I have a g4 Mac from 2003 it still runs and does it's job (running audio sofware, midi ect). I have probably got though 8 pc's in that time. I know of many studios still running these things and none with a pc of this era. So in my audio specific case at least, the Mac has saved a whole ton of money. Deffinetly not a mac fanboy btw and love my PC for gaming. I think of the Mac's as being a bit like a luxury car where as PC's in general are more like supercharged go-karts that provide awesome fun and modability, P.S The wifes PC died last weekend. And I will be buying another PC, not a mac due to them being a overpriced piece of crap! :)

Riff Metalson You have a mac from the time when it was GOOD, Now, theyre using old hardware, for instance in the new Mac Pro, Theyre using 2 AMD FirePro's in crossfire, and FirePro is the budget rendering card, that is slower than an Nvidia GTX 480 in rendering, and framerate in FPS games.

Plastic clips are used in electronics because it's much cheaper and faster to manufacture both in parts and assembly process. They also use less room. Those reasons are why you see clips on most tablets as well.

The size of the heatsink does NOT mean better cooling, any PC enthusiast will approve what I've said, just look at GPUs, they have smaller heatsinks and run cool as hell. By the way, the PS4 has thermal pads on the ram modules, xbox doesn't...

ADevilNeverCry LMAO, Xbox360's problem with RROD was to small heatsink on GPU that was cramped under DVD drive... get your facts straight, before you post comment on this... The size of the heatsink DOES matter for better cooling and this will tell you ANY PC enthusiast... and there are another things that you must consider, like size of the fan and airflow around CPU/GPU... The truth here is that PS4 has all that electronics cramped in that small case with absolutely no airflow posibilityes and with that small heatsink and that smal fan it WILL have overheat problems...

These guys looks so bored with the motherboard, seems like there was nothing exciting going on. I honesty can't tell the difference in frame rate between PCs and consoles. Graphics on xbox one look good to me and it hasn't lagged at all. I love the controller and getting to play online with all my friends. Very happy with my $400 dollar console. Gets the job done and I have fun playing the games. Maybe the "PC master race" group should realise being rude and disrespectful online towards happy console users will not justify your purchase. If anything it shows how we console gamers are better. Because I for one don't go around being obnoxious and rude. In the end it's not about how much the systems costs or what the specs say, while you(I know it's not everyone) goes around trolling the web I'll be happily playing my xbox one. 😄

Arctic Silver 5 is capacitive. On the packaging it says it is not recommended for use on chips that don't have a full lid (due to risk of contact with conductive terminals). (ie. most GPUs, mobile processors). Also, spreading the thermal paste does not work well with AS5 as air bubbles are created. The line method would have gotten you 1-2 °C drop in temps relative to spreading. It isn't necessarily wrong though. And i agree, this is more intense than surgeon simulator >: o

***** Totally underestimated how far developers would go most likely. Most games now are 8gb and most PC games that are large technical powerhouse tend to cap at 20gb-ish. Then suddenly everyone makes 40gb games which were previously only done by asset heavy games like Total War. Strangely enough the hard drives are universal but are damn near impossible to reach. External hard drives themselves aren't limited to Microsoft product either. Basically, lack of foresight/stupidity.

***** Smaller operations? Sure assets are smaller but besides size the operations to make them work are uniform across anything to begin with especially with the background engine tasks. Also to flatly say you can fit 70+ games on a single HDD doesn't amount to much considering games can very is size exponentially. The difference is this time the industry is no longer hovering around the 8gb mark (due to the 360's DVD). Considering the capability of the consoles and the full move to blu-ray the new game size would mostly likely hover around 25gb (single layer blu-ray). Games will just balloon in size because they no longer are constricted or have to be too reliant on compression. For PC that's an easy fix but for these consoles these sizes are too small especially considering the move to digital storefronts. Much how like Steam has reduced the size of physical copy aisles for PC games it wouldn't be surprising to have loads of games on a digital library.

The middle is the processor core. That big ass square you see around it is a spacer for the heatsink...

norge696 yep, and the reason for that is the die height, which is roughly the height of the internal VRM and capacitors for the iGPU and the 8 jaguar CPU cores, without that, you get a short out and death of the chip... although, we were primarily talking about the cooling system (heatsink and fan) that was over top of the APU!!

TheSoxmania I was actually surprised by the heatsink they used in the Xbone. It's actually an adequate cooler which reminds me of a low profile Noctua design. Looks like there won't be any overheating issues with it. But not like it matters, I never owned a single xbox in my life. PC >PS4XBOXONE

Fyi, the Ps4 for example has a 20gb/s cpu bus bandwidth, 76gb/s ram bus and a 176gb/s gpu bus, so those high end 6gb/s motherboards, have a long way to go still.

The shapes on the PS4/PS3 controllers are not painted either. If you take it apart, you'll notice the colored insert underneath that is moulded to fit perfectly to fit the button, glued in, then polished to match the surface of the button and reveal the colorant, which is why they never wear off. It's like the letters on the older IBM and better keyboards not being painted, but actual plastic inserts as well.

Andrew Rodriguez I go where the games are. Xbox One has HALO (reason alone for me to get the machine), FORZA and KILLER INSTINCT. Those three games I can't get elsewhere. PS4 has nothing. The only game I'm somewhat interested in is Uncharted 4 but even that isn't enough for me to buy the console. I can't spend that much money for one game especially since Uncharted 3 was the most boring game ever. They have Indie games I can play on my PC since 2011 like Don't Starve which was available in alpha and beta form for years. I got an Xbox One too and have a PC. That's the way you should play games.

Halo was decent, but never been as good as part 3, and you cant even compare forza to gran turismo, GT is the god of racing for over 15 years.. I will just wait it out, there is still a lot of great games on the past generation systems, if whenever halo does come out, i will invest into one

The Similarities come from the fact they started packaging Xbox 360s with the same chipset but throttled down, it was cheaper to just make them all the same with different software.

Jamie Sieder more people who absolutely dont care what facts are presented that contradict their way of thinking they still refuse to believe it. the scientists who support it base their ENTIRE findings based on simulation models and what they EXPECT greenhouse gas levels to be. which where given false information to start with, no software can predict properly when fed fake information. or do you choose to ignore the copenhagen scandal as well? fact is its been disproven repeatedly with ACTUAL facts and analysis of soil from previous eras and in the past 30 years the green house gases have maintained a rather steady level despite what humans have done. The FACT is you can combine the carbon footprint of every person on the planet and still not even come remotely close to the gases produced naturally in north america alone. the FACT is australia might have gained temp this year but 2010 and 2011 it cooled, and 2012 and 2013 global averages have dropped. also the FACT is that from what geologists are coming forward with is that in the 1700's the world had a minor iceage and that the planet still hasnt even recovered to its "normal" temperature even today, and that the climate change is a normal cycle that they have shown has been going on since as far back as they can dig millions of years before humans existed and the earth goes through minor cycles of heating and cooling every 10-20 years doing one before switching and doing the opposite for another 10-20 exactly as what we have observered since we began caring in the 70's. we are starting the cooling cycle and its supposed to continue to heat up steadily getting slightly hotter after every mini cycle for the next 200 years when they predict the next ice age. THAT is being predicted off what geologists have found has happened in the past and not off computer models which havnt even come close to being accurate over the past 15 years. which coincidentally when they where created it was said if they deviated more then 5% over 15 years they would be 100% inaccurate and should be pretty much thrown out which is exactly what has happened and one of the reason you dont see the crap on the news anymore.

Jamie Sieder if you really still dont believe me go check out the forbes article on how the majority of scientists actually believe that the whole man influenced global climate change deal is a sham. the highest percentage of people who believe in it comes from geoscientists specializing in climate and engineers. even then only 36% of them believe in it, other scientists in other fields have even lower percentage. the only reason it ever caught on was because of high profile individuals like celebs and al gore. plenty of other information from reputable sources too you can find with actual scientific data disproving it if you care to look.

I don't doubt at all that the system could've been smaller but as ExplosiveGG said it's preferable to have a larger system. Most of the size comes from the fact that MS left a lot of space in between components and also fitted a massive fan to the SOC. It's clear they're real goal with the design was to prevent another 5 years of RRoD. In fact, I've not heard a single thing about an XBO overheating, except for the occasional exaggerated report from an idiot who places a console with a vertically mounted fan in a shelf that only has 6 inches of clearance..

hi that button in the side of the xbox is to synchronize the xbox one controller if you notice there is an small button on the top of the xbox one controller you press that button in the side of the xbox and the other one in the controller if the controller is not connecting that issue happen mostly when you connect the xbox one controller to the pc anyways you guys should known that by now :3 great video :)
