Perfect soldering skills. Its not easygoing. Wire in a nice layout placing is not easy. After the second one my hands starts shaking and ….. Sorin you have great skills.

Nice i haven't done a repair like this yet but my jumper wire is 0.10 millimeter I'm sure it'll be fine if i ever do get a repair like this thanks for the lessen you are an awesome teacher even North Ridge Fix has been very helpful.

@Electronics Repair School ... I have the same scope as you. But it's difficult to use both eye lenses and get a clear view. I end up looking through one lens. It's not faulty or broken, I think it may be my eyes or incorrect usage.

10:41 if you wonder Why that track has "wave" shape/pattern - it can be because maybe that signal must be more delayed (compare to others), or to fix "interference"/noise / collision with other signals or ground (i don't know correct word). So the engineers use that kind of "tricks" to achieve different / special resoults. Maybe someone more experienced can say something more correct here.

Yes, its because those tracks are in pairs and curved around the board so the inner track would end up shorter, so they add distance (the pcb design software) to get them equal length

Can also use some hot air on the conformal coating after the UV light but nice repair.

Replacing tracks is a job that I find goes really easy sometimes, and sometimes takes hours of failed attempts for me to fix. And Im really not sure why. I can't tell from looking at the job whether it will be a quick one or a long one.

17:30 not a coil or an inductor. those tracks come in pairs and they have to have precisely the same length, for signal integrity.

the problem is of course with no base unit you can't test it, so i would of tested each pin to its place before coating it, as an extra piece of mind.But you did push each pin on the hdmi at least

The trouble with Cotton wool buds they Leave loads of loose fibres I’m going to have a look on the Internet to see what other things we can use for this and I’ll get back to you

The customer sent you a new port because he watched too many KZbin videos making it look easy to change an HDMI port. Obviously he couldn't solder the new one on the mess he made. Sometimes it is more expensive to do it yourself.

Question. i have one of these here where the filter coils were heat soaked and came off. Thing is, I cant get any of them to solder back on. Any tips or suggestions? i've tried iron, air etc, to no avail. And these are TINY, so there should be no reason the pads are soaking all the heat up. I can't seem to locate a replacement either. so, if I am looking for a comparable one to put in, how critical are the inductance values of the components? Side note: These actually came of while gently cleaning flux off the board with cotton swabs. Literally wiped right off..

If you can't tin the pads where the filter used to be, it's because the whole lot ripped off. That would explain the difficulty. To replace the filters, I use hot air and touch up with an iron if needed.
