Have to thank you big time for producing not only these videos but (I assume) also helping create that script. Just finished the process of moving my stock HDD to a 2 TB Firecuda. So happy I did. Only hiccup I had was I figured I'd install Ubuntu on my PC to use on occasion - for whatever reason, it never took properly, but that isn't tied to your process and is something else for me to fiddle with down the road. Once I just ran the "Try Ubuntu" from the USB ISO, everything went swimmingly. TL,DR: Thank you!

Did this today. Took 3 hours cause i played it real safe. Worked successfully. I recommend for extra safety. Pull out of preview program. Erase everything. (Recommended to use external storage for quicker recovery backup). Then do as the video follows. It goes by quick without anything on the drive. THANK YOU XFiX!

I can confirm that these scripts still work as of April 2020. Managed to copy over my 1TB drive to a new 1TB MX500 SSD with all my games and downloads transferring over perfectly. Only issue was that because I had to use and old laptop with USB 2, the file transfer took about 3-4 hours rather than 10 minutes. Boot time to the main menu has gone from 1m5s to 45s and load times in the Witcher 3 are about 30s rather than 60s.

I recently just used this video and the Windows video to get the clone going. Found out the reason mine wasn't working was due to using a 2xHDD dock. Both Linux and Windows would get mightily confused about it and wouldn't be able to copy the data over. Linux was trying to basically mount the drive to itself, and Windows was able to copy but then got borked at the end. So, if you want to do this, ensure you have two separate physical connections to the hard disk drives whether it be SATA or USB to SATA.

You mentioned adding the bootanim to the 500gb before mirroring...what is that about? Does this mirror process not copy the boot animation? Will system upgrades keep removing the boot animation on the replacement drive?

I appreciate this a lot, I plan on upgrading my original Xbox 500GB drive to a larger drive once I'm able!! This seems like a much simpler process than I originally anticipated, especially using Linux. Would you recommend a 2TB SSHD or a 2TB SSD, in regards to price, load times, etc?

At 23:20 you mention putting the "boot animations on" what are you talking about? i followed this video using the "xboxonehdd-master-9" software. do i need to do the boot animation you mentioned? what happens if i do not? thanks

Aaaargh... not that Ubuntu thing again, there are plenty of much better Linux versions ;). Just my opinion that Ubuntu chases after MS-Windows by combining many bad aspects of MS-Windows into a system using bad Linux habits. Note for MS-Windows users looking at Ubuntu as representative of what Linux is - It's Not! Note from a PC user with a bloat free, fast, reliable, simple & secure Linux installation i.e. Slackware. It's the same OS, just put together without of lot of crap. @XFIX Sorry about that rant, just needed to blow off steam. I had a look at your Bash scripts, very nice bit of work.

I know this Video is a tad bit old now but I still have a question: I got an older Xbox One S from a Friend of mine with a broken Hard drive that I wanted to replace. None of the methods I tried worked (I partitioned the drive as shown in other Videos, Tried using OSU1 which only gets to 1% and then shuts off even tho the system hasn't been updated since a year, But I still get an E101 Error when using the OSU1) I still have an Xbox one original System and wanted to ask if I can use that and copy onto the drive for the Xbox one S?

After replacement SSD to my Xbox One X system never boot up and cannot perform offline update. Even though I replace back the original hdd to Xbox one X. System cannot boot up and the machine certified.

After attempting several methods to get around it, the fact is the Xbox One has a built-in 2TB (2048) internal drive limit. 1947GB is used because the other partitions total 100GB and I leave 1GB unused to be safe. It's usually harder to step down in size as you typically have to shrink partitions prior to cloning. I have yet to do the above, or for that matter clone an Xbox drive, but if it's anything like upgrading a PS3 drive tools like Clonezilla or just "dd" can do full copies of the disk.

Yes, for preview program systems it is important you copy everything from the old drive since you cannot use OSU1 to restore preview systems. At least until OSU1 surpasses the current preview dashboard version.

The J-Runner function you are speaking of doesn't work and not sure it ever did. Try it yourself. Plus it doesn't support 1TB or 2TB drives or any sort of drive cloning. Nice try though.

J-Runner perfecеtly works for my 500Gb. Latest version xboxonehdd-master does not work on either of the two win 7 and win 10 computers. On win 10 he writes that he needs administrator rights, although I gave them to him. I tried all everything, changing the language also. Trying cmd и powershell - both doesn't work. The script runs on win 7, but does not see the HDD at all, whatever on SATA or USB adapter. Such strange things.
