Hardly any exclusives, pushing away the ones they do have, and relying on a streaming service to live do not sound like things a profitable company would do. I honestly put away my Xbox in its original packaging because at some point it just doesn't make sense to use it. I use the controllers more that I ever will the system because of Steam. The plan is to basically go for a war of attrition with PlayStation, games aren't going to be their focus at the moment. They don't care how much goodwill they're burning, as long as they get to have the monopoly they want. Layoffs are pretty popular at the moment too, for whatever reason I've seen like every other major company do it to increase profit and stock prices.

One things I've heard some time ago that I explains it well: "Xbox's leadership lost all the people who knew how to make good games and they were replaced with people who only know how to make business" Xbox today focuses so much on just buying people who can make games for them and yet forgets why people want to play those games. They try to go for quantity rather than quality. All the people in the past that knew how to attract players are long gone, replaced by suits who look at all the costs involved with making games and how to reduce them.

I'm almost convinced now when a company reaches a certain size it just rots from inside out. It becomes so big it's unmanageable and just begins hemorrhaging money until it collapses. We see it with Google constantly just making stuff only to cancel it, Disney incapable of managing any of IP it own, Microsoft is so big that is can't do anything because of the bureaucracy. Sony is even having issues where it is doing incredibly dumb things. Nintendo is a outlier in that they are a big company but they work with others not buy them out. Part of the reason is because of Game Pass. All of these companies pursue subscription services because it's consistent money. However, because of the economics of game library and streaming services, they start out by not making money but instead causing a lot of money to move around, which attracts investors. But when they want to turn the service into money making mode, that drives away people and the people who paid into the system by providing content like games or movies or whatever suddenly start wanting more money and that extra money dries up. Tons and tons of money is moving around, without a dollar to spend.

I'm a big Nintendo fan, and if I were to give them any advice, it would be this: Take a page from Nintendo's history during the end of the Nintendo 64 and the Gamecube cycle and just let your developers have fun. In fact, Miyamoto and a few other people in charge at Nintendo did that. They got some top minds, hired them, and told them, "OK, do anything you want. There are no limits, no rules, and no time line. Just do whatever you want." The developers wound up just kinda fucking around for a while, came up with some ideas, but in the end they wound up creating Pokemon Snap. When you let artists create what they want and allow them the space to breath with only some hard limits, you get awesome stuff. Steal from Nintendo and just let your developers do their thing.

It’s really funny to me that Microsoft blew $1.5 billion to acquire Atlus that company mostly focuses on Publishing and Developing JRPGs or other Japan focused properties. Their fanbase is Sony/PlayStation fans all the trailers from Atlus now start with an XBox logo yet I am almost certain the PlayStation copies of their games outsell the Xbox copies 3 to 1. I can’t for the life of me find a retailer selling the Special edition of Metaphor ReFantazio on PS 5 it’s basically sold out everywhere. The Xbone X version however I see everywhere. It makes so little sense on their part because the majority of Xbox fans don’t play Atlus games and the vast majority of Atlus fans don’t own an Xbox

If xbox came out with a console that never needed to be plugged into internet. I could just buy a game and that disc had the game so could just PUT A GAME IN MY CONSOLE AND PLAY IT INSTANTLY. I would buy a xbox console in a heartbeat. As long as games cost 60 dollars.

I'm glad i have my trusty Playstation. I don't play Xbox at all, but i do have a gaming PC, but that only means i have Windows on it, and i have had a few problems with it

With how they acted when buying Activision Blizzard you would think they had all the money they would need but when you look at how they acted after buying it you would think they spent far too much and are ruining out Like they keep desperately trying to make gamepass work and while it good to my knowledge they keep cannibalizing other things to get it to work while basically putting all your fath in Activision's call of duty to make you money as your other money makers kinda flopped

To all the people storming the comments, no, halo and gears are not coming to PS5. That was just a rumor started by some ex sony employee who didn't like Microsoft. And even if they do, literally Gran Turismo is the only PS exclusive that isn't on Xbox and windows.

I'd be more surprised if Xbox isn't broke at this point. The Xbox Consoles make a constant loss, Gamepass makes a constant loss, many of their games make a constant loss. On top of that they buy studios all over the world and turn them into shit, like they are a reverse midas. But at this point the Xbox leadership team a.k.a. Olympus of incompetence have to be agents from Sony and Nintendo.
