XCOM 2 Final Mission Tips

I thought I would show you a little bit about how to take on the final mission.

On my last run, I put Mindshields on everyone but the Commander's Avatar and my Psi Specialist. I put my never-miss Sharpshooter on a ledge inside the chamber while my Ranger roamed around having little bursts of Serial. Everyone else was outside behind cover , generally overwatching.

Your game sound surpasses your mics sound in the video! Thanks for the tips, the only think I forgot was the pistol from the Hunter. Templar( with reaper), ranger, sniper, psi, specialist and last grenadier. Last time I tried the final mission was on xcom2 vanilla. Now wotc with all the dlc just like in the video. Sparks need a buff.

I'm a fan of taking a Reaper (stealth unit) on every mission I can, but I hear you on the final mission... stealth doesn't really matter as much as damage output on this one.

The final mission is very straightforward you can use some unique tactics, but damage is the best way to win here.

Superior Repeater Banish Fun

"Don't use stealth." My guy, banishing the Avatar is just too fun to *not* do! In all reality, your first point nails it home. Whatever you've been doing to get this far, just do it one more time. Sit back with snipers, break them with rangers, turn them with hacks and psionics, whatever works will work again. Explosive-reliance may have trouble getting through the first section without burning resources, but other than that its business as usual. The only really special note is the 7th unit you get. Commander's Avatar isn't the ultimate trap card, but it's the key to making even the final room's hyper-buff pods manageable. My tip: ice the Avatars first. Obviously. They're your objective, and my most recent loadout meant I never even saw an Avatar act. Doesn't matter how many Chryssalids are surrounding your assault if your sniper can nail Avatar 3. Tip 2: take your time in set-up. Make sure your cards are right (I'm pretty sure you can't get any more extra mates from Double Agent or Resistance Operatives), your bonuses are in play (especially buffed weapon mods and PCS), you have what you need from the GTS, and most importantly, YOUR SOLDIERS HAVE THE RIGHT GUNS. I equipped all the Chosen weapons, but forgot to give my Skirmisher his super bullpup that had free reloads, miss damage, and repeater cuz why not, and only found out when the 12% shot didn't kill the 4hp Chryssalid. Awkwaard.

Explosives and other limited use items should be saved. Also on the equip screen I would double check like you said I made the same mistake in XCOM enemy unknown, where I equipped my support with a standard ballistic rifle in the final mission. She was a psi-op as well so she was using here psi abilites more (so she was basiclly a Sectoid from this game). Thanks for the comment.

Actually stealth works. Have 2 rangers with conceal. One for each side of the wall. Left one should have the katana. He goes first h7gging the other side of the wall. The avatar will not see him. The other goes towards the 2nd tower. Again the avatar will not see him. When you're ready slash the 1st archon. Bladestorm will finish him off.
