One of the coolest things about being born in the 80s is seeing the graphics jumps. Going from Nintendo to Super Nintendo was mind blowing. Then jumping to the Nintendo 64 and the PlayStation. I think the last time I was totally blown away by a next gen console was playing the PlayStation 2 for the first time. Playing SSX was unreal. That was the last time a next gen console blew me away. Yeah new consoles look better but there will never be that shock and awe moment again when seeing a massive leap like going from 2d to 3D or ps1 to ps2 again

A lot of people hung up on this not being a drastic generational jump, but I feel like we've just hit diminishing returns with modern games. Yeah , graphics can get nicer but it's not going be to be leaps and bounds like comparing an SNES to N64 for example. Honestly, the most impressive thing of this generation is that we're now making 60fps a standard.

I disagree with Austin, I believe that with both the SX and PS5 we will see a significant jump from the previous generation (even from the Pro and XB1 X), probably more so than many of the transitions in the past. When games start arriving that are built from the ground up for the new systems, not having to cater for the PS4 and Xbox One, we'll begin to see what they're truly capable of. .

Not just parity with PC. I've got a decent SATA SSD and a very fast NVME SSD and I've seen some loading action on the Series X that I, for some reason, can't quite yet match. Not with all games though, but I've seen one or two cases - and seeing as they're all back-compat games that weren't made with SSD's in mind that's... pretty impressive.

As far as Quick Resume goes, does it not work if you have the games on discs. I mean I assume it wouldn’t work because you’ll have to switch discs out to start a new game. Also with backwards compatibility, does my memory/saved data from older games transfer over too or no? Well atleast through 360 or One with a cloud or something.

Tbh the PS4/X1 release was the only console launch that was not up to speed of current med-high end PCs. The Generation before was actually better than most PCs at launch

The loading speed is actually really cool but Idk why, I expected it to load even faster....maybe because of the false claims of "There will be *NO* loading screens in these consoles". Also, the PS5 seems to load games much faster than Xbox because of their custom chip or whatever, but the Destruction All Stars Loading Time in the UX Trailer also didn't look super fast
