My biggest gripe with this controller (I'd gotten the one with the case) is the adjustment knobs for the triggers. The rubber nubs were attached to the arms with a weak adhesive so they'd fallen off at some point whilst gaming overseas. It hasn't got a big impact on gameplay, but the contact points they were attached to are a bit pointy/sharp so that forced me to adjust my grip a bit. It's been a while since I first got it, so I haven't addressed the issue. I just went for a cheaper, wired option for my gaming.

Second biggest gripe is random disconnects :9 I use it exclusively for PC gaming away from home and when it disconnects, my system tries to lag its hardest to ensure it isn't missing any inputs from the controller.

@@jKd2005 Have your updated the firmware of the controller through the xbox accessories app? When i just got my series controller, it wouldnt charge too and it would always disconnect itself from my PC every few seconds. After updating the firmware all is good and functioning normally as it should

It doesn't cost more if you buy the Elite 2 Core on sale and a used accessories pack on eBay. I actually quite like the darker shade of steel.

@@itcamefromabox controller top port doesn't work but test the cord to my phone that works fine. Will return after I see if the charging dock works. If that doesn't work I bought 100% defective controller

The Elite Series 2 Core is the exact same controller as the Elite Series 2. The hook is that it does not come with all the accessories as the Elite Series 2 and is slightly cheaper. It's called a cash grab.

I think the bigger oversight is the lack of paddles which are one of the main features of the controller!

I think it’s because the price of the core and the components equals the price of the full controller. My thinking is that it’s for people going from the series 1 to series 2. They won’t need all the components again so this way they can save money. If that makes any sense.

Who cares about thumbstick drift, it's an issue that affects a tiny minority of pads (and even then most often only after a huge amount of playtime), not worth even bringing up in any review. What REALLY needs to be tested is the snapback/recoil - when say you're pressing the thumbstick right to go right, then release, and as the stick returns to its original position, it registers a millisecond-long input to the left, which is enough to turn your character the other way and thus render a vast number of games (esp. platformers) completely unplayable or just extremely annoying. This issue plagued the original Elite controller for Xbox One (had to return it because of that), and I'm very keen to know if this one has inherited it.

Yep, we're putting all that to the test. Takes time though because even if it works fine at first, issues may arise later! As for stick drift, even though it hasn't affected us we still look out for it!

Full white setup, the price difference between buying all at once and separately is 5 bucks in Canada. So if you want to keep the consistency with your setup, it's not so bad
