Honestly thought I was the only one who experienced this! I'd scroll through the gamepass and see games I know I'd really love, install them, but not put any times into them. I was even self aware of how I was never motivated to play a free game or game pass games as I didn't spend money on them, but genuinely thought it was just a me thing

I've felt this pretty hard recently. Over christmas I had Game Pass, my Steam games blacklog, a bunch of ames on Epic, and handful of games on my Nintendo Switch and then I decided to spend a $250 gift card on even more Switch games. I ended up burning my brain out and just deleting a bunch of guff, selling my Xbox in favour of a Playstation and wittling down my Switch games to things I have to complete before I can move onto something else. Since then I'm sticking to buying my games only. If I buy Game Pass or Playstation Premium, I just download things, play them for half hour, and move on, or I just get overwhelmed and scroll through the same list for an hour. Buying physical is my way to go for a while. Since I've reguarded my PC as 'This is my social platform where I play games with friends'. My PS5 and Switch are now 'Singleplayer games.' and I've beaten Xenoblade, God of War 2018 and soon to be ToTK since Christmas, its been nice to take choice away from myself. It was nice to see that someone was having the exact same problem that I was having. I really like your video, it's struck a chord with me.

I mean it feels pretty clear with gamepass that it’s not a rental. Do you think you own any of the movies you watch on Netflix? I agree that it erases that line a bit and I tend to prefer to buy physical - even if the discs are mostly useless now. I am fully aware that all of these games are not products I own. I wish the industry was different in a lot of ways but it’s been heading down this path for so long that it would take way more than just a few people unsubscribing to game pass to stop it. For what it is - I think it is worth the price - but I understand how others might feel that way.

@@KlumpGamez I’m a gamer, not a movie buff. And yes, a lot of people wished things were different, but none of you have the discipline to punish these companies for anti-consumer practices. Worse, a lot of players will support a good cause online, but buy these garbage things in private. Y’all are mindless consumers. Like dogs salivating at a bone. Sorry if this comes across as rude, but you know it’s true. Players have the power, but the companies push manipulative and addictive “experiences”, because they want you to think with your emotions instead of your brains. And it works. Mark my words, if the next generation of consoles will even have disc drives, they’ll be released in smaller numbers. But gamers will buy the garbage anyway.

I’ll admit, Starfield was meh, at most. After the whole “Starborn” thing, it really made me turn the game off. Todd needs to get off the Skyrim formula.

Played through the starborn main quest and yeah it was boring and I grinded to new game plus 8 or 9, which was painful. But after this I tried the factions and I have to say they're fantastic and really well written.

I am feeling the same way about Game Pass. I chose X over PS 5 mainly for back compact games, for as a primary PC gamer I haven't had a chance to play Fable, Crackdown (Which I love btw, dumb fun game). What I think is important to point out is that you can still buy the games on game pass, and the game pass is offering additional discounts on the games in the library. So if you like to buy games, I'd say that Game Pass is like a glorified demo like service which allows you to actually fully try the games without any time restrictions and eventually buying them if you'd like to own them. Like for example, yes you can stream movies left and right nowadays, but people still enjoy buying their favorite films just for the sake of owning them (in a relative sense that is). In general, I'm still inclined to buy the games, though I'd like to own them on Steam tbh, but heck I can't keep up with ever-changing hardware :D. Another thing that I think is worth mentioning, is that by buying games on sales we are creating a backlog, and are pretty much putting ourselves in shackles of "I bought I need to complete". With Game Pass, I can finally drop games I don't enjoy playing. Like Dead Space remake, which I would have bought for sure if not for Game Pass because I like survival horror, but this time it just didn't click. And so what, I just dropped it and play the games I actually enjoy. I think subscription based services are the future.

The game pass discounts are definitely an added perk of the service for sure! While I’m not the most stoked on subscription services being the primary way I experience games, I like it as a secondary option. Glad you’re enjoying your time with Game Pass!

I just got PC Game Pass and this is so true! But also its fun being able to play a different game everyday. Probably not good to start hundreds of games and never beat them but I already been doing that since childhood. Dozens of games that I started but lost interest in. But now with gamepass its a low price instead of spending $60 on a game and never playing it ever again after a week.

Great video I sold my series x because it felt weird to own a console where all of my games are playable by subscription only. Like i have this engrained look in my mind where I'm obliged to rush through as many games as possible before my monthly subscription ends and I don't like that when i play my games

I personally found that narrowing the backlog to 10 games i want to beat worked wonders for my ability to actually complete anything from my backlog of probably 500 games

This was the same for me. When I subscribed to GamePass, I had no idea what to play because there were so many random options. People said Celest, but I saw it was a generic 2D game that I don't really like. Halo Infinite got low reviews. Hades is a game that you need to be a really good player to be good at. Fallout 3 (or 5, who knows?) had the worst graphics, so I didn't bother). No one likes racing games like Forza or Gran Turismo. I eventually canceled GamePass and got a Switch. That was then I got lots of stuff I like! For those wondering, get Mario, as it's amazing. I will update later after I beat Mario.

(I already had a Xbox 360 so I wasn't really there at launch) and it always made me annoyed because playstation would always get these heavy hitter exclusives meanwhile I felt like I was poking at my Xbox One saying "Do something"

PlayStation exclusives really don't do anything for me, and the Wii U was the Wii U. (I had a Wii U, but basically stopped playing it after the Switch came out and games stopped releasing.)

Good vid man. I only got Game Pass ultimate last week because my Xbox gold was running out and I have a pc now. The Dishonored games are some of my favourites, but looking forward to playing High on life and some others. There was even some games I wanna try like Homestead Arcania whoch seem a bit diff from my usual games. Plus Palworld is just added I think so saves me buying it. On top of that I got a bunch of games on g2a that I wanna play through first, so I am doing a play order. So lik I did GoW ragnarok, doing Arkham Origins next, then Shadow of Mordor

I’ve been currently playing remnant 2 and it has been a lot of fun. If you like looter shooters with many bosses to fight you’d enjoy it. It’s best to play with a friend though.

Haha it’s different for everyone - no shade on that! Was just sharing my personal experience. May also be a little biased as I definitely have more interest in a majority of Nintendo’s and Sony’s games than a typical Microsoft release. Really stoked for Indiana Jones later this year though!

These types of services that shower you with games are only good for conpletonists and for people that like to play every genre of games. Because there is always a title wating around the corner and more points for your gamerscore or platinum trophy for your collection. I decided to jailbreak my ps3 and the moment I got to see the list of games I could play I downoaded about 30 games, only o delete more than half because I needed space to play another few I wanted, some of them I had played already
