Hi. No offense intended. But it sounds like you are using a pump driven hot air reflow station. That hasn't had the shipping screw removed from the bottom of the case. If so, you should remove that as soon as possible or it will destroy your pump. If that is not the case. Please accept my apologies.

Also one more question. Is the heat gun necessary or can i just use the solder and the wire mesh that picks up the old solder

You don't need a heat gun. Although it makes it way easier. With solder wick you have to be sure on the pins on the back to heat them all at once. Or if you have time individually heat them and lift them. For the feet holes you can easily wick away the solder though.

I’m struggling, trying to do it myself and it’s my first time soldering. I have no heat gun! I just have a cheap weller, a couple different tips and some electrical solder would love some help!

On a One S? Series S doesn't have the input HDMI port. If One S you can indeed swap the input HDMI port to the output.
