reason to add: Mine failed to connect because the HDMI was not properly connected to the TV. The controller was communicating with the console but after trying to connect, all 4 circular lights would just flash slowly, changing batteries, etc did nothing. When the HDMI was reconnected, all worked OK. AND ANOTHER: Make sure the controller and console are PAIRED or Synced using the buttons on the controller and console.

Dude! This was what I was looking for! I recently added an HDMI switch to my TV. It has an HDMI in to the TV and 3 HDMI outs essentially increasing the number of HDMI ports available on my television. There is a button that switches between port 1, 2 and 3. The xbox is plugged into port 2. Whenever a device that is plugged into this switch is activated, the switch defaults to port one. You have to push the button to choose port 2 or 3. I had no idea that the console would not communicate with the remote if it did not sense an HDMI connection. When I read your reply I knew right away because I just started using the switch yesterday. Thanks!

Dude, take out the little back of the controller with the battery, there will be a small metal plate (tiny) sticking up, you need to fiddle woth that to get it to work, and atlease xbox controllers don't break as easy as the playstation controller

Mine wasn't working and I tried everything. I tried connecting the controller to the Xbox and it did the continuous blinking after the lights synced on the xbox and controller. I then turned off the Xbox and tried to turn it on from the controller. The Xbox turned on and then I pressed sync again and the controllers connected.

Hmm. I pressed power button to turn console off but it restarted. The controller turned off by itself. When I pressed the guide button on controller, it synced as though nothing had gone wrong. I guess try cycling the power first. Weird.

Try choosing a different air signal by pressing the re-sync buttons, up to three different tries. Try a different controller, and blow down the hole.

Im not an expert. Search for X-clamps, as you might need to attach one to make it work. I bought an X-clamp and fan combo but never bothered to fit it.
