She is so cute to me, but it’s really hard to support barbie when they can’t even give the base doll a decent quality face, I reallyyyyy need them to retire this pixelated method, specially when most dolls on the market, even cheap ones, can provide smoother faces. It’s so annoying because with Mattel it always feels like they can go all the way and make the doll amazing - but they decide to cheap out on one aspect of the doll. So disappointing:(

And they're capable of it! As not all dolls are as pixelated (The Mermaid Adventure Brooklyn was great while Malibu was awfully pixelated...) and Monster High has no pixelation at all! I wonder why they keep boycotting themselves...

I totally agree. One of the things I remember as a kid in the 80s was forming a bond with my doll through their face, playing with soft hair, and having the details of the fashions meet or exceed what I saw in my own clothes. Missing any of these things is cheating kids out of a full doll experience, and current Mattel seldom hits all 3 on one doll, unless it is collector-level, and even then sometimes not.

The design of this doll is great, but I always connect to a doll through the eyes (even when I was a kid). When they are pixelated, the doll is just a mannequin for the fashions. So, I only buy Barbies that either aren't pixelated or are on sale to the point where they are justified for their clothes/body. It's such a shame, though, because the closed-mouth Millie mold could look good if done properly, as collector Barbies have shown.

this is exactly what I was hoping Barbie would do after I heard Mattel got the Disney license back. I wish they would move away from the pixelized face paints (or fine tune the resolution like they did for deluxe Gholia's bag) but I've slowly been getting into partial repaints so that's something I can personally excuse lol. as you were saying you wanted to put her in my scene boots I was just thinking the out fit execution and accessories reminded me of my scene era dolls. I took a look down the Barbie aisle in target a couple weeks ago and it looks like Mattel is letting their designers have a little more fun with the hair/make up/outfits for a lot of the playline dolls. I *wish* we could get at least Barbie extra level articulation on more of them, but it feels exciting collecting Barbie again for the first time in AGES

You actually can remove Barbie extra hands but they are quite fragile. It's pinch the wrist and a little bit here, a little bit there wiggle job so the hand doesn't come off of the peg. I love that body suit 😊

She's absolutely gorg!! This might be one of the rare times I'm actually willing to pay full price, especially for a full line (aside from My First Barbie)! Also the only playsets I know of for Barbie Extra is the vanity with the exclusive doll and another that looks like some sort of vending machine with a poodle and a few other goodies! Also the doll posing with Barbie on the back with the fringe I *believe* is #5, who also happens to have fringe on her jacket as well

I believe you hit it right on the nail about the earrings, it's because they are small and also so the don't get lost. I always just cut mine off 🤷‍♀️ it would be better if they were easier to remove.

Please I need someone that reviews the Coachella girl from this line. She's awesome but i'm afraid for the hair because the last time we had this rainbow hair was on the extra n.5 and it was a really bad poly hair. But this line...I mean...you can clearly see the designer change in the brand and that the brand understood that THERE is competition and they decided to improve a little bit their standards. I hope that one day we'll see dolls like the style glam lines or old fashionistas from 2009 to 2012 (the life in the dreamhouse era)

You should try posca paint pens! They act like acrylic but in own form. I love to use them for the g3 monster high shoes. Just make sure to start with thin layers and make sure to seal it

Hi ,i got the festival doll recently i love how rainbow she is and she has a beautiful face i have just ordered this one I'm not the biggest fan of the millie face but I love anything winter themed it's my favourite season. My festival doll has a Cactus charm i put it on her wrist as she can't hold her purse sadly as its too massive and heavy.

The concept of this Barbie is great! I’d buy her for the clothing and accessories but that face?! Her face is super boring and extremely pixelated! I wonder why the Millie face always ends up looking pixelated but many of the cheaper Barbies don’t? She’s well designed (except the face) and I like the colours so she’s worth it to buy for that, but the UK price?! 🤣 she’s equivalent to over 42 DOLLARS here which is quite a lot for what she offers. The doll is pretty. I like her hair, outfit and accessories. The only thing that bother me is the pixelated face screening, but luckily her face design is nice, so it’s.... okay, i guess. Overall, she is perfect for kids to play and for display on shelves. But i hope that the pixelated things will gone soon.

I feel like a broken record about the faces and I hate being so consistently negative about it in reviews but it’s so bothersome when it’s THIS noticeable :( if they MUST be printed why can’t it be in a higher resolution like the Ariel LA dolls?! I don’t understand it. The Monster High dolls are this same price point and relatively similar quality and come with a similar accessory count and don’t have this problem. So weird. They’re almost setting these dolls up to fail :/

No, it's not ok about the pixelation... I am sooooo disappointed! The Design is perfect! How could they do this to her ;( I was even considering to skip the Barbie Style 2 pack for her and the Ken from her line, because the design of those ones is so much better even tho they are not mtm and are playline! I still want her tho... The outfit and everything else is perfect! The earrings being unable to be removed is so little kids don't choke on them. All the ones I have are like that. Extra a re playline after all. I dont like too btw.

I’m disappointed. The pixelation is horrible and her hair looks SO messy and much shorter than all of the previous extra Millie faced dolls. The earmuffs could have been fluffy like the RH winter line. The plastic gloves…no. I don’t like the flat feet… canceled my order. She looks cheap.

The thing about pixelated faces, they don't have wonk eyes. So it's a trade-off I guess. Notice how some collector dolls with no pixels, tend to have uneven eyes. And most kids that get playline Barbies, don't care about pixels. As for earrings, they're hard to remove, so children don't swallow them.
