I like this. We don't need to bring 30 minutes of life story into 5 minutes of instruction - just straight to the point at a lean 3 minutes 30. All KZbin tutorials should be like this!

My 10 month old daughter tossed my brand new from microsoft xbox controller into the toilet. It is the variant bought together with the PC adapter new from Microsoft. When following this guide, I found that the screws are Security Torx T9, and there was an un-mentioned one hidden under the sticker in the battery bay. Maybe pin a comment mentioning the extra screw, or some people may try to force the face-plate off and break something. The inside PCB's are mounted with Torx T6 screws. Thanks for the guide.

had this controller since getting my series x, the right trigger feels sticky and i always have to blow hot air to "melt" the stickiness

Be aware, Microsoft is now using the tamper proof torx screws on controllers. Regular torx won't work. You will need the T8 with the hole in the center.

@Charlieearp928 A bit late, but i just bought a kit on Amazon for like 10 bucks that came with like 5 different screws of various sizes. Worked when I cleaned my series x

Let’s say the red and black wires reattached from the motherboard, the ones for the rumble motors, how would you reattach them? They just detached the second I took out the whole piece from the back piece.

I done this but now my two trigger buttons are active (not stuck) they are active and wont turn off when I press them

Weird situation, i threw my contorller cause i was mad (stupid ik) when i picked it back up one of the casings was off and one of the "rumble motors" was hanging out i tried to put it back in even though I had no clue how and it fell out. My question is how my controller working fine without it and what is the likeness i will be electrocuted or the controller will explode?

I had stick drift, to fix it I usually use a toothpick to get under the edge of the thing and clean the too of the joystick without taking it apart, but this time the toothpick somehow got shoved inside 😂😢

SAFETY 8 apparently. has to have the hole in the middle. op didn’t say that. also called tamper proof torx

yeah i had to go back the store to switch it out. I also cant get the side panels off after using same equipment for 2 hours. bent the plastic on the brand new controller @bcjammer

@yelk710 i do not have money. and also i shouldnt need to spend money to fix a controller. if they really cared about self repairs, they would use normal screws like a normal company and i should be able to use normal tools laying around my house.

Keep trying. It pops off, if you can get your nails under all sides .

Perhaps trying using multiple picks (or pick like objects) like he did. Try wedging them under all sides at once? Guitar picks might work fine if you have any lying around!
