I know it's 7 years later, but you can get USB extenders. They're powered locally from an adaptor, and will boost a USB signal to go so-many metres further. You could just use a USB hub to do that, but it will add a little latency. For controllers though it's going to be nothing compared to the latency of your eyes and hands. Using cat 6 is nice, ordinary USB cables don't do anything against interference and just rely on re-sending any corrupted packets. It's the cheap way to do it but not the best. Using repeaters and cat 6 you could probably reach the Moon no problem!

You could use a MOCA box for Coax Cable, we did that to get our living room tv into our bedroom what they call that Whole House Cable TV with the main cable box being in the living room. Just used a small MOCA box in the bedroom, basically turns your Coax cable outlet in each room to a type of PowerLine. I am assuming it would work if you can get a MOCA transmitter for the Xbox and then the MOCA in each room would connect to the main box in the living room.

If you have windows 10 then you can mirror what's on your Xbox to your laptop/pc. I do it with very bad wifi connection across my home and it works very well Just make sure the Xbox is wired into the wifi box with Ethernet

I just did this using windows 10 Xbox streaming. I had it set up via HDMI to CAT6 before that witch worked nice. I just got me the Xbox wireless controller dongle and plugged that into the xbox and ran that to 3 rooms VIA modded cable that shared the signal in the dongle.

You still recommend that HDMI splitter? Is there a better one you now recommend? My parents have Sky Q but they say it might be getting a bit expensive. Therefore, I have declared that if I can find a better assisted living house to move to (my current one is awful!), they can have my 2TB Sky+HD box! When my parents had Sky+, they had a TV link, allowing Sky to be watched on any analog TV in the house. However, they recently had someone take the aerial out. I think one of these HDMI splitters would be a great idea!

I tried to extend the usb port by, USB male to Ethernet female->15m cat 5 cable->Ethernet female to USB female-> Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spider Racing wheel. The wheel lose connectivity sometimes, also noticed it less sensitive.

unless you have the cash to buy a 8x4 or 8x8 hdmi switcher there isn't much of a solution to use I suspect if you wanted 8 zones of coverage you will also need to consider wired lan and have it segmented off from the home lan.. however it is better to have a console in each room you will need wireless/BT CIC tv compatible options where it uses the tv's ir/bt/2.4GHz wireless controls through the tv itself otherwise the only other option for use would be use a network switch and media converters

Hi, yes that is correct. If your controller stays in sync then you wouldn't need the Ethernet but they loss sync quite close so you need the Ethernet to keep the signal. Thanks.

Thanks for the video! Question: Without the HDMI splitter, the Xbox performs a plug and play config to setup the HDMI resolution according to the connected TV screen. If we have a HDMI splitter in between the signal path, and we use 2 different TVs, will the HDMI configuration (resolution) be correct for both TV's?

this will not work due to the console itselfit will only support 1 setting and all the tvs in the loop would be needing to support whatever console was setup on.. so initially set on 1080p then every tv/monitor would also be at the support level of 1080p same with 4k hdr!!!! personally whilst this might be a valid proof of concept though past a second tv i really think you are think you are pushing the shit up hill past this without a external gpu or 3 being involved

Having three monitors would be like having and extended display but the programming for the game will not allow an extended display. You could do a set up that would allow extended display however it would just be a really stretched view of the same thing that would be on one. Almost like changing a tv from standard to wide screen

I did this as i have all my equipment in a media cupboard under the stairs but found the signal would not reach. However if i had the xbox one in the lounge and the controller signal would reach upstairs to the bedroom easily. So now it stays in the lounge and distributed the same way over cat5 hdmi

When steaming you plug control into device your steaming to so in my case it's a tablet so you could skip the controller part but steaming is not perfect with wireless so would still set rest up the way you have

So i did this setup, but my xbox controller says low battery. currently I am running over a 5ft ethernet cable. Today my 50ft flat ethernet cable arrives so i can routed to my bedroom. A very informative and useful video. I really appreciate you for the time involved in making this video and giving in detailed information about the setup. Really helpful. With PS4 the same setup would also work because the technical aspect is also same as xbox one but it wont serve the purpose because you cannot multitask in PS4 as like in X1. PS4 can only do one at a time, means if you want to play game then you can only play game and it will transmit the same signal on to the different TV, as here in X1, one can watch TV either through X1 hdmi in or connecting a set top box to the main TV and of course gaming in the background in another TV. I am guessing if you use two separate connections then TV and PS4 gameplay can work together. set top box hdmi out--->to tv hdmi 1 and PS4 hdmi out-->to splitter hdmi input, then hdmi out 1 from spitter to another tv in. So this way you can simultaneously watch tv and also play game on another tv. DS4 controller setup I think the same way should work as you did here... BTW one thing which I did not understand is that how did you connected the normal TV signal here. Was it through a separate hdmi from set top box to TV ?

Hi, you can get a cheap 1 input 2 output splitter (1in 2 out) for around £10. This means you wouldn't have to keep changing the HDMI lead between TVs.

A simpler option: 1. Route ethernet through house (if not already done so) 2. Plug Xbox into routed ethernet cable 3. get old laptop and install windows 10 4. plug laptop into routed ethernet in another room 5. plug laptop into tv 6. Use the stream feature, to stream xbox. Done! if needed in another room, move laptop.

Hey Vince, when you stream Xbox One to Windows 10 it not only shows game play on the laptop, but sends the signals from your controller back to the console. Meaning you can play from your laptop. You don't have to use any HDMI if you dont want, you could even play the Xbox One wirelessly if your WIFI is strong enough. The only reason you need to use a HDMI cable is to connect your laptop to your TV. Hope that helps, Bryce.

If you have the new Xbox One S and wanted to use the 4K feature rather than 1080p then everything would need to support 4K. If you have the older Xbox one then the cheaper splitters/switches etc. will be fine as it only outputs 1080p.
